“Lovely B&B just perfect for Swiss people”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2011

The exterior of this B&B gives you no clues as to the lovely interior of this beautifully renovated house. There are 10 or 12 rooms on two levels. The stylish renovations have been well done and all rooms have lovely wooden floors and doors, modern fittings, comfortable beds, good quality bed linen and soft Ikea towels. Bedding/towels were changed every three days. There is no air conditioning but there is a fan which at times just wasn’t sufficient for the hot nights even when turned up to full level.
As most rooms face into the court yard, you need to open up your doors and sit in the doorways to let air circulate which meant everyone passing by your room could look in so there wasn’t much privacy. But as this B&B was mostly occupied by Swiss everyone very politely looked the other way.
Breakfast was very good, Fresh orange juice, coffee, fruit, yoghurt, cereal topping, eggs, sliced hams, toast and croissants. There is no television or phone in rooms. Three young female staff (or were they relatives or friends of the owner?) sat daily near the entrance playing music and watching TV at high level. Street noise could be quite loud at times. Wifi and laptop to access emails if you dont have your own. Room prices were charged in Euros.
All in all a lovely place, particularly for Swiss couples. Probably quite a lonely place for singles as everyone kept to themselves

We stayed here two nights at the end of our trip December 2010 and I was very thrilled - the building is fantastic, it is obvious the owner Brigit put much detail into the aesthetics. Rooms are just beautiful - they have exposed brick and very modern bathrooms. It has a huge courtyard which gets fantastic sunshine and a rooftop deck as well! We were there on Christmas Eve and Brigit and others made a big feast for dinner which everyone went to - such a cool experience!

Wonderful place to stay. Very calm, although in the heart of San Telmo in a very nice area. Friendly and helpful host with a lot of charme. Ancient architecture combined with modern style and furniture. A boutique design hotel for people looking for a special location to stay. There are rooms for any duration of stay. We really enjoyed our time here and felt very comfortable and welcomed. It's a place we recommend warmingly.
Thank you Brigit for everything you made for us.

Pros: The spaces are beautiful in the minimalist rustic school of design. The brickwork, tall ceilings and open spaces are very charming in this 150+ year-old building.
The location in San Telmo is ideal to explore the area.

Cons: It was noisy. I had the front-most room and could hear heavy bus traffic until late at night. Also, because of the open spaces and hard floors, foot traffic woke me up several times during the stay.
The in-room bathroom had no door, which may be fine when traveling alone, but I wasn't.
There were ants in the room.
The breakfast was not fresh (read: defrosted croissants), except for the OJ, which was lovely.
Are host was mostly absent, though I must say the couple of times she stayed to chat she was helpful.

The hotel is ok, but the staff and management are rude. It is a put off ..

La Antigua Casa de Brigit is a very beautiful and comfortable place to stay in Buenos Aires. The rooms are beautiful and the bed is extremelly comfortable. Brigit is a marvelous host, friendly and full of great tips. The interior design is superb, Brigit has incredible good taste and the place is full of charm. Brigit provides a delicious breakfast with a good selection of healthy food. The location is fantastic, with some great places to eat, drink and shop, all near by. I can't wait for my next visit to Buenos Aires, I will for sure stay there again.

If you are looking for a lovely and peaceful place in the heart of Buenos Aires to rest and explore the hidden sights of the town, La Antigua Case de Brigit is the place to stay. This small, clean and distinct B&B is located in beautiful San Telmo just a stroll away from the center. Brigit is a very caring host with passion and an exeptional service. The splendid rooms offer a warm atmosphere and all amenities you need. Excellent and freshly prepared breakfast.
