Before heading to Olu Deniz we made the mistake of over-reading the negative comments written about Mavruka and Olu Deniz. How hideously wrong people were!!! We arrived at 6am and we were warmly welcomed by both reception staff, one of which helped us to our room and even helped us set everything up (air con etc). The room was amazing, double bed, balcony overlooking the pool/ ocean, nestled in between the mountains and stones throw away from the beach and Lagoon (Little tip BUY beach shoes, the beach is rocky and gets HOT HOT).

The pool area was immaculate, so was the food!! I must have had two rounds of mains every night, and even my girlfriend who is as picky as they come demolished everything, and even wanted more !!

The staff were fantastic, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay !! I didn't get everyone's names but every one made the effort to remember ours !!!

Olu Deniz is a beautiful area and we cant wait to go back, and we will be !!

The Mavruka hotel is a 5* in our eyes, and Olu Deniz and the surrounding areas are amongst the most beautiful we have ever been.

Thanks to everyone at the Mavruka, we will be back

Returned last week from 11 fantastic days at this hotel! Do not know how people can write terrible reviews of this wonderful hotel! I travelled with my two teenage children and we stayed Half board.

FOOD- Before arriving we were a bit apprehensive about the food after reading some bad reviews, however when arriving we were glad to find that the food is fantastic and we had absolutely no need to worry! Yes breakfast is basic but there is something to eat- bread, watermelon, eggs, cold meats, cereals, Turkish pastry, hot dish and also tea, coffee and fruit juice available.
Dinner at night was fantastic every single night! Again not a HUGE selection but always 2 main options, rice and chips/potato wedges. Soup was available every night and always something different which was delicious! a good selection of salads were also available. Good choice of Turkish deserts too and also melon or watermelon available. Could not say a bad thing about the food! Chef is fantastic and cooked lovely meals every night! Do not listen to the bad reviews!!

ROOM- Room was spotless and bigger than average hotel rooms. Shower was very good and there was also a hairdryer available (not the best but does the job) Air con in rooms was also very good and often found the room getting too cold and having to turn it off! Only bad thing is, there is no Wi-Fi available in the rooms! but it is available poolside and at the terrace bar.

POOL- Pool area is lovely, large swimming pool and always plenty of sunbeds. Pool area is mostly quiet during the day and no entertainment.

STAFF- Staff are all lovely and always smiling despite working such long hours! The owner is not very pleasant and atmosphere does change when he is present and is always keeping the staff on their toes! would be nice if he interacted with his guests though.

LOCATION- Location of the hotel is perfect, just off the main strip and only a few minutes walk to the beach.

Overall had a fantastic holiday at this wonderful hotel and would definitely return!!

After reading some pretty negative reviews, we were a little apprehensive on arriving at the hotel. We ended up having the best two week holiday and want to clear up some of the poor feedback that this hotel seems to receive.

The location of the hotel is a stones throw away from the main strip and beach and couldn't have been in a better position. The hotel is absolutely spotless, rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day and pool area is immaculate. The bar and restaurant staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and work long hours (17 hour shifts), so they should be forgiven for looking a bit forlorn and tired occasionally! As for the owner, which many people seem to have given bad reviews, over the two weeks we saw him occasionally and he was always pleasant enough to the guests.

If you are travelling to Turkey and expect to be eating English food then you will be disappointed. If you're prepared to go with an open mind and try the food, it is actually really tasty! Though it isn't laid out glamorously, as in other hotels, don't be put off by this. Breakfast is fairly minimal, though there is certainly something for everyone, the evening meal is far better - a good selection of pastas and salads as well as two main dishes and sides to choose from.

Though there is a 'rule' of no food and drink from outside the hotel allowed, we never saw this rule being enforced. We bought endless bottles of water and snacks back from the supermarket and our bags were never searched etc.

The only negative point we had was that on requesting a double bed on arrival, we were told there was none available and had two singles for the rest of our stay. This appeared to be a common problem among other couples we chatted to, however we pushed the beds together and were given a double sheet and blanket and it wasn't an issue at all.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for - we got a really good deal for two weeks with Thomas Cook and couldn't have asked for a better time. Oludeniz is amazing, with so much to offer in the local area! You'll have a great time!

Start with the good bits. Nice and clean (when the cleaners actually came in and cleaned). Great Location. That's it I am afraid.
First day at the hotel we went for breakfast which consisted of a cold hard boiled egg, bread, cold beans and various veg, olives and fruit. No sign of an omelette or anything else. Went to the reception and asked for the free minibus to Sugar Beach which can be called from every other hotel reception bar this one it would seem. The receptionist had very little understanding of English which is great when 95% of the guests are English. He summonsed someone else who informed us that they do not call outside transport as it is the Hotel's policy to try and get guests to stay and spend money in the hotel. We later spoke to the unhelpful and arrogant manager about this only to be told that they do not call the Sugar Beach minibus as it is a 'dirty beech' which really could not be further from the truth.
We then got stopped taking a tin of Pringles and water into the hotel for our own consumption in our room. I had a sign pointed out to me that only food and drink bought in the hotel is allowed. I pointed out that the hotel did not sell this particular brand but it fell on deaf ears.
We went to Turkey with friends who also stayed in the Veruca...sorry Mavruka Hotel. They had a 14 yr old boy and we had a 16 yr old girl. Both of whom wanted an early sleep but the adults were happy to stay late. The problem was only one key was permitted for each room. As the key was connected to the electronic electricity fob and was soldered together, my daughter either had to sleep without aircon and electricity or we had to wake her up to let us in. There was a nice fridge in the room, however it could not keep anything cold as the electricity is turned off when the room is vacated for the day.
Drinks in the bars were aweful. Tuborg gnats wee and weak spirit drinks and cocktails. Not the fault of the nice bar staff who I hear are paid a pittance for a 15 hour day 7 days a week. ie about £8 for a 15 hr days work! Another nice touch from the owner/manager.
Turkey is a cracking holiday venue, especially Olu Deniz and Sugar Beech, but this hotel and it's staff really are a carbuncle on the backside of Olu.
I really am an easy to please person so I am mistified at the ratings of more than 2* for this prison of a hotel who's overall business intention is to keep you on their propery 24/7

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel would not send a dog there we went half board the food was disgusting the staff were treated poorlyby the owner who is a miserable man i would not recommend to anybody and the room we were dumped in for 4 adults was terrible , I asked to b moved to a family room to which they said would cost 60 pounds a night! I paid 2200 for this holiday no one wanted to help accommodate you be warned 4 star I don't think so stayed in much better with fab food served more food on a mates buffet table pathetic no idea how to cook or to run a hotel. I have been all over turkey the last 10 years and this has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed the only good thing was it was spotless Julie

Nice hotel, nice pool, good location 2 min walk to beach front and main strip of shops and restraurants but not noisy at night , large rooms ,no problems at all, but bit of a walk to blue lagoon but up the road there is the white hotel and our friends stayed there and it was cheaper than mavruka hotel and it was just as nice even though it was a 3 star and there room was smaller but it was cosy and I would probably stay there next time and I don't know why people are moaning about the bar staff because they were all very friendly at the mavruka hotel
