“Brill Holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2013

My family have just returned (only yesterday) from the Pine Valley hotel, after staying half board for 2 weeks. I have never written on the trip advisor before, but I have seen a comment, that I thought was unfair, unjust and unkind...... so I want to give you the TRUTH about this hotel.

We are a family of 4, with two children aged (nearly 9, and nearly 5). The moment were arrived were welcomed by JJ the porter who immediately took our cases. We walked past the bar area to get to our rooms and we were welcomed by a couple of workers who shook our hands. The family rooms were modern, and clean. We had a good sized double bed, and the children had a separate room with bunk beds. The bathroom was a good size, bright and modern. The shower water was not cold, but luke warm especially at peak rate times. But if you had a shower during the day it was hot. Our room was near the bar, and because of the good double glazing we could not hear any noise, only if you opened your patio door.

Breakfast is served from 8am - 10am, with plenty of variety, and you help your self. Evening dinner is served from 8pm -10pm (which we did think was a little late, from 7pm - 9pm would have been better)
It was buffet style, helping your self. There was plenty of salad's, choice of soup, and the bread is freshly baked, as in a morning. You had a choice of 3 main meals, which varied from night to night. All very tasty, and often cooked fresh on the grill. You had a choice of 6 / 7 different sweets. There is a lovely BBQ night, which was very popular, and fantastic meat.
The only down side is, from approx. 8pm - 8.30pm (when is goes dusk) you are pestered with wasps when eating, because you are so close to the pine trees. If you sit away from the trees it is not so bad, but as soon as it goes dusk, they disappear. ( You can time your watch by them)

There was entertainment during the day, aqua aerobics, zumba, darts, waterpolo, air rifle. Evening entertainment, always started with the kids dancing (see below) and there was a fire show (very good), Kenyan dancing, break dancing, 3 waiter's doing the full monty (they don't take everything off!!!), bingo, with a chance to win a free holiday for a week for 2 people, free massages, cocktails etc . A foam party and also a film night......

There is a spa down stairs, which I never used, but I was told it was very good.

The best bit was the brilliant kids club, which is run by (british) Chris (the manager) and Lauren The first day we had a look round, the ladies were very friendly, it was very clean, nice and cool, and well run. It was open from 10.30 - 12.30 and again 1.30 - 4.30, also some nights they had a film night and a chocolate party night. The cost was £15.00 per child and half price for any siblings. Well worth the money..... My children usually went in the afternoon, where they played games, made pizza's did arts and crafts, played on the wii and watched films etc. It was professionally run, by signing in and out, and there was cctv camera's as well. My children absolutely loved this. Some nights at around 9.30 Chris would do party dancing at the bar, YMCA, Char Char etc .

We found the bar staff friendly, and we always tried to say hello, please, thankyou, good morning, good night etc they really did appreciate it. They work very hard from morning to night, some speak better English than others, but all are very helpful.

The maids come into the room every day to clean and change the towels. They did not speak good English, but if you try a little saying hello in Turkish they are very happy. They were always cleaning around the hotel in the afternoon, brushing/mopping etc.

There are 2 pools, one a medium sized, and the other on the lower terrace where the water sides are. The water slides are open from 11-12, then 2-4pm. Which is ample. There were plenty of sunbeds for everyone, but we liked the same spot so we went down at 8 o clock ish, with the towels. The pool area's are kept clean and you can only have drinks in plastic glasses, for the obvious reason.

Opposite the hotel is not a building site but an area of open ground, the pavements are a good drop (maybe a foot) from the road, but they are all like this, and this does not reflect on the hotel in anyway. (most places abroad are like this anyway).

We did have a walk into the town quite a bit at night, which is only a 5-10 minute walk. We did go into the Flares bar (almost on a daily basis) to have a lovely cocktail, or even a quick snack at lunch time, as they were cheaper than the hotel food. Veysi and his brothers own the bar, they are lovely people, speaking very good English.

Do the jeep safari, brill day out, and lots of fun. We also went to sugar beach for the day, and we did a boat trip. All very much recommended....
Overall we all loved it there, and would recommend anyone to stay here. WE MISS YOU XXXX

I have been to Turkey many times but this hotel has been the best by far. we travelled 2 adults and 2 children. We stayed in the new block so were lucky enough to get a nice new family room.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the kids loved Brian (the entertainments team leader)
He was like the pied piper.... always a trail of children following him around. Regardless of his long days, Brian always had a smile and time to stop and talk to everybody. He always made an effort to get everybody involved.
We had a night flight so arrived late with the children, we were greated by Jay-Jay who is the most friendly/helpful doorman. He insisted on carrying all our luggage. He spoke with us everyday, even teaching the kids turkish words.
We stayed half board, i must say the food was lovely, breakfasts would very from pancakes to omletes and always ceral, fresh fruits, cakes, buscuits and traditional turkish breakfast.
Evening meals was a buffet which was different every day. There would always be a chef their cooking something on a grill too so basically lots of choice.
If you have kids, the entertainment in the evening is great for them, karokee, to dancing. Our kids loved it.
The only one thing i would say that i wasnt particularly impressed with was the monitoring of the slides. Even though there was somebody at the top who was supposed to be telling people when to come down I found that this wasnt always happening as the chap was often distracted talking to teenagers (girls mainly) as a result kids where coming down too close together and injuring themselves.

