“Great food in an extravagant setting”
Reviewed 17 May 2011

Upon walking into Prodeo Lounge you immediately sense the classy ambiance and extravagant decor. You sit down expecting the prices on the menu to be out of this world but find that they are quite reasonable. The service was exceptional with waiters speaking fluently in Spanish, English and even Portuguese. The food was unique as well as delicious and arrived in American size portions. I highly recommend Prodeo Lounge.

“Very cool place!”
Reviewed 6 April 2011

Plenty of dishes that sound and taste great. You can tell they've been executed by a well accomplished chef! The Caiprinhas are amazing and I highly recommend trying the red berry one. We were there during the bank holidays so it was empty, but I can imagine this place being really lively with a club/bar atmosphere.
A refreshing change from steak and it's the kind of place that would have an important contribution to the nightlife and vibrancy of any cosmopolitan city, not just Buenos Aires.

“a pleasant evening in an unforgettable place”
Reviewed 1 December 2010

I was really surprised with this restaurant. The atmosphere, the service and the food were amazing. I had a delightfull evening with friends, and had the chance to chat with people from all over the world. I´m not a big fan of writing reviews but this place deserves it. Do not miss it!

“Disappointing for dinner”
Reviewed 25 November 2010

We tried Prodeo Lounge based on reviews here, which made it sound worth checking out. I read somewhere that the cuisine was Brazilian/international. I don't know how to describe it, eclectic, maybe, but definitely not Brazilian.

After being served incorrectly two times (aqua sin gas instead of con gas and a mohito instead of "Maldito" and martini instead of "Maltini"), we pointed on the menu so that the server could not make another mistake. She was nice enough but clueless. And no, it was not a language or sound issue. When it finally arrived, the Maldito was a refreshing and creative cocktail.

The menu looks really interesting. We decided to go with three courses each for $110 AR. Four dollups of salmon tartare wrapped in daikon were pretty but tasted like the smell of a Chinese grocery store. The beef carpaccio was tasteless and appeared to be cooked. The grilled bass was excellent -- hot and cooked perfectly. The lomo was okay but not great. The desserts sounded great but were disappointing. The two-chocolate pave was just bad and the passion fruit pie was a flavorless, gelatinous mess. Portions are reasonable, U.S. sized.

The best thing served was the bread and hummus with toasted black sesame seeds.

Prodeo Lounge is clearly more of a bar and hang out place. The decor is club-like: dark, ambient music (which I thought was great), nice light fixtures, and a wall of water across from a wall with projected beach and water images from wavesdvd.com.

“Excellent in every way...”
Reviewed 17 November 2010

i had the pleasure of eating here upon the suggestion of a friend, and a local of more than three years and to my pleasant surprise: the food, service, decor, and charisma, of this place is spectacular. so pleasurable in fact, my colleagues and i had dinner a second time before returning to New York. and if a Zagat rating was allowed, i'd give Prodeo a score above 25 in all categories. the ex-pat American owner has delivered 5 star service (with a staff who all have lived and worked in the USA) to compliment a New York Times worthy review of Brazilian inspired cuisine. we return to Buenos Aires shortly and look forward to dining there again... oh, the Dolce del Leche dessert is not to be missed...
