“THE real TURKish Delight”
Reviewed 1 May 2010

Me, go to Turkey? Never! With her indoors insistent on trying it, I finally agreed to give it a go.

Chose this hotel because it was voted No. 1, had such excellent reviews and quite honestly was so cheap, I had nothing to lose.

Arrived to be greeted by Adam who showed us to our room at which I was pleasantly surprised. It was spotless, well presented and fresh, looked as if had recently been refurbished.

Got up in the morning, breakfast consisted of cereal, juice, toast, boiled eggs, cheeses, olives, cold meat and salad, coffee, tea and plentiful supply of fresh bread, which was more than enough. However a full English was available for an extra £4 and was enough for 2.

A range of food was available throughout the day, outstanding in both quantity, quality and price.

The entire complex including pool and bar was meticulously clean , well presented and maintained.

The staff gave better service than I have had in many 5 star hotels and catered to your every need, nothing was to much trouble and they made everyone feel like a part of the family.

In terms of location, everything you needed was within a 5 minute walk. Good range of restaurants and bars although found price and quality to be better in the hotel than anywhere else in the vacinity. That, coupled with the atmosphere created by the staff made it a place you don't need to leave.

Me, go to Turkey? If the hotel has availability, count me in for next year.

best hotel we have stayed in,very friendly and very helpful. We was there 3 weeks due to the iceland volcano eruption Lily and staff was very kind and understanding. She did allow use of the internet and tried her best to keep our costs down for the extra week. The hotel is so clean it puts my house to shame! Food very good especially the fish. They try their best to entertain with turkish nights, music, bingo, football and even pool where everyone could join in (watching Malcom dance was priceless) All staff especially Lily and Adem were lovely,it was a shame to leave!!

Stayed at this Hotel in April of this year. First impressions are that this is a really pretty Hotel and good for accomodation in Turkey. The pool area is very nice, even though we prefer to go on the beach.
We only booked Bed and Breakfast but found this is to very average, with bread, jam. eggs, cheese, salad. The dining room was run like an army camp with 3 young people constantly taking your crockery the minute you finished. At 10am prompt the whole servery was taken away and the coffee machine was switched off!! Lily said "finished".
The meals served on a night were reasonable but the portions were not substantial enough and therefore we ate elsewhere. Again the food on Turkish night was reasonable but not exceptional.
The bedrooms are small but adequate, the bathrooms are good with power showers, but sometimes there was not any hot water in the morning.
The rooms are good for the grade of accomodation, but the bedding was poor and we only got 1 towel each in the bathroom. We did often wonder if the bedding ever got changed during our stay.
We went out most days and in the evenings, there would always be loud music playing in the bar by the pool until early hours and we sometimes struggled to get to sleep.
Unfortunately we got the impression that the owners wanted everyone to spend their money in the bar/hotel and that by playing loud music, everyone would congregate there.
Not everyone wants to do that every evening and other people mentioned that they felt guilty if they went out!!
We got stranded there because of the Iceland Volcano eruptions and found that we needed to stay for extra nights as our flight was cancelled. We booked an extra night and payed £25 for the room. We stayed 1 night and then booked alternative accomodation in Ovacik as we were outraged that we could have gone on the net and booked a room in the Turk for £10.87 a night with our original provider!!
We just felt that Lily was trying to make a fast buck out of a difficult situation and found that there were plenty of other hotels offering rooms on the internet of similar standard much cheaper. When our friends asked her if they could use the internet they were told no! Needless to say that after our extra night we moved.
Olu Deniz is a lovely resort but on principle we would not stay in The Turk again.
We loved Kaya Koy( the ghost village), a visit to Fethiye market is a must. Make sure you take a trip to the mud baths at Dalyan - fantastic - we booked with Gravity on the front.
A visit to the Blue Lagoon is worthwhile, but we didn't find it as impressive as it appears in the brochures.
A lovely place to eat is the Four Seasons in Ovacik
We will be going back to Olu Deniz, but we will be booking elsewhere on our next trip.

A two star hotel, typical of many in the coastal regions of Turkey. Food on half-board was varied and traditional cuisine and whilst not the largest of portions was extremely tasty and good value. The a la carte menu did offer very much larger meals, which were very good, particularly the fish dishes for a very reasonable price. Accommodation provided various size rooms, we were in a small twin bedded room with a new shower/bathroom. Rooms cleaned regularly although we were unsure about bedsheet changes..Pool and pool bar area was excellent with the staff encouraging socialising and dancing at all times including Turkish dancing which was good fun. Drinks were 4.5 lira for a half litre of beer and approx 9 lira for imported spirits, slightly cheaper than the rest of resort. Lily the manageress prides herself in assisting guests with any issues at all including arranging taxis and trips. A small/medium hotel (7 min walk from beach) with sociable staff who try to make your holiday special and memorable.

We travelled as an extended family group and stayed in this hotel for two weeks at the beginning of April. The hotel website promises that the accommodation will be 'home from home' and that was certainly what we were greated with. Everyone in Lily's team worked tirelessly to try and make everyone happy and you left the hotel feeling that you had made some real friends.

It must be remembered that this is only a two star small hotel and it is only right that it should be judged as such. It would be unrealistic to expect the same amenities that would be available to you if you paid a lot more money to upgrade. What you will get however is a really warm welcome, well cooked delicious food, and staff that would do anything to try and make their guests happy.

well done to Lily and the team for developing a little gem of a hotel, can we wish you all the success you deserve for the future.

The hotel is well positioned, just off the resort's main street, the rooms are cleaned daily as are towels(one per person!) and flower petals sprinkled on the floor for you to pick up.
Rooms are just big enough with small balconies, the breakfast is basic but be early because when the food runs out they do not re-fill,the breakfast room is run like an army camp with staff walking the isles waiting to quickly remove empty plates, cups etc.
You can eat at night in their restaurant which is very good but limited menu and no food or drink is allowed in the rooms.
We wre staying during the Icelandic volcano eruptions and they were quick to charge £25 per room per night for the extra days,be careful with drinks charged to your room.
We loved the resort but would never stay at the Turk Hotel again.

The hotel was so clean and nice much better than any 2 star I've stayed in. The staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for you and made our stay so enjoyable. lily's great and looks after everyone as does Malcolm. We will definately go back and stay there again in fact we can't wait. The Turkish night was really good fun and the food was lovely and it was brilliant value only £10 per person. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The location was great too, only 5 mins from a lovely sany beach and lots of shops bars and resturants nearby. We were sad to leave. From Julie, Jamie and Kiera
