“Most relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

Stayed at the orka sunlife for a week from 12th july. Had the most wonderfull time. Staff were friendly and hard working. Hotel was kept beautifully clean. Food was superb, there was so much choice even if you were very fussy you would never go hungry.always found a sunbed around the pool. Couldn't fault the drinks . Can't wait to go again, already looking to go back next year.

Just returned last week from a 2 week stay at the Orka sunLife, overall very impressed & if the rumours of an infinity pool and additional restaurants are true, then this hotel will be even better next year

first room we were allocated, standard room, we felt was too small for 3 people, we upgraded the following morning to a superior room and the additional space was a great improvement (we were on the end of the block #3414 so had the corridor width also (or maybe that is the case for all superior rooms)
We did have to contend with the almost 200 steps up to our room, but the funicular lift was working every time we needed to use it & has the best air conditioning in the complex
Room was very clean, maids very helpful & conscientious, lovely towel art & flowers on the beds ,
- blackout blinds would be a huge improvement & the platform around the bed was a bit of a hazard & took up valuable space

location was

Staff - In the main were fantastic. A small number of restaurant staff who seem to want to just stand around resulting in some providing a poor drink service at lunch & dinner. some seemed to try very hard to avoid eye contact. This became somewhat of a challenge for my son to force a smile from the odd few :-) Suggest water bottle & glasses on all tables

Special thanks to Reception staff. Very helpful & obliging (money exchange as good a rate as in town)

Bilal @ Milky Way bar. Lovely guy, very quick & organised, runs that bar like clockwork & he really goes out of his way with those little extra touches, collecting flowers to place on the bar & in the cocktails
& the milky way bar waiter’s – sorry couldn’t catch all the names, offering blanket’s at night – lovely touch & my son loved the hot chocolate

Berat @ Lobby bar - makes some lovely cocktails, even with my vagueness such as something light & appley?

Deniz @ pool bar – also fab on the “special” cocktails - just don’t try & re-order it  as it wouldn’t be special if it was repeated would it  & all the iced tea my son could drink

Sorry - Pool music. too repetitive & thumpy for me. But the worst part is the conflict of pool & pool bar music. Entirely different music played through various speakers around the pool at the same time. Oh & the man with the whistle  someone sabotage that whistle please

Food always something to choose & of good standard, the shrimps & kebabs were delicious (I would have liked more Turkish pancakes though – loved them)
The only minor niggle with the food was lack of condiments, no tobasco at breakfast for the eggs or mustard for the roast beef – as I said a minor niggle

Thanks also to Oxanna – morning stretching, aqua gym & yoga was much needed after all the excess although hard going in the heat
& the staff in the hairdressers, very reasonable - great pedicure & Shellac nails

Overall as I said minor niggles and one of the best all inclusive hotels we have been to, we would return but school holidays and the excessive heat of July / August limits our choices

Sorry about the mis-spelling of any ones names  & thanks to all I have missed off this list for a lovely holiday

*swimming pool rated average only as I have heard rumour of an infinity pool where the fitness court is now, - that would be excellent & lack of a quiet pool (spa pool too often had kids jumping / cannonballing into it)

A little trepidatious at first having read some of the early reviews posted , but I needn't have worried - obviously only teething problems. This is a fabulous hotel that I would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic facilities, great food, friendly helpful staff and fantastic rooms (although the view from some may not be so great).
I don't want to write a long report mentioning everything I possibly could - suffice to say that EVERYTHING is fabulous (well; perhaps evening entertainment could be improved on - but this will undoubtedly get better as the reputation of the hotel increases, which it inevitably will) and I thank the staff from cleaners through to hotel management for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing two weeks.
If you are looking for a hotel in the middle of the resort then perhaps it might not be the one for you, but if your requirements are great facilities with great service and friendly staff then look no further than Orka Sunlife.
It might seem an odd point the mention, but I have never seen such fantastic poolside toilet and changing facilities and this standard extends throughout.
If you are currently thinking of a holiday in or near Olu Deniz / Hisaronu and you don't necessarily want to be right in the resort (it is only a short taxi ride or a trip on the local dolmus service away from both) then give Orka Sunlife a try - I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I would go back tomorrow given the opportunity and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
Kevin & Karen H, Northumberland

Room Tip: If you can get one try for a room with a pool/sea view.

