“Absolutely Perfect!”

I have just returned from my 1st ever trip to Turkey and have only excellent things to say about the whole visit. The Blue Lagoon is a lovely lovely hotel, with very friendly and extremely efficient staff. The whole premises are spotless and the food is wonderful and authentic. The Thomas Cook rep went above and beyond to ensure customer queries were dealt with every day, even taking time on her day off to address issues and concerns. She is a bright, bubbly and positive person with excellent local knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for her job and the area as a whole, a true asset to the company and to the hotel itself. I found the staff at the hotel very obliging and happy to help in any way, they always did this with a smile despite working long hours and in such heat! I will definitely be back and will be recommending this hotel to friends and family

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at this fantastic little hotel in the beautiful resort of Olu Deniz. From the very first minute the staff could not do enough for us and we found everyone to be extremely pleasant and friendly. The hotel is a little gem! Having looked around the area we are very pleased that we chose The Blue Lagoon as it had everything we wanted from our holiday. The hotel is going through phases of refurbishment in the closed seasons and we would love to return to see the finished project. Our room was one of the 'older' rooms but was more than adequate for our stay and was always spotlessly cleaned. Our balcony overlooked the pool area and the view of the mountain beyond was stunning. hotel public areas are fresh and contemoparary and again always immaculately clean. The food at breakfast was better than expected and set us up for the day. 3pm around the pool and time for ice cream, delivered on trolley by George and one of the bar staff, banana, chocolate, 'wanilla' and stawberry mmmm! Then if that's not enough the cry of 'Cake Shop Cake Shop' heralds the arrival of the trolley and a whole host of wonderful pattiseries. Thank you George from Shaun & "Jennifer" (Kim really) we returned much larger than when we arrived ha ha! The resort of Olu Deniz and the surrounding area is very beautiful and we enjoyed all 6 of our trips we booked through Guide Tours (highly recommended), thank you so much Mehmet. Turkish Bath, Olu Deniz Boat Trip, 12 Island Cruise, Sunset Cruise, Horse Riding and Dalyan Day all fantastic and extremely great value for money. We ate and drank at various outlets in the resort including Toscana, Belle & Gusto, Buzz Bar and Sultan Ahmet and all are excellent. For the men, you must visit Ufuk the Barber. He is Mehmet from Guide Tours father and his traditional Turkish shave is second to none. His mother makes hand made jewellery outside his barber shop and every evening they offered us fruit tea as we walked past on our way to dinner, so very friendly. We have so many wonderful memories of this holiday and my wife and I would love to go back in the future. For a Mediterranean package holiday for couples or families that is much better value for money than the norm' we would highly recommend Olu Deniz and The Blue Lagoon Hotel.

Just returned back from the Blue Lagoon where we had a fantastic time. First day there it rained but after that all sunny days temps up to 45C.
The hotel has many good things going for it and more than meets its 3 star rating. The pool complex is excellent and more than average size for Turkey with close proximity to bar and restaurant for drinks and snacks. There were a large amount of sunbeds placed in all points around the pool and enough tables/ sunshades for everyone which were needed at some parts in the day. As always seems to be usual now towels are on sunbeds early but we went down for breakfast at 8.30 am and always found a sunbed to put our towels on.
The food at Blue Lagoon is of a good standard. The breakfast is typically Turkish but a better selection than other hotels in Turkey i have stayed at and you could order English Breakfast for extra if you wanted to. Snacks at lunchtime were excellent especially the pizzas. Prices were a bit higher than restaurants out of hotel, but not excessively so. We only ate in the restaurant in Evening once, the restaurant is mainly buffet style but could order main courses instead of buffet selection. Ice cream and cakes were also brought round pool in the afternoon. The cakes were out of this world and we ate nothing better dessert wise in the whole holiday.
The accommodation was to the usual Turkish 3 star standard, twin beds smallish rooms. but more than adequate, very clean and maids did a great job. The balcony was excellent and the views from the balcony of the mountains, sea and para gliders will be something we will always remember. They also have deluxe rooms at this hotel which are to a very high standard but only available if you book direct i think.
The hotel is in an ideal location just around 100 yards from the main street. The standard of restaurants in Olu Deniz was very good. Some recommendations for you are:
Anfora Great Kleftiko
Daphnes Garden Very Romantic setting
Buzz Beach Bar Great for seeing sunsets, make sure you book in
advance for a good table
Sun Cafe Best all round restaurant great for lunch/dinner/drinks

All in all the hotel is very good for its 3 star rating, however there are a couple of things to be improved.

On arrival at 10.00 pm we were told not to unpack as our room wasn't ready, no explanation given. We stayed in a deluxe room for one night then moved the following morning. reception in the evening is not as good as during the day.

The hotel operate a card system to pay for all drinks meals etc. You are given a card with your room number on it when you arrive, This system does not seem to work and is open to fraud as only the room number is asked for and no verification of the card when buying drinks etc. There were a few instances of being charged for drinks/meals you had not had. My advice would be to settle your bill on a daily basis, preferably during the day, and ask for an itemised receipt.

