“Beautiful, friendly, relaxing...Perfect!!”
Reviewed 28 August 2011

Spent one week at the Moziak this August. Found it accidentally via an add on the Olu Deniz tourist page. What a GEM!!! Beautiful hotel, nice size, service was fantastic, had the best time, perfect location...only 10 mins walk to the beach and about 20 mins to the lagoon.

We stayed in a swim up room which was lovely, modern and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The manager Burcin was very funny and made the best cocktails...definitely worth asking for his specials!!

Wish we had more than a week there, weather was fantastic and we did a few trips, paragliding, sunset cruise, private boat cruise round the 12 islands and Dalyan mud baths. All booked through Sky Sports and well worth doing! This was my second visit to Olu Deniz and would definitely return again...may be back next year!

We ate out in the town most evenings, Buzz bar was our favourite and we had 10% discount as they also own the hotel! Had a BBQ at the hotel on our last night, this was brilliant and well worth the money...even had a bellydancer who got us all up dancing!

Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting relaxing surroundings and good service.

FANTASTIC HOLIDAY...THANK YOU TO ALL. XXX

Stayed in the Penthouse apartment early August 2011. Booked a couple of weeks before departure so to be honest, wouldn't have chosen the Penthouse as we were travelling as a family with a 5 year old and 13 year old but this was the only available room. Compared to other rooms that we looked around during our stay, the Penthouse bathroom was very disappointing. A very very small shower with a shower head installed for someone under 4 feet tall unlike the other rooms with a jacuzzi bath and double shower. There is no doubt that the complex was stunning and the apartments and grounds very well maintained however, if we did go back, even as a couple would not chose the Penthouse. It is suitable for those under 6 foot and as my husband is 6ft 3 found that he spend the entire fortnight stooping to avoid the low ceilings and in particular, the pint sized patio door out onto the balcony. The hot tub on the balcony was a nice feature but very difficult to get in and out of with no steps and the wood surround quite dangerous as there were loose sections of wood and exposed nails. As we were high up overlooking the complex the view was great but this did mean that it was particularly noisy in the evening. The noise travelled from the neighbouring Dorian Hotel, a high class joint with karaoke and a crude DJ most evenings. The umbrella was broken and my husband asked at reception on 2 occasions for it to be sorted. At just over £2000 for the fortnight, this is basic customer service. They did eventually "fix" the umbrella, a patch up job that lasted for a couple of days. The bar area in the complex is very tranquil with a fantastic seating area overlooking the pool. However, it was remarkably quiet and was told by a family that stayed last year that the menu had been changed and gone were the traditional bar snacks, e,g, cheese toasties etc and in their place quite heavy meals such as pasta - not want you want at lunch time in 40 degree heat. The quality of what was offered was OK, but not as it was last year. Breakfast I felt was hugely disappointing and expensive. There was far better value for money to be had just a short stroll along from the complex. The smoothies and shakes were fantastic but at £4 a go for a milk shake, then they should be. Quite a few people were spending a couple of days of their holiday feeling sick. My daughter and son included. Think this may be down to the large amount of ice in the drinks that may have been tap water - can't be certain though. I have been going to Turkey for the last 12 years and have never experienced sickness?? The bar staff were at best passable. One spent most of the day on Facebook and forgot drinks that we had ordered on 2 occasions. Sat there waiting for 10 minutes and had to remind her. My son, who took his laptop even sat at the bar and ordered his drink via her Facebook!! Buchin, the manager, selected his favourites and spoke to us for the first couple of days when he tried to sell the BBQ on the first Thursday we were there but there was little conversation with him after that. It could be a truely superb bar but as it stands this year, staffing and menus need to be looked at as no one really ate or drank there, especially in the evenings. I also felt that the Australian owner and his family who lived on site were rude and obnoxious. I handed my key in on the last day to the owner and I think his sister in law at reception. Not a smile a thank you or have you enjoyed your stay. So the answer to if I would go back - based on the price and the general customer service in the place, probably not. Would rather hand over £2000 of hard earned cash to someone who appreciates the custom. Sorry Mozaik and all your followers.......

