Reviewed 31 July 2011

Myself and my husband stayed at the Belcehan hotel for 2 weeks at the beginning of July. When we arrived at the hotel we were checked in very quickly and were shown to our room. The room was basic but everything that we needed for our holiday. Good points of the room was that the shower was very powerful just what you need to refresh yourself after a hot day in the sun and there was plenty of cupboard space for your clothes. There was also a small balcony which was an added bonus. The swimming pool was really nice and we never had any problems getting a sunbed. We were on a bed and breakfast basis so we ate at the hotel most mornings. Breakfast was basic but again everything you would need including cereal. toast, eggs, cheese, ham and watermelon. A couple of times we went out for breakfast and ate at Rainbow which was just around the corner from the hotel, the breakfast was very nice and cost 5 turkish Lira. We also ate at the Rainbow restaraunt a couple of times for our evening meal, and we would definately recommend the set menu that they have there, also the cocktails were very good and cost only 8 Turkish Lira which seemed to be a little cheaper than other places.Other good places to eat were Phillips Bar, Swallows and the Secret Garden. We didnt really have a bad meal the whole time we were there. Olu Deniz is a beautiful place, the beach and lagoon are stunning. We went on a couple of trips which we booked through 'Guide Tours' which was just around the corner from the hotel, we booked it through Mehmet who was very helpful. We paid £10 each for the 6 Island trip, we had a nice small boat and it wasnt too full which was good, some of the other boats we saw were packed up and it didnt seem that the people on them had any room to move. Where as on our boat we had plenty of room. We stopped at Butterfly Valley where you could either sit on the beach or go for a walk to look for butterfiles, we chose to do the walk which cost us 5TL each, we only saw two butterflies and we saw a small waterfall, it was ok for what we paid. We then stopped a few times near different islands where you could do snorkelling, they provide you with the snorkelling mask if you dont have one. You get a meal on the boat which was chicken with a pasta salad and some bread, the meal was good and if you have any bread left you can throw it in to the sea where you will attract lots of fish. The second trip we did was the Dalyan trip which we paid £18 each. This was a great day, it was lovely cruising on the boat and was good fun seeing the turtles and visiting the mud baths. We also got a very good buffet meal included in the price. The only thing you had to pay for were your drinks. We also tried blue crab on the trip which we would recommend. We have been to Turkey several times but have always stayed in the Bodrum area, I think we prefered Olu Deniz as you dont get any hassle from the owners of the shops hassling you to buy something. We were able to browse without being bothered which was great, and the standard of the restaraunts were fantastic for what you pay.Overall we had a great time and would recommend the Belcehan Beach Hotel, the staff were helpful and friendly and we had no complaints.

Stayed here from 18th to 28th July 2011. Well yes this is one of those hidden jewels, Clean (no spotless) friendly and in the perfect spot,Yes the breckers may be a bit the same but when you are fed the sizes of meals dished up in Oludeniz who needs a big breakfast.
Thanks to Jeff at the bar and all the staff for making this a great holiday. The local restaurants are great too. Turn left out of the hotel go to the end of the street and turn left, about 75 yards towards the beach "Ata Lagoon" a great restaurant brill food and not too pricey, next one about another 100yards down is Philips Bar very good prices and good food, and finely not to be missed is Toscana just a bit further down, this is the Turkish Frankie and Bennys fab place to eat.
All in all A really great holiday

Great atmosphere at this hotel. The staff are all very friendly and make the effort to go out of there way to get to know you! Rooms r simple but cleaned daily & fresh towels everyday if you wish. Air conditioning is free! Just around the corner from the main strip of Olu Deniz & only a little further to the beach. Would highly recommend this hotel!

my husband and I visited belechan beach hotel in early june and loved it ,its such a friendly and peacefull place all the staff were very attentive ,rooms were bright and spotless clean, maids came in every day and even decorated our bed with rose petals (what a lovely touch). jeff made the best mojito !! iron fist made me a rose at breakfast because he cant make a mojito although he did make me laugh at his attempt ,lots of bars and restaurants around hotel, JOSEPH'S indian is the best indian i have ever had anywhere abroad and the staff are first class very reasonable prices too you gotta try it !!! went to HARRYS bar for a meal and was NOT impressed !! terrible service and they couldnt even use the excuse that they were busy !! food was "ok". blue lagoon is beautiful but pick the end with wooden sunloungers as its easier to get into water the side with white loungers is VERY pebbly and sore on the feet this was our first trip to oludeniz and we loved it ,its a beautiful peaceful holiday we will return

Room Tip: third floor pool view and double bed excellent !!

