It's my second time at Colección Fortabat. In the first one, on February, it wasn't listed at tripadvisor yet! And that's a good measure of how this spetacular place is still a hidden gem.

Having visited the most important museums in Buenos Aires at least once, and some of them twice or three times, now I can say for sure Fortabat has the best permanent collection in town, and the fact that it is a private one opened to public visitation since 2008 makes it all the more outstanding. Ah, and the building itself is spectacular...

The Landscape, Family and Tradition section is one of the best rooms I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Surely the argentine collection - Berni, Fader, Xul Solar, Alonso - is more beautiful and more important than the international pieces, despite their fame (Wahrol, Chagall, Dali, Rodin, Turner) and price...

The only low point, in fact, works well for the visitor: it is still very quiet and empty, while MALBA, also a great museum, but with a much smaller collection, is crowded...

Such incredible pieces of art deserve to be seen by much more people. Lets wait and see if the gets more visited as time goes by.

It is a quiet museum (in fact, a private collection open to the public) with great pieces of Argentine art as well as international ones. The building is really an architectural creation worth visiting. I just loved the works of Berni, Xul Solar, Carlos Alonso and Lascano. Some of the international painters are Warhol, Dali and Chagall. It is easy to see this collection as it is well organized. Audio guides are available and the cafeteria is great. The price is Ok (A$ 20 or approximately u$5). After the visit it is lovely to see the river from the nearby streets. Puerto Madero is a beautiful neighbourhood.

Good collection of both Argentinian and international art. Especially liked the Carlos Antonioni selection. The audio guide in English was helpful, if not inspired. Very quiet when we went, a hidden gem perhaps...
