We arrived at the blue lagoon at about 7pm, were shown to our room by a member of staff, the room was basic but clean. slight problem with the fact that we thought we'd booked a double room instead of a twin but on checking this was our mistake not theirs we asked to be move to a double room but they were fully booked so we pushed the beds together and the cleaners made it up as a double for us the next day which was appreciated.
no charge for the air con which was nice and despite what someone else has said in their review never kept us awake at all.
I did get woken up by the morning prayer at around 5am but can hardly blame that on the hotel, sometimes the music from other hotels was very loud but again not our hotels fault.
The room was cleaned everyday for us and clean towels were left for us at least 3 times in the week. The only problem i found with our room was that we hardly ever had hot water i think i managed 3 hot showers in the whole week the rest were either luke warm or freezing which normally i don't mind cool showers on holiday but we had a few days of overcast, windy, stormy weather so not a enjoyable experience having a cold shower in that weather.
The pool was a fair size and always looked clean, there were plenty of sun loungers we never had a problem finding a good spot and the bar had something for everyone it seemed, try Sulamans cocktails they are wicked!!
Breakfast was a typical turkish breakfast - fruit, yoghurt, cereal, bread, cheese tea, coffee or juice we never went hungry and enjoyed the breakfasts there was plenty and always seemed fresh. we went b&b but did eat in the hotel twice and both was very nice there was plenty of choice. Don't miss the turkish night!! it was so much fun and the food was beautiful!!
The staff were friendly and the hotel is in a really handy place, a minute to the stretch of shops and stalls and less than 10 mins from the beach there was plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from if you are going to treat yourself to a meal then eat at captain hooks it was an amazing meal and very cheap. we also really liked the HELP bar on the sea front the staff were great not to mention the food and cocktails!!
Finally on leaving one of the staff from the hotel came and sat with us while we waited for our transfere and asked us if we'd enjoyed our stay and if we'd had any problems. All in all we really enjoyed our holiday in Olu Deniz and would most definatley stay at the blue lagoon again.

We arrived at the hotel about five in the afternoon we were the only ones staying there so there was no welcoming drink or such, we were told what we could do and what we couldnt. though.

We were shown to our room to which overlooked another hotels swimming pool but we had the view of the mountains either side, after about 1/2 an hour the loud music from the other hotels bar started up to which we complained about, they phoned the other hotel straight away and it stopped, we were shown an alternitive room but these were below groung level and looked dark and dingy

The room was very small with hardly any cupboard space, the beds were very basic and hard, as for the air conditioning you could have it on for about 10 mins or so then the noise would drive you up the wall so you would have to turn it off and sweat the night away.

The breakfast was very basic with boiled eggs, fruit and cerial, you did get a choice of an omelete once a week but beware on our last day it said you could have an english breakfast if ordered to which we did as were leaving that morning for the airport, when we checked out and got on our bus it left the hotel to pick up some other passengers, our bus then returned to our hotel to which the waiter came running out with a book in his hand, I thought we had left our passports behind and was going to thank him and give him a big tip, it turns out that our english breakfast was not incuded within our price and wanted 24 YTL for it !

The good thing was the staff there were all friendly and helpful and have worked there for many years, lots of people have returned to this hotel for many years and I must say the atmosphere was very good, as for a starring I thought this was a 2 star at best but then again the price we paid reflected that

Stayed for a week at the Blue Lagoon Hotel - having booked it after reading the great reviews on this site but unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Room was basic but clean upon arrival but no cleaning during our stay and the reception lady, Esra was very rude. Breakfast was a dissapointment too. Reasonable location though. The general caretaker, Ibrahim was great. Wouldn't stay there again.

Just returned from two weeks at the blue lagoon. The hotel is basic but clean and extremely friendly. The staff work very hard to ensure that you have a great stay especially George and Solomon. Don't miss the turkish night the 'Blue lagoon boys are ace!! The resturant offers a wide variety of dishes which we could not fault. we also met some really great people hello the two Dot's!!

