Recently got back from a 2 week stay in one of the villas located around the pool area. I have been to this hotel before, and unfortunately my experience albiet a good one, wasn't as pleasant as before on previous visits.
On arrival we were given our villa and on first glance it looks ok. However, they NEED SOME UPDATING. they look very dated. We had light sockets hanging off, lights not working, shower base was hanging off, and the plastic curved glass was cracked and had holes in it so it leaked, and looks as if had been like this for sometime. The bedside cabinet nearly gashed my arm, as it was cracked on the edge and left a pointy tip. The utensils were very poor. We were staying half board so it wasn't a real issue, but for people doing SC, its not good enough if you like to eat in.
The villas were visited each day by the maids, but on the face of it, all they seem to do was empty the bins and make the beds.I believe they mopped the floor every 2 days, but we had dirt left for over a week and they dont clean the shower/sink/bath. I know they are big villas, but we paid over £2600 for this holiday and expected better from the villas. We felt we needed to go out and buy some cleaning products, something to wash the dishes etc.we had a baby cot, and they never changed the sheets, we had to do that ourselves I do think travel agents/hotels should be forced to update photos each year and not use old generic ones. I do believe they are been refurbished next year? it shouldn't however take guest to point out obvious issues with the state of the rooms.

Food was ok as you expect, plenty of choice most nights and of decent quality.

Prices are reasonable i guess for a hotel, EFES was 8 lira, mixers were 12. kids coke however expensive at 4.50 lira for a small glass, you can buy 2.5 ltrs for 3.5 lira, so we used the room for that.
What i was disgusted by was the little shop next door. I dont know if this is owned by Orka as the same guy who does the photos works in the shop.....the last day they put the price up of a bottle of water from 0.5 to 0.75.if this is because the busy period has arrived, then that's a little naughty.
.
Kids club is poor, the women have little or no interest in the kids and were often caught on the phone or with there eyes shut.We hardly saw them come around the pool asking if they would like to do activities, and the only day they did. the kids came back asking for 10-20 lira to make things. This should be budgeted for and be free of charge.
entertainment was top notch, BBQ night was good, but dont expect preferential treatment if you are on HB and not paying cash. They put people from outside the hotel who pay the £15 at the front in the best seats.
Plenty of sunbeds the first week, but as people from London arrived (sorry southerners!), things started to hot up with putting towels out. We heard stories of someone putting towels out at midnight. If you didnt get up and put towels out around 7-8am ish, you had little or no chance of a getting beds. That reminds me.ORKA HOTEL get some new umbrellas, yours are shocking and dangerous.they look around 10 years old. - you have to remember the season is only a couple of months in.Pool down the bottom was ok, but for me, not cleaned enough, and definitely the pool area needs to be cleaned throughout the day as it gets messy very quickly.

Would i stop here again? maybe in a few years if and when they upgrade the place. get some better kids club staff, and update the pool area with some new equipment, put some staff on around the pool. Twice i saw accidents caused by people floundering the slide rules and going mad
Whilst its very nice it needs some money spending on the villas if they are to keep up the good reviews. I was flabbergasted they just passed the 4 star and nearly got 5! This hotel is a decent 3 star with elements of a 4 star
I had to laugh at one of the comments saying ORKA provide and own the inflatables. They dont, they are left behind be residents.

As for the area,20 min walk downhill to hisaranou where you will find lots of bars and shops, fun fair.
Prices are cheap if you look around, but the main bars charge 8 lira upwards for an efes, dearest was 10 lira for a efes and 25 for a J D and coke at the zombie bar. I saw one bar charge 6 lira. Average "decent" meal out was about 15-20 lira for a main, 6-7 for a starter.30 lira upwards for a decent steak, so good value.
Haggling for deals has gone down, most shops are not keen, deals can be made, but not like they used to. You cannot help but feel they adjust the prices to suit the exchange rate.

A visit to the salikent gorge is a must, we have been there fours times now, and its amazing.

If you self self catering, go out of ORKA, turn left and cross the road to Friar Tucks. The breakfast is amazing, home made chips, English ingredients, well worth the 17 lira. The post office bar left or ORKA does the best cocktails.

you will enjoy your stay at this hotel no doubt, but it has lost its way just a tad

Room Tip: If you like you TV, the channels are in ENGLISH, you just need to change to change the default lang...

