Wow have just got back from a fantastic 3 week break with Jet2 holidays, staying at the Karbel Beach Hotel, 39c and rising whew.

Where to start? having read past reviews i thought we where in for a difficult and uncomfortable stay, how wrong could we have been.

This hotel must have undergone a winter refurbish, as everything looked new or newish, from the startling white reception and even whiter restaurant (keep you shades on), through to the pool area and sun loungers and parasols, though they let them selves down by not changing the table clothes as regular as they should have done, but more later.

Bedrooms where large, clean and well appointed, large double bed, two sofa's large wardrobe with enough coat hangers to house Next, and plenty of drawers, a good sized fridge with tiny ice tray, and the smallest colour t.v. I have ever seen, but every thing worked.
The bathroom was big and clean, all white suite looked new and shower was big enough for two to share.
Maid service every day, but linens changed only twice a week, maybe it was because it was the start of the season, towels changed most days, the bed has a sheet and a counter pain though if you are chilly there is a large woolly blanket in the wardrobe, so all in all the room if fine, the balcony is small, but who lives on a balcony eh!

I had read that folks where sick of the constant Chicken on the Menu, I think what you must realise is that this is Turkey and also a Muslim country so certain meats are off the menu, yes there was a lot of chicken served and it was very well cooked (not on the premises) but there was also Lamb, fish,Goulash and Kebab also so enough choice to keep everyone happy.
salad bar was huge also the sweet selection, plus fruit, by the end of the stay we had reduced our portions to minimal as there is so much choice, so watch your waist line.

Breakfast was also a Turkish affair, boiled eggs, toast, cheeses and cold meats, plus olives and yogurts, fruit and cereals.
Twice a week you had also fried eggs and omelettes, English breakfast was available if you missed it that much but was an extra at 9tl (£3).

The staff in my opinion where not very attentive and rather slobbing dressed it felt more like a cafe than a hotel restaurant.
At this point may I add that the manager is not very tolerant and a bit of a Hitler type person, many guests I spoke to where of the same accord.
Please do not take any water of fruit juice to breakfast, despite the horrendous sugary water coloured liquid that is dispensed from a machine that produces red/blue orange juice( when was it last cleaned?) as you will be pounced upon and humiliated by said manager in front of guests.

While we stayed Tea bags where removed from breakfast so the option was very strong stewed Turkish Tea, ok it is Turkey so you put up with different Tea, but why take away your choice?
Coffee is dispensed from a vending machine, though again this broke down three times and we where left with a kettle and instant coffee, two choices black coffee or coffee with cream (power).

I think they had overspent on the refurbishment and had to cut corners elsewhere.

Please do not get me wrong as breakfast was a pleasant enough experience and we never left hungry, so enjoy and make your own mind up.

The pool is not the biggest but it is very clean (cleaned every morning around 6am), there is a shower room with toilet but you have to get the key from reception, again clean and modern, even a sofa if you need a rest!
I think in high season you will struggle for a Sun lounger, as there was not enough to go around
while we stayed, but the beach was only a five minute stroll away and enough sand to fill a desert, sun lounger and parasols payable locally are aplenty.

In the broucher it mentioned 'table tennis and table football' these however where not available.
only free pool, this could be an issue as is available 24hrs and if you have a room close by then sleep will be off the menu, also background music is an issue as it is played all day and into the early morning, due to how many people are in the bar area, so again an early night is not going to happen.Music is suppose to be turned off at 12 midnight!

The hotel is situated as I have said about a 5 minute walk to the beach and a shorter walk to the main strip, where you will find all the restaurants and bars plus travel agents and other shops.

