“Perfect location, faultless service and a wonderful hotel - a dream stay!”
Reviewed 7 March 2011

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and the hotel surpassed our expectations. Located in the centre of the city it was an oasis of calm from the heat and bustle of BA. The rooms were a great size and there was a little spa in the basement which was a welcome retreat after a long day walking. The location is perfect and makes it is easy to navigate round the city while staying in a really nice area. The service was impeccable - they looked after our suitcases while we explored the rest of the country for 10 days and gave us access to the spa to shower and change before our flight home. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if we went back to Buenos Aires.

We just had one night here between travelling to different parts of Argentina.Having asked for a quiet room, we were given a lovely one near the top floor which had a great view from the balcony.I really enjoyed the amazing buttreses roots on the Ficus trees at the end of Avenue Alvear: turn right out of the hotel, then left to the end of Av. Alvear.
An excellent small hotel.

I believe that it is very difficult to find real boutique hotels in Buenos Aires. A boutique hotel is, in a way, what the french call "hôtel de charme". It has to have character, something special, something particular. Casasur has nothing particular. It's a really nice hotel, fancy, beautiful, but has no character, not a special idea. It says to be an "Art hotel". But, first of all, what is an art hotel? And second and more important, Casasur has no art anywhere. So the concept is just an empty slogan to catch tourist.
Besides, it is part of the Small and Luxury Hotels of the World collection. They should check a little bit better what they call a small hotel. Casasur is medium size.
Anyway, it's a very nice place. Rooms are fantastique and the location, for those who are older, is extraordinary.

Dear Guest;
Thank you for your review and for sharing it with others.
I am glad for the fact that you enjoyed your stay, our location and services. However, I must admit it was a surprise when I read we had no art anywhere. Our lobby, restaurant and bar have an art exhibition that is renewed every month as part of the program "Gallery Nights", which takes place in Buenos Aires every last Friday of the month. Our hotel is part of the extended list of art galleries, museums and other places participating in this cultural event. I wish you could enjoy this event on your next trip to our city, where you will have the chance to share your thoughts with local artists and community, together with a complimentary cocktail offered for the occasion.
Please receive our regards and best wishes!

also a few negatives: 1) The elevators were slow 2) The hallways cramped, dingy and un-airconditioned 3) Breakfast in the basement was sparse and unappetizing 4) Lobby small and unimpressive. Good value for a Suite at $315 ++ considering the size and location 1/2 block from the corner of Avenida Alvear & Callao smack in the middle of fashionable Recoleta but we found the ambience of the place lacking warmth.

We spent 3 nights in this awesome Hotel which is ideally located in the very beautiful and safe Recoleta area. The staff and frontdesk is doing a fantastic job. They organised us transfers and booked us Restaurant etc. Even a 4 hour sightseeing tour organised by the hotel is compulsory - this is great! Rooms are very nice, clean and with free Wi-Fi, flatscreen tv and iPod dockingstation very well equiped. Would highly recommend this place.

This is a charming small hotel in a great section of the city close to many attractions. What they are not close to the expert guidance provided by the superlative staff will get you to with no trouble. Sure the rooms are small but you don't go to this city to sit in a room. You go to have fun, do business, and get some sleep. The excellent soundproofing helps with that as well.

We stayed at the Casasur for 6 nights in early January'11. This hotel is an absolute gem and we would most definitely stay here again!

Hotel: The location is awesome - in a very clean and safe area only a couple of blocks away from the Recoleta Cemetery as well as a few museums and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are very comfortable - the two room suite was one of the reasons we chose this hotel as it provided a bit more room given that we were there for more than just a couple of nights. The service at the hotel was excellent. I got a case of food poisoning (but NOT from anything eaten at this hotel). The hotel staff was extremely helpful in arranging for a doctor to come see me (within 30 minutes) and also ensured that the medication prescribed was promptly delivered to the room. Veronica, at the front desk, was instrumental in making all of this happen; assisting with translation, sending an employee to fetch the medication and arranging with the kitchen to ensure that I had the food items recommended by the doctor for the day or two following this incident. It is scary getting sick in a foreign country, especially not knowing the language, and the staff at the Casasur - and most especially Veronica - stepped up to help in any way they could - very much appreciated by both my husband and I. When we checked out, we were advised that there was no charge for the doctor as the hotel provided this service on an as needed basis for their guests and all we paid was US$8 for the prescription. WOW - I'm sure there are few places in the world one could travel and be that well taken care of!!

Sightseeing: Buenos Aires is a very large city and we would highly recommend a guided city tour to get orientated at the beginning of your stay. We had a private tour arranged for our first morning and this four-hour tour gave us a really great over view of the city as well as some do's and dont's. Taxis are relatively inexpensive and safe, but should be pre-arranged with the hotel/restaurant/etc. especially if you don't speak Spanish - if flagging down a taxi, make sure it's marked "radio controlled". The Boca area is great in the day time, not so safe at night. The Recoleta Cemetry and the Cathedral are well worth the visit. The pedestrian mall (Florida St and the surrounding few blocks) is also great for shopping. Great leather buys - merchants will negotiate price if you are paying cash. We attended a tango show at the Viejo Almacen (recommended by our tour guide). Dinner and the show was US$100 per person. The restaurant is across the street from the theater, so quite convenient. They arrange to pick you up at your hotel for dinner at 8pm - dinner was quite good, a bottle of wine, appetizer, steak & veggies. You then walk across the seat to pre-reserved seats for the tango show. Very entertaining though unless you are a real tango and Spanish music enthusiast, at just over two hours, it was a little long for us. HINT: the transportation arranged and included in the ticket price, picks up guests from various locations so the transfer can be lengthy. With taxis being so cheap, we opted to get ourselves there and back as we really didn't want to sit on a bus for an extra 30+ minutes each way.

Restaurants: We had a great steak at Cabanas Las Lilas - share the salad and side dishes as they easily serve two. The restaurants by the Recolta Cemetery are a good spot for lunch, especially under the shade of the most massive ficus tree we've ever seen.

All in all, Buenos Aires is a fabulous city and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!