Room Tip: Not the Penthouse - 1bed apartments spacious and cheaper

We loved everything about Mozaik. The rooms and grounds are immaculate, we had a swim up apartment and it was fantastic. Trying the 2 bedroom apartment next year. Staff are very friendly, especially Levent and Borchin. The food at the Mozz Bar is of a high standard and reasonably priced. We also ate at the Buzz Bar near the beach which is owned by the same group and again the food and service was second to none. Idris the waiter was superb and always looked after us well. I cannot think of any criticisms about our stay except that the time went too quickly!

We just returned from our 10 day holiday at the Mozaik. We had a fantastic holiday, we travelled with a 15 months old and we were extremely happy with the service and facilities we found at the Mozaik. If you want relaxation, peace and a clean and mosquito free place to stay, along with respectful staff and guests, this is the place for you. We met a number of families who we became friends with as everyone was friendly and relaxed. If you want load music, lots of drunk tourists and pool games, dont come here.

We stayed in an appartment and my parents had a swim up room. Both were very modern, clean and comfortable. The hotel food was fine, not too pricy and the milk shakes were excellent. The Buzz Bar (attached to the hotel) is a must for a cocktail and to watch the sun go down. Olu deniz is a bit hit and miss when it comes to food and night life. It depends what you want, there is plently of choice. The best places we ate were at the hotel on the BBQ and belly dancer night (a good laugh and the food was really very good), Captin Hooks fish restaurant is also very good (especially the seabass), and the secret garden for more traditional turkish food.

We are a Turkish family and have visited all over Turkey a number of times. From our opinion the Mozaik offered us a wonderful holiday and attended to all of our needs. We hope to return next year as places like this are hard to find.

We stayed in room 306, which wasnt' a "swim up" room, however we had our own terrace with sun-beds so we were very happy with our room. This hotel is amazing, Quiet, peaceful, friendly, and our favorite barman, 'Keith" aka Bourchin, was the most hospitable guy you could meet. He was so friendly and welcoming. Olu Deniz is the most beautiful place you could visit, and we'd definitely stay here again. We're already planning our next visit! If you want peace and quiet, friendly staff, excelllent room and service, you need to visit this place!

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel. Get a swim up room, however room 306 has the best of both!

We stumbled across the Mozaik Apartments by chance on the internet. We were blown away by their swim up rooms and virtual tour so decided to check out their reviews on Trip Advisor. Well.......... that didn't trip them up either, the reviews were FAB. So we decided to book our summer holiday with them directly (they dont use Tour Operators). Their booking system was straight forward with plenty of correspondance and we duly received a booking confirmation from them (I was so excited!)

You can book a transfer with the Mozaik for £100 and the mercedes van they use is very smart and will drop you straight to the hotel without any detours. However ,we decided to save the £100 and put it towards a car through EGE cars in Fethiye. For £350 we hired a car for two weeks and they sent a driver to the airport to pick us up in our rental car and also for the journey home. As we didnt fancy drving through Turkey in the middle of the night, this proved very attractive!! So, we ended up with a car for £250 which we thought was a very good deal. The apartments are a 2 minute walk from the first retaurants and shops and about a 10/15 walk to the beach so you don't have to have a car. But as we were self catering we used it to drive to the bigger superment upn the hill in Ovacek and also to drive to the other side of the lagoon.

On arrival to the hotel about 3 am in the morning we were taken to our room (205) and shown how everything worked etc. There was water in the fridge, some crackers and tea/coffee/milk etc in the room which I thought was a nice touch, especially as we arrived at night.

The apartment

MODERN!!! Exceptionally modern and clean with a fabulous Jacuzzi bath and probably the most powerful shower I have ever used. Comfy queen sized bed and kitchen with a fridge, 2 ring glass hob and microwave. The sofa bed however was too small for my two teenage boys age 13 and 16 and at 5'9 their feet hung off the edge. I would say that there should be an age limit for the sofa bed of about 11 years old. Having said that, they made do but it wasn't ideal.

