Just returned from another 2 weeks at the Greenland, could not fault it at all,food still up to the usual good standard, Ramazan works hard making the fresh bread for dinner every day well done, the staff remember you on your return, maids work amazingly hard keeping your room clean, we upgraded to block 6 room 616 the bathroom only had a bath with overhead shower, and the toilet
was set up on a plinth which made it quite difficult to get in the bath, don't think I will upgrade again, the umbrella poles clip retainers badly need attention as nearly every one was faulty , as in June, needed to paper in to hold it up, come on management get this sorted for next year while you are closed, met a lot of lovely people Richard and Ally, Pat and Joan, Roy and Anita Donna and Neal and a brave lady on her own Meg, who every one made welcome by including her in their company says it all, see you all again next year cant wait.

Room Tip: depends on how able you are block one, or block five if you are fit and able to cope with the incli...

We returned to the Greenlands for the second time on 16th September for a 2 week holiday. Once again we booked throug Low Cost Holidays who passed on our room requests to the hotel. A few weeks prior to our holiday we also emailed the hotel to confirm our requests and on arrival we found they had taken note and fulfilled our requests - first class service. We once again stayed in block 6 as it is qieter by the top pool and is now designated he swim and chill area. Although the jacuzzi at the top pool (not a childrens pool as stated in a previous review), did not appear to be working during our stay, it was good to see that unlike last year, it was not being used as a childrens play area, which made the top pool far more relaxing for those who wanted to chill out.

We were really looking forward to our return visit following our holiday last year and were pleased to notice several improvements had been made. The placing of benches round the hotel, new signage for the accommodation and amenities, fresh sweet and savoury wraps made to order by the top pool (delicious), in addition to the afternoon snacks, assorted biscuits and cakes by the hot and cold drinks stations located around the hotel are some of the improvements that we noticed. In addition we feel the food had improved since last year especially the desserts.
How people can complain about the food we do not know,as there was always fresh food cooked at the cooking stations at each meal as well as ready prepared food and salads, olives, cold meats, cheeses and mezzes. When we said it would be nice to have some grated cheese for the pasta dishes this was provided for us. It would be good if this was already available. As previously stated ice cream would be a welcome addition at meal times.
The hotel areas in general are kept clean, the gardens are kept well maintained and look and smell lovely and the pools and pool areas are cleaned every night.
We had a deluxe room in block 6 (601) which was spacious with plenty of storage space, well decorated with a full bathroom and a sizeable balcony. It was kept immaculately clean by our room maid Mihriban who also decorated our beds regularly and on one occasion it was done in the most spectacular way we have ever seen. It is important to note that if you wish to tip your maid, give the money to her personally as they will not take it if it is just left on the side for them. Our maid deserved all the tips we gave her.

Although DJ (Serkan) and Hassan worked hard to provide entertainment and it was really fun and enjoyable, both inhouse and the imported acts, we do feel that the atmosphere in the Tipsy Turtle could be enhanced by improved stage lighting and coloured mood lighting. There are less spotlights this year and many did not work - the whole area could do with a bit of revamp which would enhance the atmosphere and would encourage more guests to use this area. Also the music played needs to fit in with the age range and needs of the audience, rather than playing all the latest club type music.
For those who want a quieter and more relaxed evening the terrace above the Tipsy Turtle Bar by reception and the terrace bar by the upper pool, which also has a TV lounge area are nice places to chill out with a drink and chat with other guests.

As last year the Turkish bath experience which can be booked through Yusuf by the bottom pool, is amazing and should not be missed. You are taken by the owner to the Pasa spa and hamam where you are pampered and come out feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated. There are a variety of treatments and packages available at reasonable prices. The staff are very professional, friendly and welcoming and soon become like old friends. We always go twice on our holiday as it is so good - the highlight of our holiday.
Another outing we really enjoy and recommend is a boat trip. We always go with Captain Tommy who sails from Olu Deniz beach and he will pick you up and drop you back at your hotel. The boat is not overcrowded, an excellent lunch is provided and it is a laid back and relaxing day with no loud music. We paid £12 fo the day including lunch - drinks and ice creams are extra and reasonably priced and there is also a boat that comes round selling freshly made pancakes - the chocolate and banana ones are to die for!

For those who want a change of scenery, Hisaronu (market day Monday) and Fethiye (market day Tuesday) are just a short dolmus (bus) ride away, as is Olu Deniz although th hotel does run a courtesy bus here on a daily basis.
Also if you want a meal out we can recommend The Curry Palace in Hisaronu opposite the Luna Park. They do an A La Carte Menu and also a set menu for a reasonable 24 lira.
The Karaoke Bar in Hisaronu is also ideal for a good night out and sells 'Buy one get one free' cocktails and provides great music and karaoke.

Around the hotel you will see chickens, cats and tortoises wandering freely and the hotel also has 2 dogs - Bella a spaniel who likes to see the guests, and Olivia, a Turkish mountain dog who loves a fuss.

The staff at the hotel are wonderful without exception. Special thanks to Ramazan and the other chefs, Aslan the restaurant manager and waiters, Adem x 2, Emrah, andYusuf. Also to DJ and Hassan, Bobbie (Michael Jackson) and the rest of the bar staff, Yusuf for arranging our Turkish bath and Mihriban our maid. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff help make our holiday really special and many have become firm friends and are keeping in touch with us.

The manager and owner of the hotel visit it frequently to check standards are being maintained and are very approachable and open to suggestions for improvements. There is also a comment book in reception that they read and they take on board any comments made.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and like others will be booking to return next year and can't wait to reunite with the friends we have made, both staff and guests,

Room Tip: Consider upgrading to a deluxe room - well worth the extra money.

