I have recently returned from an 11 night stay at Leytur, and how I wish I had taken heed of the terrible/poor/average reviews that have occasionally been posted on here. I generally leave review writing to my partner, but I felt so strongly about my Leytur experience that I felt compelled to register and write my own.
I spent many hours reading through reviews of this hotel, blinded by the number of glowing reviews, I put the negatives down to those people who are just hard to please. In actual fact every single negative review was 100% accurate.
PLEASE take time out to read all of this, especially if you like a HOT shower outside the hours of 4pm to 7pm..!!!!
We arrived at 4am and were greeted by the gardener, a very pleasant gent who spoke no English (luckily we had nothing to say or ask on arrival). He swiftly showed us to our room (assisting with my partners case) which was ground floor as we had requested due to my partner having bad knees. The room was very nice, a good size with fresh modern decor and good storage space, and the bathroom was modern and very nice too. After a good sleep, we went up to reception to meet Leyla. She seemed pleasant enough, we sorted out paying for a safe at £1.50 per day, but turned down air conditioning at £4.50 a day as it gives my partner headaches. We had a brief chat and told her we thought the hotel was very pleasant. We then left to head into Hisaronu for the afternoon which was a 5 minute dolmus trip away costing just 2 lira(70p) each. When we returned around 6pm, I went for a shower (Luke warm) while my partner chose to wait until later. As we were still quite drained from the previous days travelling we thought we'd eat a meal in the hotel, so we wandered up to the dining area and asked if we could be seated to eat. After 2 staff speaking little English had got flustered by our request, Leyla arrived to solve our problem, however she informed us that due to a wedding taking place that afternoon/evening they would be unable to offer us anything from the menu, and instead we could eat from the wedding BBQ. So she had offered us food that was paid for by the wedding party, and it was that or nothing. This basically meant all guests who were nothing to do with the wedding would have to go elsewhere to eat. We were b&b so not a big deal, but felt for those who were half/full board and had to make do with BBQ food or travel out of the hotel. So we headed off to Hisaronu for the evening. Returning to the hotel at around 9.30pm my partner decided to take a shower..COLD WATER. We called reception to report the problem and another of the staff speaking little English put my partner on hold. 10 minutes later she hung up, fed up with holding the phone to her ear, and I went out to find Leyla. Dragging her away from the wedding party, I explained to her that there was a problem with the hot water. She tried explaining to me that the water was cold of a night for several reasons.. The solar panels hadn't been getting enough sun (was 24/7 sunshine throughout our whole stay, and the panels are meant to store power), the sun wasn't warm enough (has no relevance whatsoever on solar panels), the water has to travel a long way through the pipes to our room (so it should get hot if left running for 15 mins!! It didn't), the hotel is very busy so the hot water is getting used up quicker.. Yes these a real reasons she gave me. Half asleep, I ambled back to the room and we decided to leave it until the morning. 3pm the following day my partner again went to shower, and yet again COLD WATER.! We got ready to head out and again approached Leyla asking about the hot water situation. She now took to calling us liars, "feel my hair, I've just had a shower" she exclaimed.. Well lucky her... We explained that 10 mins ago the water was freezing, and she said she would send the maid over to check it out, after asking if I knew how to work a tap and a shower. Well I'd managed fine the previous evening.!! Low and behold, when we returned that evening Leyla leapt at us claiming the water was boiling hot when the maid had gone to check shortly after we left. What a coincidence.!! After a few terse words we headed back to the room to attempt a shower.... Joy unconfined, 6.30 pm and warm water was flowing. The following morning at breakfast we were again snared by Leyla, who very insistently with a big smile tried to force a room change upon us, claiming a room nearer to the "solar panels" would enable us to get a drop more warm water.. As this was on the 3rd floor we declined. Leyla then attempted to lighten the mood by joking with my partner.... "Why you want to shower in the mornings or late a night, are you 18 or something, you must be really wild wanting to shower at all times".. Well no actually, we are on holiday and would like to choose when to shower at our own convenience and not be dictated to as to when we can have hot water. Hot water and the ability to shower, shave, wash, freshen up should be a basic provision, not a luxury offered at set times.
Basically, once we got around all of Leyla's lame excuses as to why there was no hot water, we discovered the water is turned on from 4pm until 6pm, and then remains warm until 7pm or shortly after, meaning you get a window of 3 hours per day in which to shower, shave, wash etc etc.
The other huge problem with this hotel, as stated in ALL of the negative reviews, is that the hotel is extremely CLIQUEY in our opinion and is generally frequented with returning guests from what we witnessed, many of retirement age. The majority of these are well aware of how the hotel operates in our opinion and are more than happy to spend all day everyday sat round the pool chewing the fat with Leyla, and pop in for a shower at 5pm before rejoining Leyla for dinner. As most of the guests are returning regulars, as you can see from their multiple reviews of the hotel, it doesn't really bother them so they don't complain. That's fine, and if we wanted to sit by the pool all day everyday the hot water wouldn't be such an issue, but Leyla has to realise that some of her guests might want to have days out and god forbid, they might want to shower at 8pm after returning from a day trip. Or they might want a morning wash or shower with warm water, or they might have a baby that needs a warm water clean during the day.
Overall, the FACT is Leyla only has interest in those guests who put up and shut up. She certainly doesn't take well to criticism or complaints.. From day 3 for 8 more days she never spoke a word to us, her husband seems to be on site permanently and he never spoke to us at all not even an introduction. Luckily we made friends with another couple who had crossed Leyla's path (requested a ground floor room and got given 3rd floor in the roof!!!), and between us all we had a great few days around the pool oblivious to Leyla's icy glare.
The hotel itself is very nice, the pool is clean and good and was never overcrowded, the room was very nice and spacious, the hotel grounds are well kept, the views around the hotel a fantastic, the cleaners and gardener are friendly but speak little English, it's a real nice place to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle... Is just a real shame Leyla doesn't run the hotel to its potential, if she catered for everyone equally and loosened the purse strings for the hot water, we'd have loved it and would have returned for sure. As it is, we will NEVER return here...FACT

Beds are very very hard
Bar prices very high compared to Hisaronu, Fethiye, Olu Deniz
No kettle, fridge, cups etc.
If taking anything of high value with you, the safe is secured to a cupboard that can be simply removed from the room.
Hotel has zero atmosphere unless u are in the clique around the bar
Wasps are a persistent menace around the bar and the outside dining area
