Just got back from a week at the Mellis Beach and loved it!

We booked the hotel on the back of the great reviews on this website, then a couple of weeks before we left I came back on to see a couple of reviews complaining abot noise etc so was quite apprehensive!

When we arrived we were given a free drink at the bar as our room was not quite ready, then we were shown up to the room which was great, basic but very clean and tidy. We have stayed in Olu Deniz before at another 'basic' hotel but the Mellis Beach was much better. The Hotel is in a great location at the end of the main street but tucked away and the pool is a very peaceful place, considering how close you are to the action. One definate plus was the fact there was a shower cubicle in the bathroom, as many times when we have been away you end up with water all over the bathroom floor!

Regarding the noise at night, the first night we were there, the Tequila Bar was open until probably about 2am, and as you are so close of course you can hear the music, but to tell you the truth we were both so tired it didnt affect us. This was the latest we saw the Tequila Bar open, the other nights it was finishing up at about midnight. We were not affected at all by the karaoke bar, I didnt actually hear it at all over the course of the week.

The breakfast was great, dont expect a full english but there was olives, melon, cheeses, bread etc and tea/coffee. I am not looking for a fry up when Im on holiday and this was perfect for us, a Turkish breakfast in Turkey! You can get a fry up for an extra charge (I think) if you feel like it.

Olu Deniz is a great little town, more than enough going on but not too hectic. Hisoranou is only 15 lira or so in a cab and this is where you'll find your busier bars and clubs. Our favourite place to eat in Olu was the help Beach Bar on the beach, they make the best cocktails we could find! Another great spot was the Buzz Bar just along from the Help Beach Bar - a chilled out place for lunch or dinner. We did have to book for dinner though as its quite a popular bar.

We had a great holiday, the weather was fantastic and we were more than pleased with the Mellis Beach, considering the price we'd paid! Pauline and her staff are very helpful and will do anything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Remember, this is not a 4 star hotel, but a small family run place with just 12 rooms. Personally, I would rather stay somewhere like this.

Loved it!

We have just returned from this hotel June 2007. We specifically picked this hotel due to the excellent reviews posted on trip advisor. We wanted a relaxing holiday to unwind for a week hence we picked Olu deniz and this hotel. Olu deniz did not dissapoint, it has enough life about it to keep you thoroughly entertained. Unfortunately the hotel reviews were posted before the nightclub was opened underneath, worse still KARAOKE nightclub! Do not book at his hotel if you want any sleep before 3am. It is now surrounded by loud tequila bar at the end of the pool and a room full of wailing cats underneath it (sorry karaoke singers!) The previous reviews are still correct in all other areas, rooms are very basic but kept immaculate by a lovley maid every day. Pauline and her team are very friendly and attempt to cater to your every need. However we were dissapointed that when we arrived we were left standing on the street with no one to meet us at 8.00 am not what you want after a night flight ! every other drop off were warmly received by staff. The food and meals at the hotel are delicious and we highly recommend them.

Back to the noise the friendly staff at the nightclub assured us they are insulating the walls to improve the noise take it from us this will not be enough and you will still have the speakers from the tequila bar blasting into the complex. We even tried earplugs to no avail. A real shame that Pauline has allowed this to happen.

I traveled with my wife and 3 year old daughter recently to oludeniz
We have stayed at the Mellis beach twice before and were looking forward to our third visit.

However they have now opened a night club in the space underneath the hotel, this caused us real problems as our daughter was unable to sleep. Luckily Pauline and Selami (the owners) were as usual great hosts and moved us to alternative accommodation straight away.

The hotel was at the same standard as before and I would recommend it to young couples however I would not recommend the hotel anymore to those traveling with young children or to those who go to bed early as the noise from the club permeates the whole hotel.

This was my first visit to Turkey however my partner had visited Turkey on a number of occasions, visiting Maramaris and Icmeler. When the holiday finished she said that it was by FAR the best area that she had been too. We chose Mellis beach Hotel, this was as a result of looking at Trip advisor and the comments, When we arrived at Mellis Beach the staff instantly unloaded our bags and took them up to our room and sat us down with a complimentary drink, after a long days travelling this was very welcome. We ate at the restaurant at Mellis a number of times (The Sultan Pepper) and the food was always excellent, especially the Indian nights, the chef is special. There are a number of other other excellent restaurants in Oludeniz though including the Buzz Bar (great view) and Blue Dolphin.
The room at Mellis Beach was basic but was always spotlessly clean, there is air-con and en-suite. What else do you need?
The staff at Mellis couldnt do enough for you, I also didnt have to get up early to beat 'Ze Germans' to the sunbeds because there was a plentiful supply as the hotel is only small. Oludeniz itself is beautiful, the mountains and the lagoon. If you are lucky you may even see a turtle if you go out on the lagoon. It can get quite busy at the lagoon and so I preferred to stay at the Hotel pool but its definitely worth a visit. Nightlife is there if you want it, down by the beach however if you just prefer to have a drink and conversation then there are many nice bars to do just that.
All in all I absolutely loved Oludeniz, Mellis Beach and the people and have booked to go again this year. Thoroughly recommended!!!!

I have worked in Travel for 28 years and have stayed in many places, but the hotel Mellis Beach is in a class of its own. Its only small but it is so friendly and the restaurant is excellent, I stayed with my whole familly this year there was 8 of us my daughter and brother who were with us had stayed there before and guess what we are going back in 2007, The owners are Pauline and Selami, and with Pauline being english you never have any problems. Its near to the Beach and all the Bars so give it a try but leave the kids behind because its better for couples