Finally, please note, make sure you have something to eat before you get to the airport when going home. The food prices in the airport are extortionate, around £8 - £9 for a Mcdonalds meal deal.

But beyond these issues we have had a fantastic time at the Blue Lagoon and would definitely return again in the future.

Room Tip: For the best mountain & sea views the 1st & 2nd Floor rooms with a pool view and directly op...

Just got back from a week at the blye lagoon hotel, we had an older room but it was still lovely and clean and decorated all cream :-). The bar staff and reception are lovely and couldnt do more for you... But i cant understand something... Gorge??... I read b4 going that gorge was fab and such a laugh... How rong could these people be UNLESS he only speaks to certain people... My opinion is that hes a boring missrable faced man!.. He never spoke to us once and he certainly wasnt the life and soul! Lol. Food is fine, hotel pool id beaut and this hotel is priced really well. Oh one last thing dont waist your money on billys beach or sugar beach. Overall had a lovely holiday.

The room was basic but at the price me and my boyfriend paid we weren't expecting anything posh, we were in the old rooms which could do with a refurbish sooner than later but were very clean and we weren't unhappy at all! The pool area is fantastic, and theres no problem with finding sun beds like you get at other hotels! I've previously been to Oludeniz twice so I knew how great the resort was and its with in easy reach of fethiye and hisaronu which are good towns to visit when you fancy a change of scenery! The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel resteraunt area was lovely and the lunch menu was great:) also there are lots of excursions to do even though I didn't so any this year. I stayed for a week but feel that 10 days would have been better! I would definitely return to this resort and probably the same hotel. I think this hotel is great for couples of all ages and families! Overall I had a fantastic time!!

Just back from this Hotel, we arrived approx 5am My Son had rang the hotel previously asking if he could have a ground floor family room for Him his Wife and 8 year old daughter, they tried to accomodate his request but he could only have this if we all shared this one room which obviously was not ideal for the 5 of us, the staff agreed. My Husband and i were given a lovely room, but unfortunately my Son was given one of the older rooms with a very small hard bed for his 8 yr old daughter, these rooms are very dissapointing especially when he had paid almost full adult price for his daughter. We took this up with our Thomas Cook rep who we feel did not help us at all, i agree with the previous person who commented on their rep, ours was very much the same, we were part of a large group there for a wedding some had already been there a week and had warned us about the Dalyman trip with Thomas Cook and how bad that was, when i asked the rep if this was the case she did not see what the problem was other than Mon/Friday's were the busiest, we wanted to do this trip so booked it through Activities Unlimited who are situated on the main street, we had a brilliant day very well organised other than a couple of pick ups we went directly to destination it was also cheaper. Another point to note is the Talk of the Town show, once again our rep advised us this was a good family show suitable for all ages. the show is a matter of taste, but certainly not suitable for a 8 yr old.
Another dissapointment was the airport on departure, very expensive be warned! also we had gone one Kilo over our weight allowance which was charged at £8.00 per Kilo, i agree this is made clear on our tickets but i felt a bit harsh, especially when my Son's family was 4kg under allowance but they were travelling seperately to us.
Apart from the above issues the Hotel and Staff were very nice, we would go again, we enjoyed the area, used the Dolmus bus on a couple of occasions very good though sometimes crowded. certainly would recommend the Fish market in Fethiye where you purchase your fish then have it cooked at one of the restaurants situated there for a small charge.
I am rating this Hotel on our room only, this would no would not apply if i stayed in one of the older rooms.

Booked the Blue Lagoon for a quick last minute break over the August bank holiday weekend and got a pretty favourable deal. The compromise was arriving at 5am in the morning and having one of the older rooms in the hotel. We were impressed with the efficiency of the staff on arrival. At that time in the morning, you don't want to be hanging around and we were shown straight to our room which was clean, quiet and air conditioned. It did look a bit tired in places, with regard to the bedding and bathroom facilities, but was perfectly adequate for our needs. We stayed on a B&B basis and to be honest were disappointed with the quality of the breakfast which was a bit basic. The bread was fresh and there was yogurt and fruit etc but the cheese and cold meats looked really unappetising. Coffee was fine but there was no fruit juice, only water. Small things though really. I can't comment on the rest of the food on offer as we didn't have lunch or dinner there. The hotel is in a great location, near the shops and the main strip, but far enough away to be quiet after midnight. The pool was nice and there were always loungers available. The guests at the hotel were mainly over 50's, so it's not the place to stay if you're looking for a lively cocktail hour. Plenty of that going on near the seafront. I'd really recommend taking a trip out of town to a restaurant called Levissi Gardens, where we had the best meal of our trip and certainly the best authentic Turkish food and wine in a really romantic setting. It's in a town called Kayakoy or the ghost town - look it up. They will come and pick you up from your hotel and it's about a 15minute drive. I would also recommend the boat trip you can do through Focus tours - especially if you enjoy snorkelling. Great trip overall and we'll probably go back at some point!
