Just got back from Gorkem having had to curtail our hols because of bereavement and the attention that illyos gave us when we had to return home early was outstanding , he found us flights on the internet and paid on HIS credit card as we were unable to transact ourselves , he even arranged a private transfer , what a real professional he is as are everyone at this outstanding hotel The grounds and pool are immaculate and the attention to detail that this family give is staggering , constant smiles all round ,if you waited at bar of buffett for longer than 5 seconds a smiling face appeared as if from nowhere to help you. I cant speak highly enough of this place or the family that run it . other reviews have outlined the area etc which are spot on . all i can say is thank you Gorkem for your personal touch and you support at a difficult time. we will definately return

I really do not know here to start! This Hotel is an absolute Gem, firstly, it is in Ovacik in a quiet road only five minutes from the main road but so peaceful and set in a beautiful landscape of gardens with the mountains all around, beautiful clean pool, in one word "Paradise".
The Family that own the Gorkem are the nicest people you could wish to meet, Sadik is so funny, always happy and laughing, Illyas, the manager cannot do enough to help you and Gorkem is so sweet and helpful.
The food is second to non, it is beautifully presented, and so tasty and the prices are very cheap and the breakfast is a Turkish breakfast and so fresh. You can have other options such as a "full English" for a small price ( but I cannot see why people want this in Turkey!, I certainly didn't as I love the Turkish food).

The rooms are small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water and hairdryers, on the other hand if you want something larger there are self catering apartments which are extremely spacious but we were perfectly happy with our room, which faced the mountains at the back.

Yes you do hear the cockerel and the Mosque call to Prayer but it sounds so wonderful and it is part of being in Turkey and I love the Turkish Culture and the Rustic charm of the surrounding countryside where there were Farms and hens running in the fields what a wonderful ambience this Hotel has, simply perfect and unspoilt.

The bar is well stocked and the prices are cheap and everything is so laid back and hassle free.

I must also tell you about the cake man!, He comes at about 4.30 in the afternoon with the most gorgeous selection of cakes you have ever seen! They were amazing! 7 tl each and so worth it .

There is plenty to do in Hisaronu and there are loads of Bars and Restaurants, and also quite a few in Ovacik, or, you can just get the Dolmus to Fethiye or Oludeniz , they stop anywhere for you and are so cheap. We went on a boat trip organised by Illyas and it was fantastic value, top class boat, lovely lunch, with BBQ fish/ chicken (done at the side of the boat) and salad, bread etc , the drinks were cheap and they pick you up from the Hotel and bring you back and it was 45 lira each, fantastic value.

We have been several times to the area but this Hotel is by far the best, I cannot fault it at all.

Thanks to everyone at the Gorkem for making our Holiday perfect we are missing you already and we will be back next year "Insh allah"

Love Chris and Phil x

What makes this hotel really special is the family who extend the warmest of welcomes to all guests, many of whom return more than once a year, and for many years. The well established garden and very clean pool is an oasis in the summer heat. If I had one criticism it would be the time of changes for room towels, we had two changes during a ten day holiday, which given the heat I personally felt was not enough. We ate in the restaurant on several occasions, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Be prepared to pay about £4.00 per night for air conditioning in the summer months, as this was needed. If a Turkish holiday is on your agenda, this hotel is well worth a visit.

I can only echo all the good things that others have said about this fantastic little hotel which sits off the main road between Hisaronu (easily within walking distance) and Fethiye. I travelled with my 12 year old son (first holiday, just the two of us) and we received a really friendly welcome from Ilyas, Sadik and the rest of the family. The pool table and dart board definitely helped to keep him occupied when he wasn't swimming in the pool. I was grateful to everyone who happily offered him a game which gave me a break! Met some lovely holiday makers too, many of whom were regulars but please ignore any negative comments about this . In my view, you can always judge a good hotel by the number of people that return!

We self-catered during the day which was so easy as there are numerous supermarkets which stock everything we needed and more. We ate out for our main meals, sometimes included in a daytrip. We had a few meals in the hotel restaurant which were definately the best we had all holiday.

The apartment was immaculately clean (I have high standards and could not fault it). The grounds are gorgeous, colourful fragant shrubbery surround the lovely swimming pool (plenty of sun beds) and with the mountains in the backdrop.

Yes, the cockerel crows and you hear the mosque but for us, that all contributed to the atmosphere.

What more can I say other than, we'll be back as often as we can (actually going back in October). This is a great value holiday destination - you'd be mad to miss this experience.

Just got back wonderful hotel lovely family food excellent(thanks chef x) its a little treasure would not hesitate to recommend and cant wait to go back. All the staff were brilliant and did their best thanks Sadik Illyas Gorkem and all the family. Beautiful gardens lovingly tended by Sadik even though he can be a little reckless with his hosepipe ha ha x

Room Tip: If you want self catering and space choose an apartment other rooms basic but hey you only sleep in...
