“A fantastic hotel in a great location”
Reviewed 31 July 2009

This was our fifth visit to Hotel Leytur. There were ten of us in our party, ranging from 24 to 60 and everyone loves it. It is a small, family run hotel in a quiet location in Ovacik in the mountains.

Leyla, her husband Sukru and all the staff, from the maids, gardener and bar staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel, pool, poolside and bedrooms are all spotlessly clean. Food at the hotel is excellent, we love the Turkish breakfast sitting overlooking the mountains/pool and the poolside lunches and evening meals are also excellent. The Turkish night is great fun, fantastic buffet meal and a fun evening with the belly dancer, audience participation is a must!

It is great relaxing round the pool, no problem getting sunbeds and the pool is the clearest we have come across. There is a room with pool table, darts and table tennis for the more active.

Hop on a dolomus at the end of the road to go into Hisonaru, or you can walk, where there are good restaurants, shops and bars, and great hairdressers (manicure £4, pedicure £8 and hair cut and blow dry only £10). The customary Turkish bath is also a must. A little further on the bus takes you to Olu Deniz and the fabulous Blue Lagoon where the sea is crystal clear. It is also good for eating (Buzz Bar excellent) and good bars and shops, Great to sit on bean bags on the beach and have a cocktail. In the other direction is Fethiye with its lovely harbour and labyrinth of shops and bars/restaurants. We would recommend the fish market, chose which fish you want and they cook it for you in one of the restaurants around the market. The boat trips are great (we would recommend Carolye and Tayfun, 12 island cruise and sunset cruise), they provide transport to and from the hotel and provide a bbq on board. Excellent value for money. Kaya is also worth a visit.

Back to the hotel, we just love its tranquillity and there is always a nice breeze. The bar area is great for meeting other guests and Leyla and her staff are always there to chat.

We cant wait to return next year and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

we have just returned from 2 weeks at the leytur read all the reviews like you do sounded to good to be true for what we paid and it was most people that go here return year after year but i really cant see why hotel owner very frosty whether we werent spending enough money in their we werent really sure we asked to change rooms as it was quite noisy fron leda hotel with kareoke most nights so whether that got us of to bad start not really sure you are watched in and out every night as they sit right by the entrance every night but if there is no entertainment why would you want to sit at a bar every night we certainly didnt want to. The sheets on our bed were only changed twice in 2 weeks and that was cause i asked, towels only changed if you put them in shower tray nofridge in room so you couldnt keep any drinks cool not that they liked you taking food or drinks in to rooms, i think all my family felt owners were rude they would only speak when they wanted to a customer service course needed i think .ali was lovely and so are the cleaners they do work hard pool was clean i wouldnt argue with that but nothing for children really i can imagine pool a bit overcrowded when hotel full .Games room with couple of table tennis ,pool etc but even had to pay for that air conditioning not free but you need it the only thing in room to say hotel is 3 star is hairdryer .ovacik is quite a good base to stay you must go to copacabana club in hisarounu brilliant night elvis night good in steakhouse in olu deniz best steak we had probably best meal we had all in all we had a great holiday and just used hotel as base like i said in beginning you get what you pay for breakfast same every day turkish salad if you like that.

Just for once, this hotel was exactly as it stated in the guides. It was quiet, charming and comfortable. It was not situated in the middle of a loud and busy resort but both Fethiye and Olu Deniz were only 10/15 minutes dolmus ride away. We only booked B&B but we ate in the hotel restaurant once or twice and enjoyed the food. The rooms were basic but comfortable and were cleaned on a regular basis to a fairly high standard.
The owners and staff were very friendly, especially Ali and Ugur, (thanks guys!) and they all contributed to making our holiday enjoyable.
We hope to return for another holiday here soon but please, please, please, can we have a fridge in the room. That would change a great holiday into a perfect one!

What are people talking about this place is a little gem. O.K. so the towels are a bit rough, if you want fluffy ones go to a 5* all inclusive like we did in Tunisia last year for 3X the price. But I'll tell you what I much preferred this hol. You're only paying £112/room/wk, what do you expect. Leyla will do anything for you and all the staff are one big family who invite you in if you want it. It's a small family run hotel in a quiet area of Ovacik (although the disco noise from the rear hotel needs sorting) were you can stroll into Hisaronu of an evening in 25 mins or catch the dolmus every 10 mins for 80p. Do ask Leyla for details of Billy's beach its lovely and great value.
Restaurants- Peppino's (near the Olive tree),best pizza in the world, El Ninos for steak/fish. Olive tree is overpriced, Bees Knees-rubbish steak but great ambience.
Currency-take sterling and change there.
All in all its a lovely hotel with a super clean pool and great view. To give you an idea of the feeling of the place not one person reserved a sunbed with a towel all the time we were there. We met some lovely people and the Turkish night actually lived up to expectations at a reasonable cost. Oh yes and the hotel food is excellent/reasonable with morning coffe to die for. Breakfast is always fresh and Turkish (But we are in Turkey-DOH!) Enjoy-you will!!

I've just returned from The Leytur so thought I would write an honest review.

We arrived on Leyla's birthday and were greeted extremely warmley with a piece of birthday cake and it really put us in the right mood for the holiday. The rooms were basic but very clean and the maids sometimes left little flowers on the bed which was a lovely touch. My only small complaint with the room is that there was no fridge and our sink didn't hold water so we had no way of keeping the bottles of water we bought cool and the towels were a little rough.

Leyla was very helpful and always on hand to speak to and was very friendly and warm. I didn't eat an evening meal there just lunch time. The food was a little pricey for what it was but tasted nice and did the job so to speak.

Their were groups of people that have been going for years but I didn't find them clicky at all. I met some lovely people.

There is a bus at the moment that takes you everywhere you could need to go and comes every five minutes. I would recommended eating at Olive Tree, Suntrap and The Piano Bar is Hisaronu and if you go into Olu Deniz then Bella Gusto was amazing. Do try Paragliding if you get a chance it's the best thing I ever did. You have to pay to get onto the Blue Lagoon but do it because it's well worth it. It was like being in the Maldives.

Ovacik is remote but in the middle of everything.

I had a great holiday all in all.