Stayed for a week at the Hotel 17th to 24th July and had a brilliant relaxing holiday.
Belcehan Beach is in an excellent location and a short walk to the main strip to the right when you leave the hotel, to the left is the main road from Hisaranu which as a number of restaurants leading down to the beach and tend to be a bit cheaper than the ones on the strip and to be honest more friendly and a better personal touch with the service etc.
Hotel rooms on the small side but are kept very clean and the breakfast very basic but still ok. One niggle was when we asked if we could keep the room on as we were getting picked up around 7pm (£24) we were told that it was not possible as they had someone arriving that afternoon for the room and surprise surprise the room was still vacant when we left and they didn't have a courtesy room either and we had to wash and shower in the toilet block beside the pool (a shower in both the mens and ladies) which was very clean etc but not really and ideal place !
Sunbeds were no problem the first 5 days everyone was so chilled they would go for breakfast and get the beds after that around 10am, last 2 days it changed as new arrivals would be down before breakfast staking a claim and not coming back to the beds until later on ! and getting sunbeds for all their children who never even used them and spent most of the time in the pool ! One family claimed 7
Blue Lagoon a good 20 min walk but worth it and the main beach is ok and thats where we went the last few days to escape the mayhem !
Swallows Restaurant to the left and about 5 down is probably the best food and service in Town EXCELLENT ! for a drink and entertainment the Rose Garden next to the Chinese next door was very good !
Hotel can be noisy during the night (traffic noise) as the shape and it facing the road seems to channel the noise in so its a good idea to have some ear plugs as this was probably the biggest fault.

This hotel was a lovely surprise for us. After having to move our holiday forward from September to July we were worried we would not get a good hotel. This was perfect.
Spotlessly clean. The two young ladies who clean the rooms are wonderful and work so hard to keep everything spotless.

The hotel staff so helpful and friendly. Erdi , Iron fist and Jeff the barman all work long hours with a smile on their face and do what ever they can to make your holiday special.

It was quiet, peaceful, restful. The garden area is lovely for relaxing and the chair swing (my favorite place for a cup of tea ) is soooo lovely to chill out in.

Breakfast your typical basic turkish breakfast. Again everything clean. Iron fist will make you rose and make you laugh. Erdi will be attentive and always helpful.

Close to the main strip and blue lagoon ( a must ) it is a great location.
Value for money. A really fantastic hotel.

What ever you do DO NOT book The Dalyan Departure trip with Thomas Cook. We did and it was horrenduos. We paid £92 for a trip that ruined the end of our holiday. You will be told it is a nice way to end your holiday. Not true.

It was nothing like they had described and to top it we were put in in a hotel in the middle of no where, that was not disgusting. filthy, dirty rooms, rust filth and holes in walls in the so called bathroom. No rep to take us to the airport. Flies and hair in the food (which no one touched ) dog wee on the ground, and not 5 mins from town centre as we had been told but 20 mins along unlit dirt roads. Not safe.
Hotel staff called Thomas Cook for me at my request.
Thomas Cook would not help us or acknowledge my complaints.
Non of them had ever stayed at the hotel.
All the holiday makers at the hotel and on the coach back to airport were very upset and had been sold the trip as I had been.

I am in midst of writing letter for head office and and to take the matter further.
We were dumped and left.
My son and i ate nothing from lunch time until 3.00 i n the morning.

Enjoy Belcehan Beach and ask the staff for advice on trips etc.
Do the jeep safari with 'seaside' and the sunset cruise with ' Tour Guides' With american lady called Tara selling. Fantastic.
Don't buy trips from English lady on corner 'seahorse' rip off.
Oludeniz is great, but explore. So much beauty around.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd or 3rd floor close to the bar side.

Great hotel, really clean, staff sooo friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, although pretty basic. Pool bar offers good food choice for lunch, snacks and bevvies. Also ping pong and pool tables for extra entertainment as well as the very clean swimming pool of a very good size. Good number of sun beds. Rooms very reasonable size with A/C which was very handy in the heat. Cleaning service every day.
Downside is that you cant bring food into the hotel, but it is easily smuggled in as long as you do an Mi5 mission to find a bin for it the following morning before the cleaners arrive.
Location is great, 2 min walk from main area (shops and bars) and 10 min walk to main beach.

Oludeniz is great! Definitely recommend for couples (young and old).

Overall 9/10

love O and L
