“The Best Time In Olu Deniz”
Reviewed 24 November 2010

We had a great time at the Turk this year and recommend it. Lily is the tour de force and nothing is too much for her or Hussain for that matter.

The hotel is very clean, the rooms basic but adaquate. The breakfast is turkish which takes some getting used to but this is the same with the other hotels in the area. I noted that Lily and her family eat exactly the same breakfast as us everyday as did the hotel staff. There are cereals or you can buy an 'Full Englsh' if you want - the same as the other hotels in the area.

Much is said about late night partying in reviews on Olu Deniz. When we were there the Turk was actually very quiet at night but Olu Deniz is lively as a whole up to 1am when it all calms down. Now Lily is good I will give her that but even she can not stop noise from other hotels or bars. But she did moderate the noise in the bar.

Evening meals are turkish in nature but err... this is turkey! Again Lily, her family and staff eat the same food so if its good enough for them! Then again the bar menu is enough to keep you topped up and the chips are real 'handmade' chips!

What must be remembered that the Turk is a Hotel - not an entertainment centre. IF you want the entertainment aka 'Pontins' type holiday then try one of the larger hotels and go self inclusive. If you just want to do your own thing then Turk is an excellent option.

Olu Deniz its self is a lovely place, it does have everything we needed. The people are friendly and helpful. There were no high pressure sales staff, and shopping was a joy. The food was really good and we noticed that the bar staff remembered us when we went back the next day.

Lunch time at cloud 9 is excellent, having lunch with paragliders coming in just feet away at times is a strange experience - Keep your camera ready!

If anything, if you don't find Olu Deniz livily enought at night, then you could always get a Domus up to Hisaronou, Just rememeber what time the last one is back to Olu Deniz!

All in all, a great time, would we go again? yes and we would stay at the Turk.

stayed at the Turk for a week, single traveller.Lovely couple who run the hotel Lilly and Hussain.Good food, accomodation ok.Was near the end of the season. Can be very noisy when trying to sleep due to being close to the bars.No copy right laws in Turkey so lots of copy watches bags etc in the shops along the road to the beech.Takes a couple of hours to get there by tranfer, however, during the day a ok trip. The hotel could do with a new pool table.Overall a worthwhile holiday quiet if you want or noisy if younger and wanting music.

Nice, small hotel run by a family. Quiet when we were there as coming to the end of the season so not much on entertainment wise...
In a great spot, right near the main strip and all the shops and restaurants, a tad noisy at night due to the shadows bar (loud music), but that didn't stop us from sleeping. Rooms were spotlessly clean, maids did a wonderful job, towels always arranged differently with petals scattered on the beds, very pretty and thoughtful.
We had a great room, not sure about some of the others, balconies looking into the dining room?! Ask for room 115' that would be one of the nicest ones.
Overall, a great little hotel, nice staff, great location, we'ed go back there again, so can't be bad!

After wondering which hotel to book in Olu Deniz and reading the reviews on here we plumped for this one and we never regretted our choice. It was well positioned on a quiet road just off the main pedestrianised area and only a few minutes walk to the beach.

The hotel is a small family run business and as such i think Lily and and everyone were keen to do the best they could for the guests. I'd seen about the so called dungeon rooms so i asked for an upstairs room which was what we got , and it had a nice view from the balcony overlooking the small garden and bourganville creeping flowers.
The room though quite small was cleaned every day and had a good shower. The air conditioning was also very good and was included in our price for the room. We had a surprise one day when we returned to find the cleaners had decorated the bathroom with a scattering of the bourganville flowers which was a really pleasant surprise and showed that extra effort from staff.
The self service buffet breakfast was always nice, but could have benefited from some extra things like grapefruit segments and yogurt, a full english breakfast was available for an extra cost but we didn't try it prefering the continental style instead.
We were on a half board tariff but ate a couple of evening meals in the hotel which were fine and we recommend the 3 course set menu for anyone on a tight budget, at 15tl it was very good value as we found eating out a bit more expensive than we thought it would be.
We enjoyed the hotels Turkish night with all the tables arranged around the small swimming pool, at which you got a glass of wine and a 3 course meal for only £10. I said it in english money as alot of places advertised things in £'s and if you asked for it in Lira it more than doubled, a poor exchange rate and it would be worth having both currencies with you on holiday and not just Turkish Lira. The traditional dancers and belly dancer were good fun and plenty of people were game for a laugh and pulled up to the front show a few moves (me included!)
There seemed to be quite a few people at the bar on an evening who had been at the hotel before but we found the bar staff just as friendly with us and saw no evidence of the so called 'click', even though we only drank there sometimes at the end of the evening and never all night.
Our departure from the hotel was at 3am but Lily's husband waited up especially to see us off and make sure we got our taxi ok.
I would recommend this hotel and would go back if we return to Olu Deniz, just remember to ask for an upstairs room and you should be fine, the place is not 5 star but then you don't pay 5 star prices either

just got back from the turk hotel last week,, so glad we only went for a week!! the room we had first was like a dungon when we asked for another it was a bit better but we were over looking the dining room, we had to keep our curtains close as diners would see us! the food was often cold and boring great if you love chips and rice. it was very noisy and you couldnt get to sleep till early hours. if you didnt stay at the hotel to spend your money they didnt want to know you, they seemed to be people who visited the turk often so if your face didnt fit well you might not be there! we loved the resort but shame about the turk.

I stayed at Turk hotel a week ago with my husband and I have to say that it's been the best week of our lives. We had just got married so this was our honeymoon and we couldn't have hoped for a better holiday abroad (us being from the UK). The staff were very friendly at all times (including when we got there at 5 am and the owner of the hotel was sleeping in the reception room so we woke him up). We had an amazing time at the pool which was very clean and warm. The room was also very clean. The only thing is that there are two neon-lamps above the bed which sort of replace some bedside lamps and to be honest, they're the worst I've seen yet, the light they provide is awful. We only had bed and breakfast so I can't really comment on the food but we did eat our dinner at the hotel one night and it was good. A really good thing about the hotel is that it's just off the main noisy street. As for the prices, if you book the hotel through Travel Republic it's quite cheap, around £50/person/week and the prices at the hotel are just as high as they are in the rest of Olu Deniz, I honestly wasn't aware of how expensive Turkey has become, more than the UK I dare say.

This hotel is in a great location with excellent views. The staff can not do enough for you.
There seems to be a lot of people that return to this hotel which speaks for itself and they were a great source of advice of where to eat and visit.
When i read other reviews before we went to this hotel about the so called click we found that this was not the case it is just a friendly atmosphere.
The staff do not hassle you to eat in the hotel but there food is very good when we tried it. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and even the bottled water was a similar price to the supermarkets which is usually not the case.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the showers were one of the best that we have had just like been at home.
We will be definately be returning to this hotel