Room Tip: if yo have aa problem with your room when you arrive, tell the staff at reception who changed rooms...

My husband, son and myself stayed at this hotel from 15th-25th July and I can honestly say that I was very sad to leave. We arrived late evening and we were given a promising first impression of the hotel by a friendly member of staff named 'J J' who carried our suitcases to our room (612). Our room was spacious and very clean - we were in a family room which slept up to 6 so, for 3 of us, this was fine. We did not experience any problems with our room at all and the service from our maid, Daria, was outstanding. She left a beautiful arrangement of swans surrounded by fresh flowers on our bed on the Monday and an equally lovely heart arrangement on the other bed. At no time did we encounter any rudeness or indifference from any of the staff - I would say it was precisely the opposite! They are such lovely people which makes all the difference to your stay. Brian was excellent at keeping us entertained - I had a great laugh doing the water aerobics!
As we were staying at the hotel on a B & B basis, I cannot comment on the evening meals (we wanted to try the different restaurants in the village) but the breakfast choice more than catered for our needs with fresh fruit, toast, boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, salami, cheese and pancakes/omelettes occasionally. We ate some lunchtime snacks from the pool bar menu and these were delicious. The hotel is also in an excellent location, near enough to local amenities but just far away enough from any nightlife noise. A free bus is available at the hotel to take you to 'Billy's Beach' which is by the famous 'Blue Lagoon' in Olu Deniz - this must not be missed as it is absolutely stunning and the lagoon waters are calm and clear (ideal for children). The main beach at Olu Deniz is very pebbly and very uncomfortable underfoot - I would recommend buying a pair of 'sea shoes'. There is also a steep slope into the sea at this end - definitely not ideal for the less mobile or small children.
If you fancy eating out, Hisaronu has a large selection of restaurants to cater for every taste - we were able to eat in a different restaurant every evening and there was not one bad meal between any of them! The two day trips that we went on, '12 Islands' and the boat trip to 'Turtle Beach' along the Dalyan River were both great experiences. We went with Thomas Cook but there are many local tour operators in the village - 'Ali Baba' tours was recommended to us afterwards by a couple we met at the hotel. If you are prone to getting bitten by mozzies, DON'T forget to use repellent in the evening and take a spray with you as I made the mistake of leaving it off early on in our holiday and found, to my annoyance, that the local mosquitoes liked me - a lot!
When it came to leaving, I didn't want to go - there are so many things to see and do in this area and I have already said to my husband that 'I really, REALLY want to go back to Pine Valley next July' so I hope we will return next summer!

Went to pine valley in June 2013 for 2 weeks with family members. Ive never been Turkey before and when we first arrived and was shown to our rooms I wasn't sure at first as the room was very small and I felt abit cramped. But apart from that the hotel was brilliant, staff was the best will never forget them, they were very helpful and always had a great laugh with them. Not once was they rude or miserable. The Turkish bath was amazing and I would highly recommend it, the pools were really nice, we was by the downstairs pool with the water slides most of the time as the kids and adults really enjoyed it. Food was good especially the bbq night and the entertainment was good. Im relieved we picked this hotel as others in the area didn't look as good as this one, pine valley is a brilliant hotel and some of my family members have already booked to go there again next year so might go back myself!

Room Tip: I would recommend upgrading to the newer block as I learnt that the wifi signal is good as it dosnt...

From the day we arrived, to the day we left, we couldn't fault it. The staff were fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble. They bent over backwards to make sure you were happy and they absolutely loved the children. Such brilliant value for money. Would definitely go back. The spa at the hotel was also well worth the money.

Once again had a great holiday at Pine Valley Hotel Hisaronu. After having read other reviews which were mainly good, felt a couple of the reviews were a bit harsh. To say the staff were rude and unfriendly is unbelievable. The staff at Pine Valley go that extra mile to ensure you have a good holiday. They are very jokey and friendly and enhance the stay there. Of course if you are unfriendly and rude to them you will not get such a good response. We found them very helpful too. The food is very good. We go half board and there is a lot of variety. There is a certain amount of English food and Turkish. After all you are in a foreign country so you do not expect burgers chips and pizzas all the time. (These are actually available if required). Food is not allowed to be taken into the hotel from outside which is the case in a lot of hotels we have experienced.

The entertainment is very good especially the BBQ night. Brians act was very amusing with audience participation. The firedance was also very good.

The rooms are quite small, especially as we had our daughter in the same room but at the end of the day how much time do you spend in your room. The rooms and the whole hotel are spotlessly clean. They did have a problem for a few days with the hot water system re showers but this was soon rectified. We have never experienced this before so this must have been a one off.

All in all once again a good holiday there and we would like to say a big thankyou from the three of us to all the staff for making it a very good holiday.x
