My husband and I spent 2 nights at this hotel following a 2 week South American cruise.
We chose this hotel based on customer reviews and were very pleased with all the amenities.
The location (Recoleta) was very convenient to historic attractions, including the Recoleta Cemetery, shopping (small boutiques and the Recoleta Mall), and great restaurants. The hotel desk (in particular, Mariano) helped us arrange an evening out to a tango dinner show
and transportation to the airport (we were given an extended check-out time).
Our room was actually a large studio apartment with full kitchen and dining area. Conveniently, there is a small supermarket across the street. A wonderful continental breakfast is delivered to the room each morning. We would give this hotel very high marks.

We were fortunate to have two stays at Ayres de Recoleta Plaza on our recent visit to Argentina. We stayed in room #502 for four nights on our first arrival in Buenos Aires and then returned for a one night stay in room #301 at the end of our trip before flying home. Both rooms (or I should say apartments really) had the same floor plan, although #301 seemed just a little smaller.

Each unit consists of a small kitchen with a two-burner stove, a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, and all dishes, utensils, etc. Everything is there for preparing simple meals or snacks and breakfast is delivered to your room each morning on a tray at whatever time you request between 7:00 and 10:00 am. The standard tray consists of a pot of coffee (tea on request), a jug of fresh-squeezed orange juice, a jug of strawberry liquid yogurt, and a small jug of milk. With this are some pastries including the requisite medialunas (Argentine croissants), some bread with packets of butter and jam, some cheese and ham, and two very tiny packets of corn flakes. The two packets really are only enough for one person but you can request more if you want.

The rest of the unit has a large sofa (which I expect could be used for sleeping), a king-size bed (two twins pushed together), an armchair, coffee table, and a dining table with four chairs. There is a large modern bathroom. Each unit also has a small balcony and both of ours overlooked the plaza in front of the famed Recoleta Cemetery, which at the time of our visit was surrounded by beautiful jacaranda trees in bloom. The street outside really ends at the plaza so there was not a lot of traffic noise. The only noise we encountered was on Sunday mornings when the clubs closed about 3 or 4 am and the drunks were staggering home. My only negatives on this place were that there were no English language news stations available on the television and that the top shelves of the kitchen cabinets were quite difficult to reach for someone my height (5'4"). Other than that having this apartment was wonderful.

The staff here was very helpful at all times especially Julian who made several phone calls to the airport for me in hopes of locating my two coats which my husband managed to "lose" by leaving in our luggage cart. Julian is a true gem. The lobby has a nice seating area and bathroom which comes in handy if you arrive before your room is ready. There are also two guest computers. Off the lobby is a very small pool area but I never noticed anyone using it.

The location of Ayres de Recoleta Plaza is fantastic. We found we could walk to the center of town from here or it was easy to get a taxi as they were always available right outside the hotel door. And besides the cemetery, the plaza/park area hosts a large weekend arts fair every Saturday and Sunday. The variety and quality of things available was wonderful. For changing money there is a branch of Metropolis Currency Exchange a block over on Quintana which is open 7 days a week.

There are also quite a number restaurants and shops within a few blocks. Across the street is a very convenient small super market with quite a large selection of wine and with a small fresh fruit vendor in the front of the store. And, of course, one of the most important things in Buenos Aires, ice cream was readibly available. Four doors down to the left was a branch of Freddo's, but if you turned right out the hotel door, walked to the end of the street, crossed the street to the left and walked to the next intersection (Ayacucho and Quintana) you came to Volta's which I consider sheer heaven for ice cream aficionados.

We really liked our first stay at Ayres de Recoleta Plaza and felt like we were returning home when we came back for our second stay. Having an apartment instead of just a hotel room really makes things wonderful in my book. Add to that the friendly staff and great location and this place is tops.

Room Tip: I expect the higher up you are the better the view. We were street side both times which looked ove...

The location was perfect for our 5 night stay. The surrounding parks and plazas were beautiful and perfect for early morning speed walks especially since the best choice of cafes and restaurants were all around us. The rooms were very spacious, well equipped and clean.I thought the breakfast was great having it delivered to your door so I could have my coffee while enjoying the fabulous views.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking cemetery ,not the front of the hotel because it is noisy.

Located next to Recoleta cemetery and Buenos Aires Design mall, this hotel has a very spacious room with kitchen. There is a supermarket across the street.
Rooms and public areas very clean. Breakfast is served in the room. Because of its spacious room, is recomendable both for families and groups of friends. Rooms could have coffee machine and breakfast is a little bit poor, could be better. That´s why i´m gaving a Very Good, not an Excellent.

We spent the first two nights of a 3 week Argentina/Uruguay vacation here and were very happy with the location and comfort of the room. It was amazing to overlook the Recoleta cemetery. Husband enjoyed running north on Libertador towards Palermo - parks, luxury apartments, jacarandas in bloom all the way. One day we spent walking from Recoleta to San Telmo and upon returning to the hotel felt so happy to be back to the Recoleta area! It has a wonderful feel to it. Lots of fun restaurants to visit in the evening and a very safe feeling. Market right across the street. Staff very helpful. Breakfast is delivered to the room and is fine. At the end of our trip we are staying in the Palermo area which will be interesting but would definitely stay at the Ayres de Recoleta again!

Rooms are studio apartments. Good view of the Recoleta Cemetery and Rio Plata. Helpful staff. When we were there, the internet was not working well. There is normally a $7 per day charge to use it, which was waived, owing to the sporadic reception.

Stayed for two nights before going to Cordoba region and then back for one night at end of our South American tour. Looking at photos on Trip Advisor were not looking forward to this hotel. It looked drab. In reality the photos do not do the place justice. It is bright and airy and the kitchen is very well-equipped should you wish to cater for yourselves. How good to have a hotel where you don't have to smuggle a snack into your room! We even noticed some people were sending out for a takeaway meal. The location is superb and for a city centre hotel was exceptionally quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed eating breakfast on our own in our room. Perhaps the cereal portions could have been bigger, but otherwise it was a good breakfast in general. We would certainly recommend this place to others.

Room Tip: Rooms with numbers 03 are at back of hotel with excellent balcony views of the Recoleta Cemetery. A...
