“Good value for money”
Reviewed 14 July 2011

Staff very attentive. Everywhere clean. Rooms small but again clean. Pool good size . Food was adequate if you like chicken as it was served everyday but always in a different way. Only grumble was there is not enough sunbeds. People got up early to put their towels on. Location is excellent as there is so much to do in the area. Free Mini bus takes you to St Nicholas Bay where you can get a sunbed and some Lunch. As i said before excellent value for money. We would go again

Pink Palace,
worst hotel we have ever stayed at.....

We generally believe that a during a holiday, a hotel is somewhere to sleep at night, so we have never worried about the odd little problem, but.....

Reception - our room was on the same floor as the reception, which meant you didn't sleep till everyone else went to bed, any noise, including the telephone warble, reverberated around and was amplified by the tile covered reception and corridors. The receptionist and the entertainment girl had to be asked to keep the noise and laughter down at 1:10am on our 3rd night, they blamed the other guests. Got to sleep about 2 that morning. We could have asked to move but the Hotel was apparently full.

Rooms - the one we had, had somewhere to hang our clothes and a couple of shelves, we ended up living out of our cases. We switched bulbs around so we could see what we were doing. Windows do not lock. By the way, you can hear everything said and everything moved in the next room. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. You have to hang towels over the windows as the curtains don't cover them and it is very bright in the morning. Avoid room 215 at all costs.

Security - the hotel strongly recommends spending £20 for 2 weeks for security boxes. Could be because the room windows do not lock.

Beds - one pillow and one cover that covers your feet or your shoulders, not both and woe betide guests that get any sort of sunscreen or tattoo in on bedding as charges will follow.

Towels - on the first day we were supplied with 2 large and 2 small. Had to ask on 4 days out of the first 5, for the same amount as each day only 3 towels were left by housekeeping. On the other day my wife was unwell so we didn't let housekeeping in.
Don't expect the reception to help, I was told they had run out of towels. Incidentally, guests are expected to use the towels for three days before they are changed.

Toilet - we are slim people, this is fortunate because the shower cubicle is so small, you can barely move and no luck if someone turns on a cold tap in some other room, you will get scalded if you're not fast enough getting out.
Taps drip constantly unless you use Herculean strength to turn them off and when the taps are turned on, they spray over the top of the sink. I reported this and leaking toilet pipes to reception, there were no repairs carried out during our stay, so the fourth towel, when we got it was used to mop up the floor.

Television - approx 12" screen, with 2 English speaking news channels, the rest in Turkish. Better than nothing when you are kept awake with leaky taps and a noisy reception after midnight.

Restaurant - great if you want eggs every morning for breakfast and chicken for every other meal, variety included, chicken or chicken with some fly covered vegetables.
A guest suggested the restaurant serve baked beans, the hotel manager told them, that with the money that the tour operators pay him he can't afford anything new. The guest also said that they used to serve pizza but the oven was broken, it now sits against the hotel wall unused.
Breakfast at 7 till 10 and late breakfast 10 till 10:30. The restaurant always stopped serving at 10 and not 1 minute later. No omelettes are made until 8:30 and then the queue is huge.
Evening meal from 7 till 9. Each day this seemed to stretch to a later start time. The worst was 7:20, touch luck if you arrange to go somewhere, means you have to go hungry or go late.

Flies - I've never seen so many flies, the hotel has a fly zapping thing in the restaurant but I only ever saw it switched on once at 10:30 pm. The flies crawl all over the displayed food, the food you are eating, the drinks glasses and you.
Birds - fly around and help themselves to the uncut bread and the food you are eating sometimes.

Bar - bar staff get into trouble if they serve drinks to all inclusive guests after 11pm. The management watch out for this on video cameras at the bar and around the hotel.

Pool - looks very nice, took days to get near it, you have to reserve a lounger with towels, your own obviously. We were told that any towels on loungers before 7am would be removed, that never happened. I tried a couple of times but every lounger was taken, even as early as 6:30am.

Staff - always very friendly, even under their difficult circumstances, it seems they have an area under the pool with no windows, to sleep at night.

Manager - This hotel makes all-inclusive guests wear wrist bands, when a band catches on something and breaks, it should be replaced immediately. This is acceptable, but the Manager told my wife, very rudely, to go and get a new band, NOW, please. This was after he argued with another guest and grabbed the wrist of yet another woman for the same reason.

We met many terrific people who kept coming back to Hisaronu and these people often meet with friends from previous holidays. I was told by one of these people, that this and the resort are the only reasons they return, it is certainly not the hotel. They all say the same thing, this Hotel's standards have gone down.

