Despite the above statement we had a really good holiday but there are problems with the hotel in my opinion.
We were given ground floor rooms by the restaurant which were very dark (nicknamed our 'cave' for the week). Because they were overlooked by the diners the blinds were kept closed permanently. We had problems with ants in the sink, cockroaches and bugs of some sort that came out every night from round the toilet. The maids did a good job cleaning the rooms but we were in the old part of the hotel and I think most of the problems are due to this. We were woken at 5am by the mosque!!! every morning but soon fell back to sleep once the cockerel had finished his rendition. We were not impressed with the food. It seemed that whatever was left over from one meal was dished up again at the next........bolognese for breakfast??? We all had stomach upsets, not sure if that was due to heat or food but talking to a few other guests they also had problems.
On the positive, the staff mostly were excellent. Particularly the bar staff who made the holiday for us. They were fantastic, always smiling and dancing despite working from 6am till 12.30am! We didn't have a problem with being served more than one drink at a time. If you do want to tip them then you should be aware that the tip box on the bar is emptied by the bar manager who keeps the money for himself. There are ways around this ;)
Be very careful round the pool especially first thing as they wash it down and leave the tiles very very slippy for an hour or so.
Summing up......lovely people, Olu Deniz fantastic but we chose the wrong hotel.

I stayed at the Dorian Hotel end of may beginning june with my partner and we had a really good time! After reading some of the reviews i was a little worried but when we got there they quickly disappeared. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool/restaurant area which was cleaned with fresh towels everyday and the maid did her best to make it look nice for us with her artistic designs with the towels and flowers, bless.
Food was fine and plenty we never went hungry, not top notch but very edible obviously if you go up to eat nearer the end of the evening then not so much choice!
There was entertainment in an evening which was ample especially if you didn't feel like taking a walk out into the town your usual karaoke, turkish night etc, just be aware that between 10pm - 11pm they will only serve 1 person with 1 drink and then after 11pm the drinks can be quite expensive dearer than downtown. But its definately worth staying around for because the entertainment lads Sonic and John are funny!
There are 2 pool areas with sunloungers generally enough although i wouldn't leave it too late for grabbing them else you could be disappointed, it was spring bank holiday while we were there and we had to get up extra early to make sure we got some but then having said that there were a few groups of 4plus there. Plenty of chairs to throw your towel down on though if you do miss out on a bed and right next to the bar- so even better!
The hotel has a nice natural feel with the chickens, goats etc around but they don't harm or get in your way, and the 2 dogs are very well behaved you have to even call them over to fuss them!
All the staff at the Dorian do their best to make it a comfortable and enjoyable stay and for the price you pay its well worth it. We enjoyed it that much that we've already booked up for next yr!

Well what can I say - this was my second stay at the dorian and only been back for 2 weeks and looking for the third!!!

The hotel is lovely, always clean and tidy, rooms are cleaned daily and the staff working in the restaurant and round the pool work so hard. We arrived at 5 am this time but as before we were helped to our room with our bags. Our room was a basement room - we did consider changing but to be honest it worked out well as the sun didnt shine in the room all day so was kept very cool. Throughout the week we never struggled to get a sun bed around the pool and we were never at breakfast till about 9am. Pool games and activities are on each day and Sonic and Jon work so hard to get everyone involved so please have a try you will have a laugh. Food and drink in the hotel is nice - its not typical english food - but you are in turkey so what more do you want!! We love the food - yes there are wasps and flies - but its an outdoor restaurant! At the bar they do limit you to a drink per person at one time between 10 and 11 pm but we never had a problem getting served - Deryan and the lads were always happy to serve and theyalso keep you entertained by thier constant chatting and dancing.

We used the free shuttle bus down to the beach linked with the hotel and this was great. As far as boat trips - I recommened walking to the beach and walk to the bottom right (small hut) and book direct with the guys there - its much cheaper and they are so nice. Was a bit windy the day we went on so little rough when getting on and off but once we were away it was fine. Turkish bath in the hotel is great and very reasonable price - book one on your first day and you'll get a better sun tan. The dolmus is the cheapest way to get about and if you just walk to the main road you can easily get on one to neighbouring towns. We went to hisaronu market on the monday and was only a 5 min journey.

The hotel is situated just at the top of the main strip of shops and restaurants and its a nice stroll down to them - but far enought from the noise and busy street too.

Anyway what more can I say - have been twice and will go again. Please be considerate to the staff as they all work very hard and they are there to help you enjoy your holiday!!

After booking this holiday we read the reviews and were worried after reading some of the negative comments. However I would have to say that most of the negative comments are unfounded.

Room - We arrived during the evening meal time and were shown to our room by very helpful staff. The room was very clean and is cleaned daily; new towels every day and bed made up special e.g patterns and roses. Our balcony was small but enough room for two people to sit out and hang wet clothes and towels. The air con in the room was excellent and made the room cold within 5mins. The only negative point of the rooms is that ours beds were quite firm and took a few days to get used to.

Pool- There are two pools at the Dorian both with small childrens pools attached. We used the same pool each day so can only speak for one of the pools and its surrounding but it was clean and although it could do with more sunbeds we always managed to get one and an umberella. The views around the pool are fantastic and have 360 views of the mountains and paragliders.

Food and Drink- The food at the hotel is ok, its not the best food but then it is only a 3star. there was a big variety especially of salads and was always bread, pasta rice and chicken to eat. The drinks were a bit hit and miss most nights the drinks were fine; however one or two nights the coke lemonade etc was flat. never had any trouble getting served at the bar and the bar staff are very funny and friendly and mix with all the guests talking and dancing etc. Between 10 and 11 each person is only allowed one drink at a time.

Entertainment- When we booked the holiday we hadnt realised that the hotel had an entertainment team which was a nice surprise. The team is two guys who are both very good at their jobs. there was games and water aerobics during the day and entertainment every night, disco, dancers, games, fire shows etc. The only down side is that the entertainment doesnt start till 10 or even half 10 sometimes but up till then there is music playing.

Olu Deniz itself is lovely and very picturesque and the main shops and beach is only a 5-10 min walk from the hotel. the hotel also has its own free shuttle service to a private beach on the blue lagoon.

very good holiday!!
