“Fantastic hotel”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

Just returned today from 7 days of relaxing and drinking from the greenland hotel, the staff were really helpful and always smiling, special thanks to Joseph who recommended to us the Turkish bath which was great, (1st time had one and loved it) the bar staff on the night were great, spoke to 007 who was a nice guy. Cesar and his cousin were fantastic for the entertainment on the nights, always dancing and joking and keeping the children happy,
Food and alcoholic drinks was very good with varied selection, we spent a lot of time in the top pool as we had no kids, but have already booked again today to return end of July 2014 with out teenage boys, last thing to mention is we met some fantastic people there who helped make our holiday great, be back July 2014

We returned on 2/8/2013 after having 11 days at this lovely hotel. We upgraded our rooms before we went and could'nt have asked for better. We had room 639 and our daughter & son-in-law had 638. We over looked the top pool which we found better for us as we did'nt have children. It was so clean everywhere and the staff so friendly. Rooms clean and lovely size. There is a hill up to this pool and the rooms but it is shaded and not to bad if taken at a slow pace. Food we found good. We never had a bad meal. Sometimes found there was to much choice that we did'nt know what to have. Drinks good, not watered down and the beer was ok. Afternoon snacks, good selection but only thing they could do is ice-creams for the children (and adults). We took taxi's to oludeniz beach the one day but it was a pebble beach we did'nt know, so i would'nt recommend this beach. The shops are ok. We went to Hisaronu one evening, this has lots of shops and bars. The other trip was to Fethiye which we loved. There is a bus that takes you to a sandy beach from the hotel which we did'nt get to. They also supply towels for 10tl which you get back at the end of the holiday and you can change them every day. There are a few shops in walking distance if you wont to for a walk. We had a fab time and would recommend it to friends and family and would deffo go back. Thanks Greenland for a lovely holiday.

Room Tip: The rooms near top pool are bigger with less noise.

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel in June, & had a great time. It is in a very pretty setting with lovely pine trees all around for shade and lovely mountain views. Its very clean & even though the rooms are small they are decorated and furnished to a good standard. Very comfortable beds. Food was very good, as always with all inclusive, gets a bit repetitive but there was always plenty of choice, There is tea & coffee making facilities at both the pools as well as the pool bars which were always well stocked & clean. The hotel is warm friendly & well worth a visit.

Room Tip: upgrade to rooms at the quiet pool as they are more sunny"

Have just returned from 2 weeks at the Greenland. have to say we had a brill time. Food was good and everyone should be able to find something they like. (even my grandchildren didn't go hungry!!) We will agree with other reviews that the rooms are small by hey how long do you stay in your room?. If you are have children we would suggest upgrade to a family room which are a good size. Everyone from staff to others on holiday were friendly and always spoke to you. many had been numerous time before. At this point Hi to Martin & Dec. it was great to meet you and keep in touch.
The room cleaners were very good and kept our rooms clean. Animation work soooo hard. Hassan. Cesar and Sarah well done.
The kids club was a bit of a disappointment although Sarah did her best it was poorly equipt and had to leave children alone if another was crying to go back to their parent!!! Cesar did a brill job of Gangam Style!!. and a mention to all the staff in the restaurant. they work long hours but always had a smile.
The only down sides are picky little things like we felt that ice creams should be included in the All Inclusive package. The water slide could be a bit of a health & safety issue as when people got out of the pool to go back to the top they had to go up a set of steps that everyone else used so became VERY wet. Have to say it was great not to have to wear arm bands!!!!
Would highly recommend the jeep safari. Get some water guns & prepare to get wet!! we had a fantastic day out booked with Easy Riders in Olu denis. Also did the 6 island boat trip with them again had a good day. if you do Butterfly island would not recommend the trek to the waterfall. not much to see and the trek back down becomes wet & slippery...my hubby fell. although, thankfully, not injuring himself too badly it could have been serious. Thanks to 2 very helpful chaps we got him back to the boat safely.
All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend the Greenland for a nice family hotel in a pretty location & within easy reach of the nearby towns using the local dolmus buses.

Room Tip: Rooms by the quiet pool are up a hill but a lot quieter. If you are a family with children upgrade t...

We've just returned after an all too short 7 days in this fantastic hotel. The Greenland is a gem of an hotel, all the staff are really keen to make your holiday as relaxing as possible and nothing seems too much trouble. We were right at the top of the hill and it was really quiet and peaceful with no sound at all at night. One reviewer complains the sheets are thin - tip, adjust the air-con to 22-23C and it's perfect. We didn't find the slopes/steps a problem but those with limited mobility will have to take their time if they are in rooms at the top of the hotel but don't let this put you off, the walk down through the woods is really pleasant and you can check out the chickens and tortoises which roam free (yes, tortoises!). The local dolmus bus service is an interesting and inexpensive way to see the area and they seem to run about every 5-10 minutes. You must go to Olu Diniz and see the fabled Blue Lagoon but be prepared to pay 6TL entrance and then hire sunbeds and shades and it would be prudent to take your own picnic and drinks.
Mosquito repellent is a must, not the fault of the hotel, just a fact of life. We will certainly return to this wonderful hotel as soon as possible and speaking to other guests, many are returning travellers which says it all!

Me and my partner have recently returned from a week stay at Greenland and must say that we had a brilliant time. The room was lovely and perfect for two of us, it was cleaned everyday and had fresh towels and linen every other day. It hasn't put us off another visit here but I would say at this point that all of the rooms are located off a fairly steep ramp, just to warn you before you arrive. However, this does help to keep you fit especially after eating all of the delicious food and deserts that are available.
The food was brilliant and we can't fault it at all. There was a variety of options available both hot and cold and the desert choice was amazing. There was never chance to get hungry, as once dinner was done, the pool snacks were readily available and I would highly recommend trying the freshly made pancakes from the women based near the top pool. They weren't there everyday, but they were there for the majority of days.
The pools are well maintained and the scenery is lovely. We don't have any children yet, so we spent most of our time at the top pool, but both pools have smaller pools for young children.
The staff are very friendly and more than willing to help, especially the cleaning ladies, they were the friendliest that we came across!!
We did leave the hotel a couple of nights to go to Hisaronu and try the food there. On the first trip we used a taxi, which cost us 20TL for a one way trip. However for the next visit we learned of the buses that cost just 2TL each and drops you right into the centre of Hisaronu or Olundeniz. Just walk the short journey down to the main road and one will pick you up fairly quickly, they also run until around 1am I believe. If you do venture into Hisaronu, I would highly recommend the Turkish Ivy restaurant which is right in the centre of the pubs and clubs (near the azda) for authentic Turkish food, it was amazing and such good value for money.
This was both of ours first visit to turkey and I must say that we had an amazing time. I would highly recommend this hotel and area to anyone looking for either a relaxing holiday or a more fun filled holiday with such easy access to beaches and busier nightlife.
We would definitely return to Greenland.

Just returned back from a ten day stay at hotel Greenland (22/07/2013 -2/08/2013). What a little gem in the hillside of Ovacik. I will not repeat what others have said before. But myself, my husband and two teenage children had a great holiday here. It was our first holiday to Turkey this hotel has left us wanting to visit again. As perviously mentioned the staff certainly make this hotel and are credit to the hotel, this is certainly the best hotel we have stayed in. The food was excellent and we certainly enjoyed the pancakes at the top of the little incline, which got steeper over the week. All in all a good 10 day holiday.