If you want to go here, then you've been warned, you will get better hotels and holidays for the same price, I recommend looking around.
People don't always moan for no reason, sometimes it's because theydidn't get what they thought they had paid for.

After 10+ years of Greece and Cyprus I booked the Pink Palace on a whim one morning....And I am definitely glad I did.

We were fortunate in getting a day flight with Pegasus; comfy enough, but the in flight prices were astronomical - £3.10 for a can of pop, £6.50 for a double spirit! Oh, and if you like a particular drink then it's certainly a good idea to buy at the airport (even if you're AI, more of which later!) as Birmingham were doing two litres of selected spirits for £18.

We were greeted at Dalaman airport by the lovely Birgin who gave us a very entertaining introduction to the area! Although he wasn't our official rep (Lynne was great, though!) we saw him several times and he always had a kind word to say.

As others have mentioned, this is a 3 star hotel and you 'get what you pay for'. However, we felt the standard of service was definitely more than the rating, and the staff worked really hard to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Bircin and Bahar were especially sweet!

Yes, there was chicken virtually every night, but it was always prepared in different ways and there was always another meat dish as well if you didn't want chicken. With the exception of the birds constantly after the bread, the restaurant was well maintained and always clean. The only little gripe was that the tablecloths were not changed in days! My OH and I sat at the same table most nights (we're not sad, honest - it just had a nice feel to it) and we managed to have a good laugh at the ever-setting tomato stain I had accidentally spilt around day two! However, the food was generally very good and we certainly found something to enjoy everyday.

The AI bar was on from 10.00 - 23.00. The beer was certainly drinkable, as were the soft drinks. However, the wine was a little on the 'piquant'!!! side (it actually gave us both upset tummies) and the spirits were watered down with ice and mixer to within an inch of their lives!!! Nevertheless, the bar service was always friendly and very fast. As previously mentioned, if you like a drink in your room (you could not take drinks up from the bar) then buy it from Duty Free at home as it is expensive in resort. A bottle of good branded vodka was around 60TL (@£25).

Our room was a nice size with a double bed and massive balcony. Yes, the bathroom was 'compact', but no more so than any other 3 star hotels/self catering. I must say the room was spotlessly clean and was kept that way by a very efficient team of housekeeping staff. The TV had a couple of news channels, along with Turkish channels which showed (mostly American) programmes in English. Very efficient air conditioning. The walls are somewhat thin and there is some noise; we did take earplugs but never once needed them.

Olympic offer a lot of excursions, but we chose to explore the area and make the most of the cheap dolmus buses. An hour in a pedalo at the lagoon in Olu Deniz was worth it (as we got to see a massive turtle right in front of us), as was a trip to Fethiye to walk around the massive harbour and shops.

We had a really good time overall, and if you are realistic about what you are getting for your money, the Pink Palace is an ideal choice.

Oh, and one other thing; the breakfast tea in the restaurant was probably the best I have ever had abroad! Missing the place already....!

Just back from 2 wks at this hotel and certainly wont go back. Having to get up at 6 oclock in the morn to ensure you get a (broken) sunbed is a bit much on holiday, so much for management rules. Staff are friendly to who they decide are worthy of their time and energy, ie ( the regular usual suspects) Food was very poor and repetative even if you do like chicken n pasta, no thought is taken for any kind of kids menu apart from snack at 4 oclock which consists of hamburger n chips. As for the food and bar manager, where do i start....very rude, never smiles, not friendly at all and picks on woman...my wifes wristband burst so she put it on her swimsuit strap when at lunch, the so called manager grabbed her plate of warmish food and continued to pull at it until he bravely and very manly managed to prize it from her hand whilst ordering her to get another band on her her wrist immediately, leaving her very embarrassed and upset over a very trivial incident to which no apology was given. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!!!

We spent 10 days at the Pink Palace, all i can say is you get what you pay for, its clean and the staff are friendly. It amazed me how many people had been year upon year and they were the one's that put me off it. The sunbeds are uncomfortable and that's if you get one.....get up before 5 am and you should...madness! It is situated next to the main road which can get annoying with the traffic noise and on one side of the hotel they keep the chickens and goats. The walls are paper thin so you here everyone getting up, going to bed, opening and closing doors etc......!!! The food is ok you can make a meal as long as you like chicken....someone needs to buy the omelet man another frying pan....if you've been you know what i mean!!
Entertainment is very hit and miss mini disco from 09:00 to 09:15...sure is mini....darts every day! There is a free bus to the beach which was worth a visit. Meals out were cheap and good value for money. Boat trips are a must, we didn't do the £5 trip, as there were too many people on the boat, we opted to pay a bit more for a smaller boat and it was worth it.

