“Superb with personal touch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2014

We have travelled in Argentina for five weeks and confidently say this is the best accommodation even compared with those of similar or higher price we have ever stayed at. Its central location is a big advantage first of all that major attractions, good restaurants and facilities tourists need are within walking distance. Apart from it, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Decoration with a theme of Tango is tastefully done, not a kitsch. Breakfast provides a variety of choices and FRESHLY MADE CAPPUCCINO AND SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS are offered upon request which is a completely unique service among the hotels we have stayed.
What count the most is its staff. Its bar workers remember our breakfast preference and are happy to entertain. Receptionists accommodate our needs. Its price is thus very reasonable taking into account its quality service. The manager indeed addressed our needs promptly. Obviously this hotel runs very well on operational and management levels. That's why we have stayed at this boutique hotel three times during five-week stay in Argentina whenever we came to Buenos Aires. Highly recommended.

This small boutique hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Buenos Aires and is like a step back in time from the moment one enters its glass-curtained doors into the comfortable lobby. Beautifully decorated throughout with all kinds of tango memorabilia and photos, the rooms include red velvet curtains and antique table phones. The staff is very helpful and accommodating and will eagerly sell you any tour you want. Breakfast is the usual buffet, lots of cakes and breads, at least this one included scrambled eggs, sometimes bacon and always tango music, a nice change from most hotel's blaring TVs. Be aware that the gym and spa are misleading, the gym is only a treadmill, no weights or machines, and it's all in one with the "spa" which is a jacuzzi and sauna which you have to book ahead of time for solo sessions, available for limited hours. I spent a pleasant three days here, sometimes working on line, the internet is very good on the 5th floor. My only complaint was the air conditioner which was very loud, but certainly preferable to none at all during the Christmas heat wave!

Room Tip: very good internet signal on the 5th floor and all rooms are new

This hotel has large and spacious rooms. The breakfast is simple and has few choices. The decoration has Tango as theme but is not very creative. The localization is good in downtown. The service at reception was quite good with exception of the older guy. In the evenings one should be careful walking around.

I booked this hotel as I like the Tango and its wonderful music. The hotel is conveniently located near the shopping area of Florida Avenue and also quite close to Puerto Madero and it's great restaurants and shops. The Hotel was very clean and filled with Tango memorabilia and music. It's well staffed, has excellent rooms and a good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a small hotel in the central part of BA.

Room Tip: The upper rooms are really suites, spacious, well appointed and comfortable.

I think this is the best hotel we have been into whilst in Buenos Aires. Inside, it is simply beautiful: old "Tanguero" style, the breakfast room and the hall are full of memorabilia linked to Tango stars (1940 - 60)...amazing! It was like being in an old black and white movie.
All rooms are also decorated with the same style and each room has a song name. Even the floor and the ceilings are decorated.
The rooms are spacious and very very clean, wireless is available for free and the buffet breakfast is very fresh and with a lot of choices.
The staff is very friendly and you can book tango classes, city tours ect...directly from the hotel.
When we left they also offered us to store our luggage after the check out so that we could go around with no hassle for the last few hours before going to the airport.
The hotel is also very handy if you're planning to go to Colonia via buquebus (the terminal is at walking distance).
Believe me, if you're into tango and you want to see the "shining of Buenos Aires" in the 40's and 50's this is the place. It is really worth the price - we will definitely go back

Room Tip: we were in the Golden suite - really nice and spacious. Even if the windows are facing the road it i...

I really enjoyed this hotel, especially the cool old style about it. The price is fairly reasonable and the location,(if you are in Centro) is great. Good, but typical breakfast, some good Resturaunts within walking distance

I travel to BA often on business, and stay in moderately priced hotels in Microcentro (also convenient for tourists, but not so trendy). The Tanguero is by far the cleanest and best appointed of the four or five hotels I've been to.

Superb decorating, many luxury touches, good sized rooms, and a breakfast that is on par with the others. (Argentina hotel breakfasts are pretty uniform.). The only disappointment was that there was no fitness center. Otherwise ... highly recommended!