Yet again another brilliant holiday, thanks Orka, this was are 3rd year of going to orka love the staff, hotel and area. Yes the wifi is poor but your on holiday put your phone away, relax and enjoy.
We have made some great friends who we meet year after year, who are holiday at the same time as us, Orka is like one big happy family, Staff can't do enough for you haji, Steve, muzzy ,irfan, medet, list can go on.
The new water park is a must, reception phone them and they come and pick you up free of charge, very clean and friendly, about £12 pp a good day for kids,
We were half board, but we did eat out a few times our favourite is Lemmon tree , service great food really nice.
Shopping best place for shoes is shoe shoe he only charges £7 for converse vans and toms yes they are fake but last about 9-12months not bad for the price.
Be aware of the airport going back if over weight it is £15 per kilo, go empty buy your bargains, see your rep and pay for extra on way back, before you fly and your be ok.
Are thoughts and prayers go to one of the bar staff who we really did miss, saw him for a few days.xx

Room Tip: Yes can be noisy but what with the heat and busy days as soon as head hits pillow soon asleep

Just back from a 9 day break here. Facilities great, staff friendly, area brilliant and overall stay world class. Only minor grumble is beds are are a bit hard. In the area hotel will organise private transfers to private beaches which are sandy in oludeniz. Restaurants nearby that are brilliant are three cheers who do immense Turkish food and have great service. Also saffron worth a mention. If you want waterpark turn left out of hotel and walk ten minutes to hotel grand ucel...it's cheaper and no transfer. Also jeep safari is great. All in all thus is a great resort for families. Magnificent.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near bar area if you want to sleep before 12. They put on party nights.

First time staying in Ovacik/OluDeniz/Fethiye (this part of Turkey) and I must say it was brilliant and would love to go back next summer if rooms are available (it books up quickly) Arrived early evening on Tuesday and ate in the Hotel's a la carte restaurant in the evening, food was good not outstanding but considering the relative cheapness of the food it was good value! The room was spotlessly clean and came with a terrace couldn't fault the room! The staff are possibly the funniest/friendliest and most helpful I've ever come across, they are what make the hotel so so so brilliant! Distance between the pools/bars/reception are all manageable! The Wifi is poor in the rooms but works okay in reception but if youre not using it much then it isn't a problem at all. The room had a fridge in it which was handy for cooling the water we bought (local small supermarket 1.5L fo 1 lira) Bed + Breakfast was our board, would recmmomend that over half board due the quality of local restaurants near by! Overall a great experience! :)

Room Tip: Standard rooms will be near the bar which plays music till around midnight if not later on some occa...

The hotel is clean the location isnt the best about a 15/20 minute walk to Hisaronu you can get the bus outside of the hotel which cost''s 3 TL into Hisaronu or 3.50TL into Oludeniz, the beach at Oludeniz is beautiful. The negatives are the noise from the bar, the noise from the bar is horrific and the music is distorted because the volume is so high, the buffet can be a bit of a scrum, but if you go for the al la carte menu you can get a fantastic meal for around 120.00TL for two courses for two people including a bottle of wine, water and beer (less than £30.00).

Room Tip: ask for a room furthest from the bar area

This was our first trip to turkey and we decided to stay at the Orka hotel, We were not disappointed at all. We arrived late Sunday night and the staff showed us quickly to our room and left us to it, our first reaction was oh no please, we were right next to the bar literally could get a drink passed over to us and it was karaoke night - not to worry we nipped out grabbed some food got back about 1.30am and it was still going strong, eventually at about 3am the music stopped, to be honest though we thought about moving but the location for breakfast and the pools was great, so we decided to stick it out, to be honest even with all the party nights on, we managed to get to sleep before the music stopped, but can see how this could annoy some people. The staff were great, very attentive to our needs, the bar staff were fantastic and would happily chat away with you, play games with you and make some great drinks.. They certainly were not shy (except when bar manager was there then the atmosphere was not great - he needs to lighten up a little and understand the staff get better tips and happier people by letting them be themselves. ) The pools were all clean and tidy, we didn't see anyone doing any water checks but then we didn't spend every second of the day around the pools. The lifeguard was great, aqua aerobics was for about half an hour and volleyball usually lasted about an hour and normally around 3/4 pm. Worth getting involved in! Didn't use the spa as the prices seemed high compared to other places around, the staff got a little annoying trying to get us to go, but after we said no to them a couple of times they backed away.
Please don' get excited about the WIFI it is pretty poor, you are better nipping to local cafe and using theirs to be honest, it is very random sometimes you get messages/internet other times you don't every now and then we picked it up in our room and occasionally around the top pool, reception was probably the best place and around the bar was no chance.
We stayed in room 215 and had no issues with it, very clean very tidy and cleaners did an excellent job and were in every day. Sheets and towels changed daily. One nice surprise was we had a fridge in our room, lovely to have cold bottles of water in (we got ours from the mini-market on site 1.5l for 1 lira)
Breakfast was a buffet, with plenty of choice, no issues there even for fussy eaters.. the pancakes are a must! Overall very satisfied with the hotel and will 100% be back again

Room Tip: 215 is VERY close to the bar, maybe ask for a room closer to reception but most rooms do look out on...