Stayed at the Greenland from July 13th 2012 for one week and could not find one fault! Lovely clean hotel, wonderful gardens in a beautiful location (just look at the photos!). At the beginning of the week it wasn't to busy but as the week went on much more families started arriving (probably because the school holidays were approaching) but didn't bother us as we headed up to the top 'quiet' pool. Plenty to eat, you will never go hungry! As well as breakfast, lunch and dinner they serve snacks such as pizza, sandwiches and chips and a pancake lady is also at the hotel a couple of days a week, try the cheese and potato pancake!

We mainly just stopped in the hotel around the pool as the temperature reached 50 degrees!! But headed in to Hisaronu once in the day and once for a night out. Its quiet a walk down so would recommend getting a taxi or the dolmus (the local buses but they are more like mini-buses). The dolmus are very regular and cheap around 2 lira a journey per person, if you just walk out of the hotel, turn right and head down to the main road and stick your arm out the dolmus will pick you up. Hisaronu is a nice little town but not very traditional.

If your looking for a more traditional evening head in to Fethiye and go to the fish market. You can buy your fish from the center of the market and take it to one of the restaurants around the edge of the market and they will charge around 6 Lira to cook it and serve it with bread and salad, the market is clearly a favorite with the Turkish as not many holiday makers around but that just shows it must be good!. Our evening in Fethiye was certainly my favorite night of the holiday. We booked it through our Thomas Cook rep so paid £5 for a trip to a Turkish delight factory, a gold shop (pretty boring, we just stopped outside and sat on the harbor) and then you can walk around the market. However the rep didn't know a thing about the fish market so we just asked the locals and they directed us.

I could go on and on as the hotel and surrounding areas are lovely, would certainly go back to this hotel and my only complaint was that I only booked for one week not two!!

Also yes the rooms may be a little small but they are perfectly clean and well decorated with a lovely little balcony but there was still plenty of storage space.

Room Tip: Head down to the fish market in Fethiye for a very traditional evening, its a real hidden gem!

What a lovely friendly intimate Hotel.
On first impressions however after everyone we spoke to (and everyone was so friendly, we met so many people just on the first day) said that they were returning customers, but we at first couldnt understand why!!!!! It wasnt anything different or better than the norm.
BUT after the first couple of days i so knew why, from the hotel staff to the wonderful 'quiet' pool at the top, to our bedroom, to the food, to the ambience of the whole hotel it is just sooooo lovely. It seems to have a whole new dimension to being on holiday that weve not experienced before, we felt so at home and so sorry to have to leave. We made many friends and (this is a first for me) we WILL be returning no doubt about it we are hooked.
Thankyou to the 3 wonderful, jolly, and so accommodating waiters that treat us like royalty they made our holiday so special and they all deserve a big pat on the back - Emrah, Adem and Adam, thankyou to you all.
Only one downside _ the All INCLUSIVE drinks were terrible there was very limited choice, if you were to have a cocktail or a different drink to the menu you had to pay for it. In all the years weve been going all inclusive this is a first to us, so that was a little disappointing,. but certainly didnt spoil our holiday.

3rd time at the Greenland. All the hotel staff very polite and helpful. Hotel clean. Food to eat all day long (if you can manage it) with a wide choice. I have no problems of going to this hotel by myself, as I find most of the holiday makers friendly, and some return year after year, so I have made some new friends from my visits. Looking forward to next year.

Just returned from Hotel Greenland and had a great time. We had a nice room overlooking the 'quiet' pool. On the off chance I emailed the hotel before we went saying it was our anniverary and requested a nice quiet room , on our arrival the manager had upgraded us free of charge (you can upgrade for £20 per night on arrival). The room was large with masses of storage and was cleaned on a daily basis.

The hotel itself is set nicely in the mountains but offered a free shuttle bus daily to the beach if thats your scene. The hotel staff are friendly from managers , waitors and maids.

Food is a contencious issue , i know it is personal preference , but there were times that the choice was pretty sparce and some times repetetive. I think it is coming to the end of the season and maybe this was the reason.

Drinks are your typical all inclusive..you could taste the Gin but not the vodka!! lts of tea / coffee / water facilities around the hotel.

Ther pools are great..but cold!! we sat up by the 'quiet' pool where the sun came up about 9am althoughI would not consider the other pool to be noisy. The pool is all one depth (1.45m) so not neccessarily for younger children.
There are pool bars at each pool and quite often at night was great if you wanted to get away from the bustle of the entertainment.

One piece of advice is to use sterling during your holidays - it is widely accepted and perferred.

All in all a great holiday and would recommend this hotel

Anyone who takes exception to this hotel must have a wonderful home life, and need to improve their spelling. The staff are incredible, the location is great and just a great experience. We met many people who had returned for 5,6,7 times, and we have already joined them for next year for our second visit. Very relaxing. Very good staff. We went as a family of myself, my wife, my son, my daughter and our granddaughter. I can honestly say that from 3yr old to 64yr old we all enjoyed every minute. The food was good and varied, unless you are used to burger and chips every night. The drinks were probably watered down but we never saw anybody drunk so, if you want to pay for full strength drinks and get drunk, go somewhere else. We met some lovely people while we were there Joseph, Emrah, Adam to name but a few but we also met people who have become more than friends, from other parts of the country, that we very much intend to keep in touch with in a big way. I was going to write a bad review so we could be able to book for September next year but, as it happens, there are still 4 rooms left on the week we want.
