This hostel is awsom! the facilities, rooms and bathrooms are similiar to what u will find in most hostels, but it has more...the breakfast is the best i had in argentina, uruaguay and brasil...it is super comfortable...and best of all the staff are fantasic! sorry i cant remember the name of the lady that helped me, but we showed up without a reservation, she gave us a room and then helped us find another hostel for the next couple of nights (as they were full)...we then wanted to know wheres best to exchange our money, and where to find a good dentist (as i had had an accident a few weeks prior) she happily and promptly helped us with both those things including ringing and making a dentist appoitnment for me! everything else we needed help with she was there with a warm welcoming smile...i couldnt thank her enough!!! i would definatly recomend this hostel!!!

If you choose to stay at this hostel you do not only get a comfortable bed and fresh bread for breakfast, you also get to know a bunch of extraordinary south americans. Several people stay here a whole semester while studying in Buenos Aires, which makes the atmosphere very familylike. The owner is warm and welcoming, as are the rest of the staff, and you will feel like a part of the family in no time.

In all of my travels, there have only been a few hostels that stick out in my mind: Garden House is one of them. It has all of the requirements you need to be a great hostel: great location, great staff, safe and clean. However, it also have that extra touch of care that makes it seem more like home than a hostel. For me, Garden House is more like an oasis in the midst of the chaos of a major Latin City. It's a great place to rest, recharge and make friends to explore such a iconic city with! Highly recommend this hostel!

This is a nice place to relax and to meet friendly locals and travelers in Buenos Aires. The staff was super friendly and always eager to help out. It is a little pricey for a hostel (about $12 for a bed in a 8 person dorm, $25 for a private) but the amenities and cleanliness of the place make up for the small dent in the wallet.
All in all, a great place to stay as you are close to major transport (buses and Subte) and beautiful San Telmo.

We stayed for two nights in August 2013 in an en suite double room. As it was winter it was a bit cold when we arrived but there was a radiator in the bedroom to sort that. Good communal area and decent breakfast for the money. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff (mostly with good English)
