We stayed at Miravida Soho (MS) for a total of six nights during our visit to Argentina in May 2011. We were booked to stay in an apartment hotel during the last leg of our travel but cancelled that since Miravida Soho seemed like a home away from home and we did not wish to stay anywhere else.

What makes MS so special? Well, many things. The great location in Palermo Soho, lovely rooms (we stayed in their spacious suite which was perfect for me, my wife and our 14 year old son), great housekeeping, very good breakfast (the chef makes great eggs and yougurt with fruits and granola) and everything else about the hotel including its decor.

But most of all, it was the warm and friendly staff - every one of them! - who spoke English and Cornel who owns the place and is ever ready for a chat (which is wonderful since he is such a well travelled person). Cornel and his wonderful team are eager to help and give any information that a guest may ask for.

One day when my wife requested that some clothes be laundered we had our requested catered to and discovered later that the staff had done it for us free of cost, as a favour, despite there being no laundry facility for guests - there are launderettes near the hotel.

Miravida Soho is an example of perfect hospitality and a dream stay option. I tried hard to think of some negatives to make my review objective, but couldn't think of any!

Room Tip: The suite is spacious

The sophisticated, cordial owner of this small hotel employs the most competent, attentive and pleasant staff. The rooms are spacious and impeccable, especially the 2 rooms suite where we stayed for most of the week. The wine bar is superior and there were two different, very well informed sommeliers who were most knowledgeable and charming. There is also a cosy, quiet inner courtyard that captures some sun. Also, the price is inclusive so there is no haggling over money and cash.

Location and service are two words that come to mind when we think of our stay at Miravida Soho. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and professional which made one feel at home. We stayed in 2 rooms during 3 separate stays - room 3 and room 6. Room 6 was a great space, ideal for 2 people without getting in each others way! Breakfast was great, the wine tasting with Devin was a lot of fun. Cornel the owner was a delight and great to chat with over a glass of wine. Despite what some reviews say about the location, it was very convenient to walk around to shops, cafes and restaurants.

We stayed at Miravida Soho for seven days in total. It is in a very convenient location and the small square (or triangle) in front of the hotel is leafy and pretty. Our room was small but comfortable, and a hairdrier was provided (not shampoo or conditioner). We really enjoyed the breakfasts, and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the hotel. The staff are without exception excellent - really welcoming and helpful. They all speak good English. If we come to Buenos Aires again we will stay at Miravida.

I picked Miravida because of the reviews. They were correct. Tripadvisor is my travel Bible and all you people who contribute have not let me down, thank you. We were a group of 10 Aussies so they wine bar became very handy. The staff at Miravida went above and beyond their duty. Nothing was too much trouble, gave great advice. The poor staff probably didn't know what hit them with all of us arriving at once and the day we left another four Aussies arrived. Breakfast was great and on our day of departure we had an early start and Frauke arranged for someone to come in rather early so we did not miss out on breakfast. We stayed in room 3, and it was very adequate size wise, very quiet and it overlooked the courtyard. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
