We went on three different buses and on each one the commentary was rubbish. On the first it was not synchronised, on the second there was NO English commentary and on the third (the next day) the english commentary gave up around Recoleta. I would never advise anyone to use the service - compare it with the wonderful service in Santiago de Chile. Like Lexus51 we experienced the half hour stop at 'some dumpy cafe' for no good reason. Give this a miss

On March 29th 2014 we decided the big yellow bus would show us even more of Buenos Aires, wrong. This tour, which could be so good, was nerve-wracking. We boarded at the last stop to be in our seats at the beginning. Do this if you plan to take the tour, it gives you the best choice. There was an unnecessary long stop early in the tour, in a non-descript area, nothing to see. There is a definite problem with communication for when we got off at stop #15 for lunch we assumed we could walk to stop #16 to reboard. After waiting quite a long time we decided to walk to stop #17, a long walk in heat and humidity. We waited 45 minutes, seeing other yellow buses in the distance but none for us. Finally an Argentinian tourist waiting as long as we did went in search of an explanation only to find the bus was stopping somewhere else that day. When we finally got on the operator was rude as she abruptly told us the bus didn't stop at #17 on Saturdays. No one said a thing, not the ticket seller no the conductor when we got off at stop #15. no "heads up" at all. We rate this bus tour as one of the worst tourism services we have ever encountered and suggest anyone considering the ride ask when buying the tickets if the bus will be stopping at all the stops advertised or are there any changes to the service. The bus route does offer great sightseeing potential, if it sticks to its promise, just ask all the questions.

We have done many ho-ho bus tours during our travels as we find they are usually a good way to get a quick and economical overview of a new city. This was not the case in Buenos Aires.

For a start, the ticketing office near our hotel (Alvear Palace) would not accept credit card payments and neither would it accept US$ - ridiculous when most of their customers are foreigners. Then after a few stops, the bus arrived at their office and just stayed parked there for what seemed an eternity with no information provided to passengers. Then to make matters worse, about half way through the tour, the bus stops again; this time for an advised 20 minutes but more like half an hour at some dumpy cafe where the driver and conductor seemed very familiar with the staff and probably enjoyed complimentary coffee but all the passengers either stayed on the bus or wandered around aimlessly in a totally uninteresting neighbourhood.

We would advise giving this shoddy service a big miss.

The Yellow Bus is an excellent way to know the Capital Buenos Aires. I advice a two days ticket, the price difference isn't big and you get more of the city during two days. The only negative thing is that in the Summer the first floor isn't covered and you can't get tanned.

They are not really set up for this operation. Arrived to buy tickets, a bus was there with a few empty seats but we were told we could not get on and had to wait for the next one. After an hour and a half we had had enough and got off. Erratic sound system but I guess if you only had one day here, this would be the trip. We had seen the best areas the day before.
