This place is fantastic. There´s no way around it. Its heritage, food and wines, understated elegance and ambiance makes it the perfect place to get, at a glance, a synoptic view of this amazing city. I tried some local dishes and enjoyed every minute of my stay in this restaurant. I highly recommend it.

A real true argentinian culinary experience. Dishes are prepared with delight and sophistication without forgetting their origin. The waiters are proper, fun and witty when needed; they complement the experience. Out of 1o days in Buenos Aires, dinned at La Cava del Querandi 5 times. My personal favorites: entraña (best ever!), fettucini nero... MMMMM! and the Trucha del Sur (trout of the South)... to die for!
Rmbr to book a wine tasting with the Somelier... it WILL change the role of wine in your life. Thank you!It is so good, my husband and I will plan a future trip back to Buenos Aires just to go back to La Cava. See you all very soon!

We found La Cava during our visit at the end of February after searching long and hard for a wine bar in Buenod Aires that actually served wines by the glass. There are few dedicated wine bars in the city and most only sell wine by the bottle. With so many fabuluos wines being made in Argentina we wanted to taste more than 1 -2 wines per night. The wine bar is adjacent to the El Querandi restaurant and Tango show venue. There was no posted wine menu. My husband just told the sommelier Sebastian Gamboggi that he was interested in tasting some good Torrontes wines and Sebastian brought up 3 bottles from the cellar. Each was from a different area and were all excellent. We didn't discuss the cost of any of this and I feared we were going to be charged for all 3 bottles but we were charged by the glass. The price was comparable to what we would pay in the US for a similar wine tasting, but pours were MUCH more generous. There are some Tapas type small plates available. The decor is very on the modern, spare side. Hopefully the wine bar will prosper and we will be able to visit again on a future trip to Argentina.