Read some of the reviews about the Pink Palace before leaving for holidays and wished I hadn't,,, people were complaining about anything and everything,,,, Well what a lovely suprise we had when we arrived,,, we got there in the middle of the night to be greeted by a very nice man who immediately made us feel welcome,,, after a short sleep, in what I must say was a very small, but clean and comfortable room, we went down for breakfast,, coffee, fab hot and creamy, I don't drink a lot of coffee, but drank loads on this holiday,, there was a chef cooking eggs in any way you wanted, there was also scrambled or boiled,, lots of other choices including the normal hams and cheeses,,,, the bread was always fresh, and there was a toaster there too,, but there was an issue with the bread,,, the birds, they don't stop so please make sure you cover the bread up with the cloth as they are on the bread all the time..
The pool area was always kept clean, but beware, very slippery when wet, although there is some astroturf around the edges which makes it a lot safer, of course there is the usual, sunbeds taken very early in the morning, but plenty of chairs around the bar area, no pads on the sunbeds, so quite uncomfortable to stay on all day, but there you go who stays on a sunbed all day !!!!! the pool was clean, and quite cool, I saw the water being tested while I was there, so that was good,,, There are lovely gardens, if you want to get away from the crowds for a few hours there is one garden at the top, just opposite the reception where there are some pads that you can put down on the grass under the tree and just drift off to sleep,,, lovely....... Back to the room at around 6 o clock for a shower, always loads of hot water, and there was a proper shower cubicle,,, wow, something I've never seen in Turkey all the years I've been going there,,,, towels and sheets changed every other day so excellent... Down for dinner,, now I was worried as everyone was complaining about the food,,,,, So wrong,,,,, Yes it was chicken but I've never known so many different ways of cooking it,,, delicious,, there was always pasta or rice, chips, potatoes, mixed veg,, we had moussaka one night, bolognese another, kebabs, even had doner kebab one night !!!!!! Of course there is all the mixed salads coleslaw, anything and everything,,, you will not go hungry,,, but if you are a fussy eater or if you fancy a chinese or indian, you are about a 10 minute leasurely walk into the main area of Hisaronu,, where you will find all sorts of restaraunts, many shops, even an AZDA,,, if you want to buy anything, go there first, much cheaper,,,,, Another tip for you, which we didn't know,,, if you have a red band your all inclusive finishes at 12 noon, but the pale ones go on until you leave, but that is only your food and drink,, to keep a room on is 15 pounds, but this is only until 5 pm,,,, Drinks around the bar are very good, you have to pay for imported spirits, but found nothing wrong with the local ones,,, take a pack of cards with you, and you will soon make friends, we had some brilliant nights playing card games, I think at on stage there were a dozen of us, all having a good laugh, and getting really tiddly on the local drink,,,!!!!! If you fancy a long walk, just turn left a the entrance to the hotel, this road will take you down to the beach of Olu Deniz, stunning, you must go down there, you can go on boat trips from there or just swim in the lovely sea, also many shops and bars down there,,, you can also just chill on the beach and watch the many paragliders landing, don't forget your camera...!!! you can get a dolmus back they are all parked on the front, The hotel also has a free shuttle down there every morning first goes just after 10, and another just after 11, they take you to St Nicholas beach lovely,, All in all,,, this holiday was fantastic, if you're on a budget you really can't go wrong, if you want 5* then you have to pay 5* price, but I would definately say this hotel is a good 3*,, so go and enjoy,,,, 'HAPPY HOLIDAYS" See you there next time,, many people there were on their 6th 7th even 9th visit,,, now does that tell you something or what...!!!!!!!!!!!

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday here. There was us and my daughter and son in law. When we first arrived we were met by smiling staff who were very helpful. They took us to our rooms and we were very pleased with these. We were in 325 and my daughter only next door. The room was good in size an very clean,as was the bathroom. We then made our way down for our evening meal and were happy with this too. The staff, very friendly....... food, repetitive........the pool, clean..... and overall 2 weeks holiday we enjoyed alot.
If you really wanted to moan about this hotel then you could find things to moan about but we are not the whinging type..
The menu was mostly chicken but very tasty. Not one of us were ill so that has to say something!!! And the chickens outside in the grounds were not for food they are pets!!!!!!!
Flies were an issue but thats not the hotels fault.
Noise was our biggest gripe. Slamming doors and people being very load at all times of the night.
Yes i agree the beds were uncomfortable, time for new mattresses i think.
We made some great friends while we were there and laughed at the little issues together as none of them were enough to spoil our holiday.
Would i go back to this hotel???????????? YES!!!!!!!!
The steps were an issue but it does say in the hotel brief that there are lots of steps so read your hotel discription before you book.
