just returned from 2 weeks at the Pink palace and overall had a relaxing time but having stayed at many 3* hotels in Turkey this was the worse.
firstly the Hotel is in an amazing setting with breathtaking views of mountains spoilt by the noise of the main road when laying around pool.sunbeds were easy to get befor 9am but were tatty and having no matresses made for an uncomfortable experience! bought a cheap lilo to cure this but a pain to keep lugging it up and down 4 flights of stairs and begining and end of day.
first room ok with torn bedspread and 2 single sheets covering bed.we Had to move due to neighbours rowing and swearing at full scream for two nights running! asked to move and manager offered us a suite which was really nice .Take ear plugs as the walls are paper thin and all doors have to be slammed to shut and this noise goes on all night.
maid service is terrible, have never stayed in Turkey and just had sheets and towels dumped on bed every 3 days! last thing i want is to be making up a bed after a late night, also the maids for some reason were doing the rooms in our block at 4-6pm are very loud and shouty and forget having a siesta or getting ready for evening without doing so around maid service!
no toilets in complex have doors that lock!
Food was poor overall and we are not fussy eaters but chicken situation is rediculous! no fish offered entire 2 weeks and you have to eat as soon as restarant opens or everything runs out.spent alot on eating out.
If you take the free bus to St.nickolas bay makes for a super relaxing day but take cash for sunbed hire and beach bar which is expensive.but a beautiful place.
people say you get what you pay for, well ive payed less and got alot more! at lots of 3*hotels in Turkey.
This hotel does make a fairly good base for exploring the area but wouldnt return!

I just got back from the pink palace yesterday and thought I'd share my experience. I checked on trip advisor before booking the hotel and none of the negative comments put me off - To be honest nothing was going to as we got such a good deal. Yes there is chicken every night but this is probably to cater to the fussier eaters as I'm sure if it was all local food people would still complain.

Hotel - The hotel accomodation was split into 3 blocks joined by steps - There was a lot of older people here which I thought this would be a problem for but obviously not. The pool area has got anti-slip running around it, older posts have commented on how slippery it was. Staff were always working away, it seemed like the same staff were there 24/7, the service was very good.

Room - We were given a room overlooking the pool and restaurant, It was ok sized with a double and two singles. We used the single beds to put our stuff on as round the double was tight. There was a fridge, tv, air con, hairdryer, cupboards, two small verandas with chairs. There was extra blankets provided which we used but it wasnt cold. Our only issue was on the nights we went to bed early to get up early for trips we had to wait for everyone for the bar/restaurant to go to bed as it was loud. Towels were changed every 3 days or when we left them on the floor. Bathroom was small but still usable, shower head would not stay up as the attachment was broken but we found a way to keep it up.

Food - Breakfast was served 7-10am, late breakfast til 11am, lunch 12.30-2pm, snacks 2-4pm, cake hour 5-6pm then dinner 7-9/10pm. There was always something to eat and as other posters have said it was fairly repetative. This did not bother us as we always food something to our liking. Breakfast was boiled, scrambled or made into fresh omelettes however you liked, sauages, hot bread roll things with meat in them, cereals, preserves, meat, cheeses, toast, tea etc. Lunch and dinner were pretty similar - Chicken and another main option, rice, chips, veg, a big salad bar selection, bread and cakes for dessert. Other posters have complained about the birds at the bread - The restaurant area was open and this was not a problem unless people didn't cover the bread back up and the birds could get to it.

Location - When we arrived we were taken along the back streets, maybe to show us the state of the road, who knows. We thought we were in the middle of know where but discovered we were only a short walk into the main town which was full of shops, bars, restaurants and things to do. We were on the top of the hill which was about a 15 min walk down, probably a 10hr walk back up as it was so steep but we always took the dolomus which was 2.75TL each. This takes you down to the beach in Olu Deniz which has more shops, bars etc. The beach was stretch along the whole bay and they charge you to use the sun loungers here, but it is nice sitting watching all the paragliders.

All in all we had a great time - We are not bothered by having chicken everynight or AI ending at 11, we had stuff to do most days so were off to bed regardless. It is a 3 star hotel in another country so don't have too high expectations and you'll love it. We got a fantastic deal so it would have taken a lot to give us something to moan about.

Lets start with the staff were lovely and the guests were very friendly which helped to make the hol.. The food was very fresh soup was very good. but if like they say like chicken you will like it it was all versions of chicken also rice every night (which I dont like) occ beef stew. the AI drinks were Raki, Vodka. Gin, Wine and Beer it stoped dead on eleven then it was 6lr for any drink after that which was cheeper than the bars in town.
The room due to the hotel just opening we were first in the room, it was damp the beds were damp, the heating did not work on the air con (we got told we were not working it propely) the shower was very warm but did not stay on the hook (it was the only way we could get warm) the hair dryer only worked for a min at a time then switched off so we had to do our hair for that time then come back 2 min later to do more. What did not help was the sun did not hit the room the weather was not good for 3 days. we were cold all the time 3 blankets on the bed.. a lot of the rooms had heat in theres we were just unlucky. Alao the cleaner just chucked ur bed together out of all the hols we have had we are always impressed by the cleaning but not this time she would def be the worsed we have had..
We feel if the weather was not so bad we would of enjoyed it more the staff did make the place mainly Guss and Butch

Hi all,
Just got back from a brilliant week with friends that have never been. Met some fantastic people, you know who you are!! Apologies for blaming you for wall banging!!!!! A couple of tosser's but you cant have everything.
Once again, food great, hotel staff all mad but wonderful. Nice and clean, fresh food great staff and lots of fun. Our friends want to go back soon. So, if you want 5* dont go, however, if you want a cheap, friendly week away, go to the Pink Palace. Maybe a reunion next year with all the crazy people we met would be good!!!!!

