If you want a nice place to celebrate this will do it. It's prices are according to the food and service you get.

“A Letdown”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

This is a lovely venue with food that is disappointingly spotty. My corvino from the Italian side of the menu was well prepared but accompanied by an enormous pile of pedestrian stir fried julienne vegetables. My husband's Indian dish was so mild as to be almost tasteless.....Indian fare doesn't need to be hot but it should taste appropriately of spices and seasonings. Service was very slow and indifferent. Nothing better than ok.

“Decent Indian fusion dishes”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

Co-workers wanted to eat some Indian food after a few day of steak dinners. We called in advance to make sure they have the table for us before we headed over.

Very classic and cozy setting. The menu was kind of mix of Indian and Italian food. We had shrimp risotto, Chicken Masala, Veggie Biriyani, and shrimp curry. Shrimp risotto was excellent. The risotto was lighted grilled so it was brown and crispy. The shrimp was light version of Shrimp Scampi. Perfect combination together.

Masala and curry were pretty good but not as spicy as I would expected from Indian food. Nans were extra charged but was really good. Biriyani was totally a disappointment as no spices in there as it is supposed to be. Basically it was more like a mexican fried rice instead of Indian food.

The services were decent and professional. We enjoyed the talking in this comfortable setting. Next time, I would choose more Italian food instead of Indian food from the menu.

“Fabulous Indian/Italian tasting menu, impeccable service, beautiful setting”
Reviewed 27 April 2013

My friend and I entered Bengal at about 8:30PM with no reservation. It is a small venue with only a smattering of tables, most of which were marked as reserved, but we got a nice table by the window. Bengal's menu presents both Indian and Italian dishes, rather than fusion.

My friend recommended we try the tasting menu, and I'm so glad we did. A seemingly endless array of dishes followed, and the portion size of each was larger than I would expect from a tasting menu. Dishes included a light and refreshing crudo of Chilean sea bass, a rich seafood curry, a simple pan-fried branzino fillet, a meat lasagna, and a Bengali chicken curry served with rice. We were so stuffed from these we limited our dessert rounds to just a taste of helado. Overall, I'd say the Italian dishes were better-prepared. I like my Indian food with a little more heat and punch.

Service was attentive and professional throughout. The owner watches over every aspect of service to ensure quality and chatted with us before we left.

Dinner for two with one glass of wine, several bottles of agua sin gas, and bread service came to 400 pesos before tip. This is considered expensive in BsAs, but it is a steal by North American standards. Definitely give this a try if you are getting tired of the fabulous parillas!

“High Quality But Not Truly Indian”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

We enjoyed having lunch with an elegant set of patrons, but were disappointed that the Indian fare was limited at best. Delicious food, very nice ambiance, excellent service – but expensive. Bengal appears to be oriented mainly toward business executives.