We were at this hotel 13th July to 27th July 2013. This was our first holiday to Turkey, 2 families with children 16,12 and 19 a much needed bite to eat with prepared baguettes - a nice unexpected touch which was appreciated. We were driven up to our rooms and although we had been concerned about the size of the standard room having a 16 year old with us we were really pleased with the space we had. The rooms are beautifully decorated and laid out - the shower is a wet room and has all mod cons, a safe is provided free of charge and also has tv and dvd player - a god send as during the day it was exceptionally hot 125 degrees some days. The only negative is the storage space not ideal for 3 but for 2 would be ample.

The service is exceptional all staff from man who was painting the murals while we were there, cleaners, spa reception, waiters/waitresses and management all really friendly.

Food is superb, something for every taste and they have theme evenings, each night the management will have on offer a pre dinner drink and sample of the food, for Mexican the tequila shot took me back to my earlier years and I now wonder why I used to like it!

The deserts if you have a sweet tooth are fantastic with a massive array of choice they not only look great they taste fantastic - they are small which lets you try more - even better as I was averaging 10 a day - 5 for lunch and dinner!

There is also a snack bar an hour before lunch, and at 3pm they bring out ice cream for a much needed cone - but eat quick as it melts fast! There is asol turkish delight out in reception in the afternoon and cakes again at 4pm with a final snack bar available at 11pm if you are in any way still hungry!

Although this is a new hotel they are taking feedback on board via their own Facebook forum. They are keen to ensure that if there are any issues they are addressed. I made a couple of suggestions as the children's play area and pool has various kids plastic toys to play on but there is no canopy and with the summer heat the rubber matting gets extremely hot as does the toys, also the entertainment although great during the day at night wasn't great but they have taken steps straight away to improve this over the days before we left.

The one point to note about this great hotel is the stairs, they do have an outside lift which is fully air-conditioned but it can break down, if this is the case there are a lot of stairs, we didn't mind as the 129 stairs, yes I counted, were my penance for eating all the cakes at dinner and lunch but its something to keep in mind.

Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely, its brand new, rooms are great, staff excellent and food exceptionally good, if they can crack the entertainment quality in the evenings they will be on to a true winner.

Room Tip: avoid rooms looking onto stairs go for sea view

Good points - pool area is good, plenty of loungers, the kids love the slides. The Galaxy lobby bar is good, the staff there are helpful, pleasant and take pride in presenting you with a decent drink. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the aircon works well. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The salad bar & bread selection are good.

Bad points - the pool bar has an awful stench of vomit all the time which you can smell on the bottles of warm water they hand out. The beer is watered down, the carbonated drinks are flat. The staff are in too much of a hurry to give any attention to what they serve, half-filled glasses and no ice are the norm. The hot food is school dinners standard at best. If you go for breakfast too early they serve up yesterday's stale pastries. They also recycle leftover cheese & meats into the salads for lunch. Our room was a 'family room' which had a view of a drainage channel and the underside of the steps to the higher blocks. Damp was coming through the walls and the shower merely dripped menacingly, alternating between scalding hot and freezing cold with psychopathic randomness. The music around the pool was too loud, the animation team rather lame, the entertainment repetitive and unimaginative. The evening entertainment was pathetic and because it took place in the 'theatre' it drew people away from the bar area and there was no atmosphere at all there.

We stayed at Club Orka in Ovacik last year and thought that Sunlife would be all Club Orka had to offer and more. In fact, they have taken everything that was good about Club Orka, dumped it in the bin and replaced it with the 'stack it high, sell it cheap' Benidorm mentality. We won't be back. 4 Star? Only the price is 4 Star, the rest 2 Star on a good day.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor in Jupiter or Neptune blocks. The others are up a massive flight of stairs whic...

Stayed for 10 nights in June. The hotel had only been open a few weeks. We had a sea view superior deluxe room for two, on the ground floor. The room was as brochured; modern, and high tech, with black floor tiles. Nice sized balcony. Tip to upgrade to sea view as standard rooms could end up looking at side of lifts or wall facing. Buffet food was of a very good standard, perfect for short stays. Look out for the fresh tuna and the super king size prawns. Ice creams served every afternoon to eat via poolside. No problems getting deck beds. Staff very friendly. Drinks of a good standard ( apart from the gin). Note the lift worked only occasionally, so if you are elderly and were in high blocks it would been a pain to keep waiting for shuttle bus. Entertainment a little cheesy. Hisanronu only 15 min walk away, or 5 min by bus. oludeniz about 15 min bus and not recomended to walk ( hour) as no real walking path. Overall will recommend. Defo 4.5 star