Couple of tips if you a trip lover then the cheapest is called 'Bloody Gorgeous', situated very close to AZDA, and if you book two or more trips then he will throw in a free Turkish Bath (recommended) or a Sunset cruise,
e.g. Dalyan trip was £13 with him (£32) with reps very recommended day out, 6 Island boat trip (11am -6pm) with a good lunch was £8 (£15 with rep) take you camera and swimming gear.
The only trip I would not recommend is the trip to Pamukkale is a 13 hour day, all bit two hours spent on the bus, with side trips to 'factories', the actual Pamukkale is horrendously busy with thousands of tourists and the majority of the pools are closed to public due to overuse.THere is very little shade is take a hat or brolley,IT IS VERY HOT.
Though the Roman ruins make up for the day.the price via rep would have been £42 but with the agent only £23 again lunch and breakfast is provided, do not be put of by what the reps tell you as all the agents are regulated and are very much above board.
If you are a Paragliding person then this is the place for you with a 40 minute flight costing £42 for a tandem flight, at 5000ft it is an incredible scenic flight landing in the reort, go with Gravity as they are THE best.
If you only want to see them take off them grab a Dolmis from the bus stop and for 11.5tl (each way) you will go to the very top of Babadag mountain (1 hour drive) and watch them take off, (take a lunch with you and a jumper), there is a cafe/bar at the top so you can spend all day , the views are to die for, the bus runs every hour up and down the first in the morning is at ten and the last down is 6pm, go where few other travelers go.

All in all both Hotel and the resort are first class.

The hotel operates a cash free zone, you are given a credit card and everything bought in the hotel is charged to it, you pay settle up daily or whenever but check and re-check your recipes.
Safety deposit boxes are available at reception and cost £10 per week.

There is no entertainment at this hotel but at the near bars you will find live music, belly dancers and a drag show to keep you entertained.

As I mentioned early food is not cooked on the premises but a sister hotel and is brought in at around 6.30pm, so this is why the food in not hot,I think only fried eggs/omelet is cooked plus whatever they serve in the snack bar, but no one had complained of food or tummy problems so please do not worry.

Well I hope my review will help you decide if the karbel Beach is for you, I hope you do go and enjoy what they have to offer.

Room Tip: Try for Block 3 as this is furthest form the pool table and bar area and music. Ask for a first/seco...

After reading other reviews we were wary about our choice, but were more than happy on arrival. Our room was basic but clean and the air con was great. It had been refurbished and looked good. The pool area was good with new loungers and umbrellas. The restaurant was good with great views of the hills around and the staff were friendly. The food was basic at breakfast and the evening meal was adequate. The location was excellent being handy for the main street and beach without being noisy. We are looking forward to a repeat visit.

Just returned from the Karbel BEACH Hotel, after being miss lead on which Karbel Hotel we were actually staying in. Yes, infact there are 3 different Karbel Hotels. Karbel hotel, Karbell beach and Karbel sun. So be warned of which hotel one to those you are actually booking in to. After all this kuffle we ended in the Karbel BEACH after actually believing we were in booked into the Karbel Hotel. Having a 10 day holiday booked, we carried on and made the most out of what we had. But what we had was very dismeral. Food was unsatifactory and boring. Near enough the same food every night and and morning. If you like boiled eggs every morning and chicken every night. Then this is the hotel for you. Not only was the actual food miserable the dining staff were to.
Over all this hotel was not up to standard of a normal 3 star rating hotel.
But the location and olu deniz itself is fantastic.
Just make sure you state what karbel you actually want to stay in because you can be disapointed if you stay in the karbel BEACH.

We have just got back from the Karbel Beach Hotel, very friendly staff and also very friendly happy chatty people staying here, and most have been here before, some have moaned about the food in the past, but according to those who were here last year there was a good improvement. My wife and I stayed in 407, the rooms are small but very nice, two beds with long sofa, shower etc., could say the towels aren't changed enough, every 3 days but room cleaned every day, although the top sheet is rough like a blanket and small, but the bed is fine, the hotel is in an ideal position just far enough from the strip of shops, the beach and dolmus's, making it quite Hotel away from the noise, but very quick and easy to get to everything. Hangliders constantly in the sky and very interesting to watch landing either on the beach or the promenade. The Thomson rep. Karen was a joy to be with always joining in with the conversation, I wanted to take her home, but the wife wouldn't let me. We have been staying at odd years in Hisaronaru over the last 10 years, so knew olu Deniz quite well, so found the strip a little daunting after a week. But you can use the dolmus to go to a couple of markets, ghost town, Hisoronaru, Fetiye etc. But all in all a very good value Hotel.