Went here for our Spring Break. Rooms were basic, but clean. The pool area was nice. Some people complained about the chickens in the field next door, but they were really entertaining. Hotel is in a great location and it's easy to get around using the dolmus. Not much choice of food in the all inclusive restaurant. Sometimes really good and sometimes bad but always a nice salad selection. Have a turkish bath they are excellent. Our rep Yelcin( Boris) teased everybody - Hi to Uncle Albert and friends

Tips:
Up to the end of May always take something warm to wear in the evening as it gets cold and not just chilly.
Because you are getting a cheap deal try the local restaurants Cinbal in Kaya was excellent, serving traditional turkish food.
Shop around for your trips, we saved loads doing this and got a day to Dalyan (roman mud baths) for £16 inc lunch.( make sure Atilla is your guide - well funny)
Visit Fethiye on the dolmus (bus) and visit the roman amphitheatre, you can walk all over it and one of the local history buffs gives you a guided tour for a tip.
Use air con to keep warm.
Gripes:
Manager refused to light the fire in the outdoor restaurant, even though we were all freezing and it was raining, he was watching tv in the warm drinking coffee, and said you get what you pay for! it was so bad we had to find somewhere else to go and eat.
The advertised sauna was being demolished. and the fitness centre is dirty and dangerous.
BBQ isn't held twice a week as advertised, but it was nice when it was put on.
Had to pay £10 for a safety deposit box, this is a rip off and should be included.
Corridors were dark with cots and mattresses left on the landings.

First time visiting turkey, and have loved it!! Pink palace is a must!!! It's a small locally run hotel. I'll agree the hotel rooms are small, but after all u only sleep in them and get ready in them. The location is perfect. 5 min walk into the town of hissaronu, and 5 min bus ride (2.75 lira) to the beach. Already looking at heading back in sept, and only came back last night!!! Pink palace is a must!!!!

Hi,
Just thought we could add our thoughts to the recent reviews.

As others have said the initial impressions are not the greatest, but this stay in August 2010 turned out to be a great holiday!

Turned up at about 6.00 am, room small, but by all accounts they are variable, so you take your chances. Some duffer on the transfer bus was telling his wife, (when they were dropped off in the middle of no where), that he would collect the luggage and she should book in. So, we did this when getting to the Pink Palace. I filled in the form double quick, smiled sweetly and asked for a pool view, which we got from the side of first building.

However, once you are in there and getting chilled, it will not matter. As for the food we loved it. It is true that you can eat chicken every evening. However there are always other alternatives and the vegetables and the salads are so fresh. The barbeque fish is fab.As in other reviews there are fresh eggs each morning and there is plenty to eat all day if you want. Small water bottles (half litre) you can fill up at will even when you are going out, we saved ours to take out ( that sounds mean but believe me in the peak season everything goes UP !)If you are a fussy eater, and by that I mean you really like McDonalds and pizzas, and chips and stuff then don't bother. If, however you like freshly cooked food, which yes involves chicken, then you will love it.

As for the wasp comments if you ask the waitresses they will bring out a repellent coil that burns like a joss stick, I took a load with me only because I always pack them, they are always available in Boots and cost about a fiver. They are designed for mosquitos but repell anything. Ask for mosquito coils at Boots and you will get the gist.

Pool area is great, we didn't have too much trouble with sun beds , even in August. That said, we were so chilled and relaxed, that we would find one of us would be up for coffee early and put the towels out. However, this is such a small hotel that if you could see that beds were not being used we always asked, or one was offered and that would be fine.

As for the entertainment, then all I can say is that we had some fun evenings and if that didn't suit then we went back to our room and had a drink on our balcony. Turkey is not part of the EU so buy your favourite tipple at the airport.

Do not accept the trip from the hotel for the Blue Lagoon. Cross the road , to the other sideof the road, yes the big road, and when then bus stops, which it will ask for the Blue Lagoon Marine Park. It will drop you off by the turnstiles for the beach, ( Can't remember the entry fee but i was about two pounds each?) If you get the complimetary bus from the hotel the you will end up in Billys Bar.This is the other side of the famous lagoon and comes with its own 'beach and bar'. You are captive for the day. You have been warned ! Look at the maps on Google Earth. We went there for the day and it was not pleasant. Very cramped, you will pay for sunbeds either side, however the water is rubbish, cloudy and ........

Many reveiws have talked about the 'floaters'. Enough said. They are not poo they are lumps of algae in the Billys Bar side because there is no tide. The water is stagnant. The Marine side is as you see on the photos, lovely clear water ,a nice bit of snorknelling. beds are are the same price. Don't know what they will charge this year 2011? From memory I think it was 18 Lira for two and a parasol for the day.

Hiranosou is a very short walk away and like another world. It looks mad and bad and if you like to nightclub then this might be your thing. It has a real family atmosphere until about twelve, and the I guess it gets going after then. . Oh yeah and the market is on Monday morning, and I bought loads and I hate haggling. ! Fab towels .

We had a lot of fun at this lovely hotel. Take it as it is. We are going back. Be nice or leave. That should be their mantra. The staff are great , be friendly and you will have a lovely time with your fellow travellers, warm weather, lovely food .........oh how we wish we were there now..,.....