The complex

RELAXING!!!! We had a swim up balcony which led directly to our pool from our balcony. The pool and surrounding areas are stunnning, the lagoon pool was always clean with plenty of lilo's and rings to choose from to play on which other people had left behind. If you have little toddlers then there is a small pool amongst a large grassy area with plastic play equipment. It would keep your little ones amused all day and they'd be very safe. The bar only plays quiet chillout music all day which is really relaxing.

We only ate in the retaurant for breakfast once and was adequate consisting of meats, melon, cheeses and cereal. We chose to either eat in our room or go around the corner for a full English breakfast for 5 lira (£1.80) in the Rose Garden Restaurant. Delicious Pancakes there too!

The Mozaik restaurant has a fairly limited menu and could really do with offering some light snacks for lunch ie: Baguettes and toasties. I know we would have eaten there at lunchtime if they had. Apparently someone staying there said they did last year but for some reason had changed their menu. The cocktails though are to die for and my 13 year old said the milkshakes were lovely.

The backdrop to the Mozaik is breathtaking, mountains surround the apartments and with the fabulous turquoise pool and blue skies you could be anywhere in the world. It's soooo quiet and relaxed at the Mozaik, if you want to chill out and read your book you will not be disappointed. It is a haven, a place to recharge your batteries. Yes it is right by the mosque and I will try to upload a video to show how loud it is, but we honestly loved hearing it and I thinks it's respectful to enjoy it rather than see it as an alarm call. If it does bother you, then take some ear plugs but after the first night we never heard it again.

Plenty of sunbeds around the pool with lots of umbrellas and places of shade. There are also some daybeds to use if you want to chill out and read by the pool.

Staff

CARING!!! We didnt have much to do with them as we were self catreing but everyone seemed very nice and when we were overcharged when we were settling our bill at the end, the guy ran after my husband to apologise for the inconvenience which goes to show they really care about what guests think.

The cleaner we had in our room was fantastic. She was so friendly and I actually miss her. We had broken conversations with my one word at a time Turkish attempts and alot of sign language. She'd splash the boys or tickle my feet whilst I was sunbathing, or opened a can of tuna for us, just little things but sweet things.

The resort

STUNNING! We've been to Alanya and Altinkum before and Olu Deniz is so much nicer than them. The sea is very clear and the shingle beach much nicer than sand, although it's not very easy climbing out of the sea on the shingle with any elegance!!! We went to the lagoon but based on other forums we decided to take a right by the entrance of the lagoon which leads to a number of smaller sandy beaches on the opposite side. We went to Nicolas and Billys beach, both lovely with friendly staff. We hired a pedalo and dived off into the clear water, beautiful.

Plenty of shops and restaurants in the main street and on the beach. The nicest places we ate were 'Help' on the sea front and 'Mustabi' (on the left hand side looking towards to beach just at the beach entrance). Also there is a Turkish Kebab shop opposite the ice cream sellers halfway down the main street, 5lira (£1.80) for a chicken kebab and they were gorgeous!!!

Also worth a visit is Sezgin Hair and Beauty. My husband had a Turkish shave, massage etc for £3.00!!! We also both had pedicures and I had a manicure. Really friendly staff, Hello Gulsah!!!!

We took the boys to an Aquapark with is attached to the Hotel Yucel in Ovacek up the hill. It only has about 6 slides but the boys loved it and if you go after 4pm its a bit cheaper and to be honest you'd be hard pushed to stay for longer than 2 hours anyhow.

Summary

We had a fabulous holiday, it's a fantastic resort and the Mozaik is by far the best place to stay in Olu Deniz, maybe not the cheapest but soooo worth the extra. Don't go to one of the loud All Inclusive hotels, go self catering at the Mozaik and try the wonderful Turkish Cuisine in all the fabulous restaurants Olu Deniz has to offer. The Mozaik have got everything just right for a perfect holiday and we can't wait to go back again!!
