Overall an excellent place to stay.
Location- only about 2 blocks to the Humberto stop on the yellow line of the metro, with an underground connector to Jujuy on the purple metro line. Make sure to write the number of the hostel down when you are first finding it because it doesn´t have a big sign outside, a pink door with a little elephant stencil.

Staff- 2 brother runs the hostel and they rotate who mans the hostel. Diego was the person on staff when we arrived and the first couple of days of our 5 day stay. He was so helpful telling us where to see in the city and recommending 1 area that would be better to avoid. We followed all of his advice and had an absolutely wonderful stay in Buenos Aires. It was the first stop on our current trip and thus far it has been my favorite.

The hostel is clean and quiet because it is a small hostel. It is a converted older home with beautiful stained glass windows. We stayed in the 2 twin bedroom. The room was good but the comforters needed to be replaced in the near future. The noise from the road is rather loud, so I used earplugs each night and slept well.

We didn´t do any cooking in the kitchen, but there is one available for use.

This isn´t a party hostel, so if that is what you are looking for go elsewhere. This isn´t the cheapest hostel available, but I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.

Room Tip: I think all of the rooms have balcony access to over the road, so I don´t think one is particularly quieter than the other. The 2 twin bedroom worked well for us.

Elefante rosa is an excellent base to enjoy buenos aires. Stylish decor good facilities choice of reasonably priced accommodation. Good breakfasts. Next to Jujuy metro 15 minutes from the centre. Buses to Recoleta and Palermo/ Boca and San Telmo stop opposite or within one block. Diego is an excellent host and information source and speaks very good English.

This hostel/hotel is within a block of the subway, so easy to connect for traveling to other parts of the city. The 2 rooms that my family of 3 stayed in faced an inner breakfast/lounging room (no windows). We shared common bathrooms (boys/girls) with the other guests and there was also a small kitchen for cooking, which we took advantage of one evening. The hostel/hotel was clean and the bed comfortable. The room was rather spartan, with not even a mirror; the towels rough and while clean, somewhat stained. The balcony in our room (with the only opening to the outside as there were no windows) overlooked a busy street and a wreck of a building across the street, so I can't say much for the view. We were able to get wi-fi. Breakfast left something to be desired. We were offered croissants and white bread (neither of which I eat), along with boxed OJ, tea or coffee. We purchased some fruit at a small nearby local mercado to have for breakfast. Overall, for the price, the hostel/hotel was adequate, but nothing special. The brothers who run it were accommodating and nice, although we thought we'd asked one of them to make a reservation at a steakhouse which didn't happen (perhaps language communication issues). Oh well, that night we cooked in the small kitchen instead and had a memorable meal for the 3 of us, so all's well that ends well...

A great 'place to call home' in Buenos Aires. I stayed here several times on a recent trip to Argentina. Diego is an excellent host - very welcoming and ready to help with tips on restaurants, attractions, buses/metro.

I stayed here for about a week and then came back for a night and both times were great. Diego - the host/owner - is really awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable about BA and the surrounding areas. He's very genuine and open to interesting conversation about life, Argentina or just about anything else you want to throw at him!! The place is really clean and the people who stay there are from all over so finding interesting conversations/recommendations isn't so hard. It's also a block from the metro so getting around is really easy. Definitely one of the best places i stayed during my time in Argentina...
