Only had 1 day in BA so we took our chances on this bus despite reviews. No problems with sound but an increase in volume would be nice. Biggest problem is the ticketing system. Website is out of date so we were sold tickets costing 220 pesos then when you get on the bus, you have to change this ticket for another one to get headphones. They also need to get the sound system to match the bus location. At times, the sound system would start telling you about something and then 100m later (which could be two minutes later) , you would actually see what they were talking about. As we just wanted to overall look at the city it seemed to be fine bunt could be improved.

Poorly run. Headphones were provided but had awful repeated music and then announcements did not come when we were passing a site.

Very slow tour that could have been done in half the time.

Great views of the city which was fun and informative.

Should take dollars/credit cards at the bus and at their ticket offices.

Buenos Aires is a great town to tour by bus, but this hop on - hop off left a lot to be desired. Of the three buses we took on April 8 2014 - on one, many headsets didn't work, so you had no idea what was being said about the sites, on another the recoded audio guiide was badly out of synch, giving information while the bus was blocks away from the sight they were describing. Also on that bus, the entire bus had to wait while the conductor went into a deli, chatted up the staff and ordered his dinner to take out. We sat there waiting for almost 15 minutes! Lastly, it can be difficult to find the hop on locations. The description they give you does not give an address for where you board. You are ok if you hop on at the same place as you hop off, but otherwise it can be difficult. If you sre going to take these buses, I suggest that you find one with working audio and do a complete circuit.

The sound system is absolutely terrible. It is constantly shorting out, and when you can actually hear it, it will cut off mid sentence to start talking about something else or just start playing awful accordion music that's on a very short loop. When you can hear information, it's mostly not interesting -- things like "on your left is the Hilton which was designed by xyz Argentine architect." Then the loudspeaker that the host has doesn't pause what you're listening to so you'll miss upcoming stops or something that might actually be interesting. Even if you hold the audio jack in the selected language & constantly fiddle with it, you still can't get good audio. It's so bad that it's a joke. They also stop at a terrible cafe for 20 minutes in the middle of an uninteresting neighborhood. This was very disappointing if you like to take a quick tour to get your bearings in a new city. If you have no choice, realize that you'll be late, wait a long time for buses & won't get any interesting information.

I am generally a fan of the hop on hop off busses as a way to orient yourself quickly in a new city. Sadly, Buenos Aires had the worst execution I have ever seen of the concept. The audio often did not work at all, or was scratchy and had no volume controls. On one ride the driver pulled the bus over, got off for 10 minutes, and got a coffee and croissant while he left a full bus of passengers waiting for his return. One of the official ticket vending sites where we tried to buy tickets said they had no tickets delivered that day, so we had to go the the main location and wait in long lines for tickets and to board the bus.
It is a convenient way to get around a very large city like BA, but be prepared for anything and everything to go wrong.
