“Good restaurant at Recoleta”
Reviewed 18 November 2013 via mobile

Good restaurant in Buenos Aires next to the Recoleta cemetery. It has outdoor seats and very nice waiters. The food is very good (especially the meat) and the price is fair, and the wine is cheap, like almost everywhere in Argentina. We order squid as an appetizer and this is my only complain: it was not crisp and tasteful was it should be.
It is a nice place to eat in BA.

“It is still good”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

In the past Clark's was unique. Today it is surrounded by restaurants attracting tourists that flock around Recoleta (me included) and so they had to make some concessions, like the low priced tourist menu. But if you stick to their menu traditional options - meat dishes - you can not go wrong. I highly recommend the kidneys and sweetbreads as an appetizer (get 1/2 portion of each) and their bife de chorizo (a thick NY steak like cut), simply delicious. Add a bottle of DV Catena and you can have a glimpse of paradise

“Wonderful Parilla!”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

My wife & I passed by Clark's one evening and spoke to Elisa who was distributing their literature. We were impressed with the menu, especially as we like Argentine parilla(open grilled meat). But, since we had already eaten that evening, we mentioned we were looking for a nice restaurant in 2 days for my wife's birthday. Elisa said if we came back while she was there, we would get 2 glasses of champagne and tiramisu with a birthday candle. So, we came back and ordered their best parilla (no sausage)270 pesos. It was enough meat for 3, if not 4 people. It came in the traditional metal portable grill-like platter that keeps the meat hot, as it has several burning charcoals at the bottom. We obviously had meat to take home for the next day! At the end of the meal, the waiter brought the champagne/tiramisu without us having to request it. Most Argentine restaurants charge a fee, per person, for the silverware(& might include bread). Their literature had it listed as: Cubierto. So, don't be surprised to see that charge. In Spain they charge for the bread(listed as Pan), without asking if you want bread. So, in Spain we learned to immediately say no bread, when we didn't want it. Not sure if that can be done in Argentina, since silverware is(or part of) this standard fee. It's also Argentine tradition to not rush people during their meals. So, if the food or bill takes longer to arrive, they're just allowing you time to enjoy your time there. They know how to relax in Argentina, unlike us Americans. They don't rush you! This is their custom. But, it's fine to request the bill, as this will not offend them. The waiter explained that, if we paid in American dollars, the restaurant would give us the unofficial(& much higher) blue rate exchange. These amounts were listed on the bill. Very smart business owner who knows the economic benefits of obtaining dollars for himself.

“Whole animal sampler!”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

Dropped in for lunch after doing the Recoleta cemetery across the street. This lunch was something different in the Parilla sense of things... Not only did our lunch special for two include a selection of meats, we we treated to offals that were quite different to the taste indeed! Liver, tripe, kidney and blood sausage... The meats were great, the rest was, well offal!!! lol The service was excellent and the inside of the restaurant is a site to see!

“Fantastic Place”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

This restaurant is so atmospheric. Aim to eat about 10pm when the place is buzzing, very popular with local people. Very good choice, Argentinians love their steaks, good quality and the service we had was unbelievable. The waiter that served us wrote nothing down but got every thing to us (and many other tables) as ordered, including all the drinks. A truly wonderful experience.