Just back from a weeks stay at the Blue Lagoon hotel. Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some good and some not so good reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are fairly basic with two single beds, limited amount of storage but adequate for a weeks stay, small balcony (and I do mean small) and a bathroom with shower (lovely hot water in the evening but cold in the morning as water is solar powered). I read in one review you had to pay for air conditioning but we didn't and you do need air conditioning.
My daughter loved lounging round the pool which is fairly small but this hotel only has 48 rooms so the pool is big enough. Cakes and ice cream milkshakes are bought around in the afternoon and charged at 2 lira (about 80p). Blow up air beds are provided in the pool or buy your own from the 'high street' for £2. There was one couple who 'reserved' their pool loungers when they went down for breakfast and topless sunbathing every day so if you are a bit of a prude, don't go here.
Breakfast was the same each day but plenty of variety for everyone (cereal, dried and fresh fruit, cheese, meats, bread/toast, olives, tea and coffe) but if you want a cooked breakfast, just ask and one will be cooked (12 lira). I had one cooked breakfast and it was huge (2 eggs, 3 bacon, 2 sausages, mushrooms, tomato and 'orange' bread (wasn't sure whether this was fried bread or toast).
Noise levels were fine, its the hotel next door (The Dorian) that makes all the noise. Thursday night is Turkish night where the music does go on until past midnight but this is only one night a week. The hotel on the other side has speakers which broadcast the 'call to prayer' at 4.45am and woke us up once. After that we put the air con on at night and didn't hear it again.
The staff were all nice and polite and i couldn't fault any of them.
One down point is the laundry service. It is advertised as being offered but it isn't. They give the washing to one of the maids who washes and irons it and then lets you know how much it is going to cost. Instead I took mine down the high street where you can get a 4kg bag washed and ironed for £10. Sure beats coming home to a lot of washing.
Another bit of advice - if you go out to eat and are not wearing a wedding ring be prepared to be 'hit on' fairly quickly. We went to the big Chinese restaurant and within 10 minutes one of the waiters had told us he was single and looking for a wife so he could come and live in England (but that he would bring all his carpets and white goods for the kitchen). After that we just said my daughters boyfriend was at the hotel otherwise you wouldn't get a quiet meal. The Buzz Beach Bar and Toscana were the only two restaurants that didn't have people outside trying to get you to come in. We ate at both and they were fantastic and come recommended.
And before you go have a look at an episode of Only Fools And Horses and you'll see what the shop keepers etc have been watching to get their 'over the top' cockney accents. I come from London and I have never said 'excuse moi' the way they do.

My wife and I spend 10 days at the Blue Lagoon Hotel from the 20th of june 2008. After reading all sorts of reviews, some positive some not, we kept an open mind on what to expect. Boy oh boy what a fantastic place to stay. Every thing was completely spotless, the room, the toilets, the swimming pool area, the restaurant, everything. The rooms are basic but of a good size and they have airconditioning. The staff made us feel at home from day 1. We have never met such a bunch of nice people who had only 1 thing in mind, to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, and they did. Sulaman, George, Bulent, Igbor etc. The Hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. We booked B&B but ended up having half of our evening meals in the restaurant, food and choice of it was brilliant, and the other half in the resort. We met a great variety of people in the Hotel. There were young couples in their early twenties, Mums with Daughters, families with young children, middle aged couples etc. We, 34 and 39 mixed Irish/Dutch couple, spoke to everybody and the general concensus was; what a nice place. We met people from England, Wales, Scotland, Holland, Germany, Russia and even many Turks who stayed there.
The resort it self was very nice. Tradesmen were pushing their business but within limits, no hassle at all. Bars that are to loud at night, or tradesmen that are to pushy, get fined. During our stay 3 premises were forced to close for 3 days for the above reasons. We enjoyed the late opening hours of shops, restaurants, bazaar etc. Coming back to the Hotel was always nice and we would sit down till late to enjoy a beer or cocktail at the pool bar and enjoy the crack with the other guests.
Next years holiday will be in the Blue Lagoon Hotel in Oludeniz!!!!
