“A great place to enhance your stay in BA, Argentina”
Reviewed 24 April 2013

Nestled in the beautiful and vibrant BA’s Palermo neighborhood, L’Hotel Palermo offers a great and comfortable place to enhance your visit to this amazing city. The room was very clean and quiet and the beds were confortable. The staff (Santiago, Leo, and everyone else) was extremely cordial and knowledgeable. Their recommendations were always the best. The hotel is not too far from metro system (Subte) and also is walking distance to many good restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping.

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Two blocks from Plaza Cerrano with its epic people watching and cafe culture in the best neighborhood - Palermo - in BsAs.

Very helpful staff who had many great recommendations on sights, restaurants, shopping and how to navigate that city.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and with character. Nice garden in the back which was nice for getting away from the big city right outside the front door.

We stayed 2 nights at l"hotel Palermo as our first stop to Argentina. The hotel is small on the outside, even without a sign on the door. It is only recognized by the street number. However there is a very cute long, narrow and shady cobblestoned courtyard inside with walls covered with climbing ivy that gives a coziness' feeling. The narrow courtyard opens up to a larger sunny area with a very tiny swimming pool. The breakfast room and massage room are situated around the sunny courtyard.

Our room was at a good size, with a little balcony, as we requested a room that could fit 3 adults. The location is very convenient, within blocks to small boutiques and restaurants. However a taxi is always needed to go anywhere outside of Palermo as Buenos Aires is a large city.

The breakfast is simple but the Nespresso machine is nice. The staffs are very helpful for arranging taxis and restaurant recommendation.

We stayed in this hotel twice during a recent visit to Argentina, for a total of 7 nights. It is a peaceful retreat in a busy, around-the-clock city. The staff is friendly and helpful, and most of the front desk folks speak some English; the courtyard is a great place to hang out and appreciate a fine afternoon; the most memorable detail is the Queen-of-the-Night which grows in profusion in the corridor between the front desk room and the courtyard. The aroma is heavenly. The one observation is that if you are staying multiple days, you might want find breakfast elsewhere from time to time, because it is the same every morning. It's not a bad breakfast--just a bit monotonous after a while.

Room Tip: The exterior rooms are a bit noisy; the interior rooms often open to guest walkways. Take your pick...

It's an oasis in the city. We opened the door to the hotel and could see the court yard going down to the garden, what a vision of tranquility. It's more like a help yourself B and B. you take breakfast in the garden room, select your own coffee or tea, toast your bread and then help yourself to a superb continental breakfast. When we got into our room, we thought no fridge or tea and coffee and no bar, we must be crazy. Have no fear ring up for what you need and it will be brought to your room with a smile(wine, glasses, ice ,milk, but no liquor, bring your own) and no service charge. Best of all the location. I just hope we can get a room when we return, which we will.

The funny thing with boutique hotels is that you never know what you get. It all seems to revolve around “atmosphere”, “personal touch” and “cosiness”, with the result that almost anything goes. L’Hotel Palermo left us enigmatic. On the one hand, it’s an oasis of serenity in the buzzing Palermo barrio, but on the other hand… well, it LACKS something. Perhaps it’s the somewhat distant and indifferent staff (but then again, pretty helpful when needed), or the very limited breakfast (without new supplies, so you’d better be early). Or maybe we were just unlucky with our stay in room 22. This is probably the worst room in the hotel: extremely small and looking out on a shaft, with 4 roaring airco’s at full blaze right next to our window, day and night. Downright awful. Tip for the manager: stop selling this room and transform it into a closet.

Also, don’t expect any maintenance during the weekends as there’s no one around to fix small inconveniences such as getting a second (!) bedside lamp, repair a cupboard door that won’t close etc. And oh, on Monday the guy had a day-off, so that actually made 3 days without a bedside lamp and an open cupboard (makes you wonder what happens with inconveniences on a larger scale…). Anyway, after some complaints they finally upgraded us to a superior room, which was good.

Buenos Aires is a huge city, so you’d better do some planning before you choose your location. Palermo is a great option if you want nightlife, a fair choice of good restaurants and bars, and high-end shopping in countless boutiques. L’Hotel Palermo is right in the middle of the action, on (safe) walking distance to all you need. Note however, that getting to downtown or barrios such as Retiro requires a taxi, or a 20 min. walk to the nearest subte station.

Room Tip: Do not accept room 22

Beautifully renovated boutique hotel in one of the best paces to stay in Buenos Airies. Great room, very lean and a pleasure to sleep in. Friendly helpful staff, boring but fresh and tasty breakfast . Would defiantly stay there again.
