The location is the best. Certainly not a ritzy street but we ate at the local restaurants which were cheap and cheerful, shoppped at the local convenience store and really didn't feel unsafe at all. Withing walking distance of many of the sights, main shopping plazas and the tourist pick up and drop off points. The staff were very helpful, had good english and were pleasant and smiling. WiFi. available. Breakfast was very good and there was a varied selection. Our room was adequate if not a bit cramped with 2 suitcases but the whole place is painted with "street art" which gives it a friendly whimisical feel.

Room Tip: Was fully booked for the 4 days we were there so book early.

Despite the neighbourhood is a little bit dirty with narrow streets, you feel safe and it is within walking distance to the busy streets and tourist points. I spent the first two nights there and got another night before I left South America. The staff are very nice and helpful and its good to have laundry machine there! Breakfast is good with many choices. A nice and budget place to stay in Buenos Aires.

I stayed at Ayres and Tango Suites on two different occations. I felt at home the moment I entered the hotel. I felt safe and well looked after by the very serviceminded staff.
The area might seem run down, but I alsays felt safe.
The rooms are all about tango with great paintings.
Nice breakfast with the ever friendly staff!
The hotel is walking distance to all the major sights. It would be my first choice when returning to Buenos Aires!

This hotel is very quirky.. Check out the website. It is decorated everywhere with "crazy" Tango murals which really are fun. There are statues throughout the hotel.. Eva Peron on the stairs, Maradona in the breakfast room and the wonderful tango guy in the reception area. The rooms are adequate, simply furnished but quite economically. The pillows could be better. Bathrooms very small (at least in my room) but functional.
For a very reasonably priced hotel in fun neighbourhood this will do it.
All the staff are very friendly (this seems to be the norm in BA) and helpful. For budget minded travellers this is pretty good.

Room Tip: I didn't get a chance to check our any other than mine which was on the front but the sound proofing was fantastic so no street noise at all. Wish there had been curtains or shutters which closed though as the daylight woke me too early.

The review came in a bit late. I stayed almost a week in the hotel in December of 2011. The hotel rooms are all decorated with tango-themed murals. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was among the best I've ever had. I really had a good time there and would recommend it to everyone!

Room Tip: If you have sleep problems, try to pick a room in the back.
