Reviewed 12 July 2013

Spent two weeks here in June/July. Very pleasant, welcoming hotel with attentive, friendly staff and owner. It is set far enough away from the glare of Hisaronu to make it peaceful and relaxed but near enough for easy access to shops restaurants and transport to Fethiye and Olu Deniz. As one of the other reviewers notes, the decor of the rooms is an acquired taste and the fixings are a bit dated. However, the aircon was efficient (£3/night suppl), the beds comfortable, sheets clean and the maid zealous in her desire to keep the room spotless and tidy. The bathroom was a "wet room" which one reviewer seems to have a problem with. Occasionally soggy bog roll is the only downside of this, but you don't normally use it in Turkey anyway.

The food was good, but with so many places to eat in the area, why limit yourself? Turkish breakfast was included, consisting of the usual tea or coffee, eggs, cheese, toms, cucumber, processed meat, olives bread and fruit. Omelettes available on request. Repetitive but adequate. Price of drinks was fair and the measures generous (even for the non-local stuff like genuine Glenmorangie).

The pool was a good size considering the small size of the hotel and the water kept to a high standard of hygiene. Many of the guests were regulars for many years, which is a good indication of the quality and friendliness of the service. Primarily Turkish and British families and couples. Do not expect luxury at this price, but you can expect a pleasant stay and remarkably good value for money.

Rooms are very basic, with broken fixtures and fittings and furniture (very old fashioned). The shower is a whole in the floor right next to toilet with no shower curtain. Very little cutlery/pots in rooms as they don't want you to self cater, they want you to purchase the food and drinks on site - we had to sneak food into the hotel in a backpack. I don't blame the hotel as I'm sure the holiday companies are ripping them off, they need to make money some how. They also charge you for air con £6 a day for apartment and £3 for double room as a way of boosting their income - again I don't blame them. Food served is typical bar snacks ie burgers, omlettes, kebabs etc. Beer was reasonable price. Breakfast was bread, jam, olives etc on self service basis - not much choice. There was fusty smell in the rooms and on the stairs and landing. Beds were rock hard.

The pool is an ok size given the amount of guests, but you do have to be up early for a sunbed reservation. Lovely breeze around the pool - much needed in 50 degrees!

Location is a five minute walk into the main drag of hisaronu but away from noise.

Staff were helpful and friendly.

Only stayed one night then transferred to another accomodation.

Would not return.

Ok for young couples looking for a base.

Basic rooms but clean and comfortable - very good value for money. The owners are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The staff are hard working, efficient and always smiling. Bedding and towels changed every 2 days :) Good food available throughout the day and evening. Welcoming bar area. Lovely pool and sun terrace - always clean, never overcrowded or too noisy. I had a fab time and look forward to returning soon.

I would have given 5* but for the hotel being a little dated (however it is VERY clean!)..... and great value for money :)

The Red Rose is iin the quieter area of the village with only 2-3min walk to the main shops bars and food places plus it's only a five min Dolmuş ride down the hill to OluDeniz beach and Blue Lagoon.

It's set in a quiet, relaxing area without any overpowering or noisey buildings around. Quiet yet close enough.

The rooms are exceptionally clean and are re-cleaned everyday without fail. Every other day you get fresh sheets and towels. You can also ask for extra towels, sheets and pillows.
Over the years my hubby and i have had various rooms. From a double room, twin room, family room and the apartment and happy with them all.

Breakfast is usual Turkish breakfast but they are happy for you to take your own cereal if you prefere.
They will cook at anytime for you from the small menu at great value for money.

The pool is heaven on a hot day!

My family have been visiting The Red Rose for over 10 years and now it feels like home from home with a Turkish family thrown in.
Suleyman and Hânife will do anything for, especially if you need help such as doctors and accidents.
If you visit once then you'll be back!

My late father used this hotel for 15 years. My wife and I visited to scatter some of his ashes in the place he dearly loved.
Suleyman and Hanifa looked after us like we were family and the other guests there were all returnees for years. This sums up this Hotel, no travel companies contracts just booked up year in year out by people who have been coming for years or new guests via word of mouth.
The rooms are simply furnished and spotless, breakfast is provided every morning ( the boiled eggs are gorgeous ) The pool is clean and it is a short easy walk down to Hisaronu or the Dolmus stop for Olu Deniz. The Hotel is located below 6,400 ft Mount Babadag and it is wonderful to relax round the pool and watch paragliders take off from there on their long descent To Olu Deniz beach.
Cannot recommend enough.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have the best view. They also do self catering apartments.
