We sayed here for two weeks at the begining of October. The room was very clean and kept spotless for the whole two weeks. We had a double room and although it had plenty of storage it was very small and the balcony was tiny, room for two plastic chairs and with that you were cosily knee to knee. We were in block 3 on the 3rd floor which was possibly the quietest of the blocks because it was away from the main 'strip' and the road that ran along the back, but our view was of the opposite block and a small sqaure of sky.
We were bed and breakfast and the only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast. I have travelled a fair bit and usually always find something for a decent breakfast, but I struggled here. We had early breakfasts most mornings and the only hot option was a hard boiled egg, the juice was very watery and the bread wasn't the softest. On the days we had a later breakfast there was a second hot option sometimes scrambled eggs and small bread rolls which were very nice. The rest of the buffet was cold meat, cheese, olives etc They would make you anything else you liked at an extra cost, if you went out of the hotel you could get the same breakfast items for a fraction of the cost. All said and done we didn't pay a fortune for our stay and if you are looking for a base somewhere to sleep and leave your clothes then you could do worse,

The Karbel Hotel In Olu Deniz, it located in the best location to the main strip in Olu deniz you come out of Hotel turn right a few steps your on the Main Strip, It caters for families at a small level there's not much for children only the pool tables and the pool, it okay for friends if your sharing single beds, they do have double but you have to pay a further £10 per night for a double bed, the rooms are so basic with shower and loo, a couple of draws a small TV only basic channel BBC News nothing to shout about, For breakfast you get Boiled Eggs and Salad mostly you will get on various days a scrabbled eggs with salad, if you want a proper breakfast with bacon and beans you will have to pay around 8 lira, the Super time there are different meal, but you get a soup of the day a basic main course and a pudding but you can have salad as well.

The sun loungers are dirty and need a clean a material which should be white all over but its very dirty with 1000s of marks on the material, we spent a couple of hour using our own towels to cover the sun loungers you don't know how these dirty marks are on the beds, it's not that good to lounge around to long because how dirty they're.

We will never go back there again it the worst experience we have ever had in the hotel, I do say the staff are very friendly and helpful we really like the restaurant manager Ramazan who was so helpful a brilliant and all his staff, The porters are very helpful Like Sami there a male who works in the Reception a young man who wear glasses he is a waste of time so unhelpful there's a manager who works along side the reception staff he okay. Main point of view reception and restaurants area are very clean.

Our first day arrival we was dropped off at reception the man who wear glass and look young and smokes out side the hotel by the steps well he is hopeless and and doesn't care what you ask him, anyway the porters took us to our room on first inspection gave us a shock it was in the basement a door leading to some kind of grass a little garden and a brick wall well that leads to the road along side this is Block 9 the rooms where so dirty the shower had mould in the corners the flooring was cracked the curtains which should be white were grey in colour and brown marks on the walls and curtain, as soon as we saw this we went back to reception asking to be moved the hopeless and unhelpful man in reception said "there's nothing he could do" i asked him this isn't what we paid for we showed him what we wanted he word were" well this is what you have paid for and this is what your going to have there nothing else so these's are your rooms i said to him there no way i can sleep in this room it dirty, and he said what can i do about it, he quoted i am not the cleaner the cleaners clean these rooms, you have no choice there nothing else, he replied in next sentence i may be able to move you on monday, i said i do not want this room it dirty. He said come back monday this was saturday. so we saw our Thomson rep in morning she did manage to move us but all she was interested in and explaining was there a notice board near the reception your flights home are located here, check when you leave the time and flight times of pick up, she went on about this for 15mins then she went on about the strip for 2 mins and her trips she had to offer, and how cheap they were which is not the case.

After going a few yards down the strip we found a brilliant i mean brilliant Trip advisor this is called seaside Travel the young man who worked in this shop speak great english so helpful all our small trips were booked through him his Name His Cash a body builder he gave me extras without extra costs to me and the family, for £5.00 Picked up out side the Hotel taken to fethyie market and then taken to the Ghost town and taken back to the hotel best ever service ever, if you are thinking about going to olu deniz and want a cheap and great service door to door the Book through SeaSide Travel.

Just arrived back this morning after 2 weeks at the Karbel. We stayed there last year but was a little disappointed this year. No fresh orange juice at breakfast, no lunch time special BBQs, no jokes at the pool announcing happy hour or special cocktails - the restaurant servicing staff seemed very tired, deflated and a little uninterested.

Rooms were very clean, with new linen & towels every other day, couldn't fault this element.

Karbel cafe also down hill from last year. Food wasn't great and staff laughing about us behind our backs and calling us names, but were shocked when husband answered them back in Turkish!

Lots of sun beds by the pool but they were filthy dirty and need a damn good clean. You really don't want to sit on them.

Good hotel but 2 star at the most.

A three star hotel, trying very hard to be a four star. Took the advice of fellow trip advisors, and opted for an upper floor room. On arrival, a nice welcome, and the porter took our cases to the room. Very grateful for that as it was a bit of a walk, and include a steep slope. The room was well appointed, standard bathroom, and very clean. Small balcony, but very pretty. We were in block 9, and it overlooked a garden area, and a view of the mountains. Can't comment on the evening meals as were on a B&B basis. The breakfasts were typical Turkish, ham, cheese, o;ives, etc, but there were always fresh bread and a couple of toasters, and eggs. Boiled eggs almost every day, and once a week scrambled, and weekly freshly made omellettes. The coffee cups were tiny, and most people bought mugs from the trader down the road. The coffee was strong, just as I like it, but It was a good move to use a mug, get one coffee, and top up with hot water. The juices at breakfast were mostly pomegranate and cranberry, orange on only two occassions. OK' but most days quite watery. The dining room staff, like all staff, were great. Loved to use their English. The pool and area were very good, well maintained, plenty of sun beds and parasols, with a good pool bar. The reception area was very nicely decorated, and there is a small lobby bar. Access is easy, only three steps, and two ramps. Saw two people using mobility scooters quite easily. Ther is a no cash policy, on arrival you are given a swipe card, and you present it for any services. Settle up as you go ,or wait until the end of your stay. Receipts are issued every time. I f you want an English style breakfast, one of the dining room staff will take your order and bring it to your table. Quite extensive variety. By the way, if you like yoghurt, try it, especially with honey. Happy hoour was 6-7 pm every day, and the prices beat the bars! The rooms were kept lovely and clean, with regular linen and towel changes. Best location in the resort, and not far to the beach. Recommended. A big thanks to all the staff for a lovely holiday.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better, as some of the ground floor ones mean you have people walking past quite c...
