“A Recoleta Gem”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

This family mansion converted into a boutique hotel provides a peaceful oasis in the heart of Recoleta. The staff is at least trilingual with French,English, and Spanish easily spoken. We also heard the staff address guests in Italian. Our room was large and beautifully decorated. The marble bathroom with a rain shower was a delight after walking in the summer heat. The included breakfast at the time of our stay was ordered from the menu instead of a buffet. Close by ,so an easy visit,is Evita's mausoleum along with restaurants and upscale shopping. We stayed two nights on arriving in Buenos Aires and looked forward to staying on our last night in Argentina before flying home.

We stayed here five days and it was a wonderful hotel. Rooms were clean, new and lovely as well as were the bathrooms. We first stayed in a regular room, but were later upgraded to a larger room that was incredibly beautiful - I had wished I had stayed in it the whole time! Staff was very nice, tried to be as helpful as possible, however, could use some more knowledge of Buenos Aires. Were not very familiar with restaurants as well as not knowing BA as well as I had wished. We found ourselves going over to the larger establishments and asking their concierge for help sometimes. Breakfast was included and was awesome! Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Larger rooms were beautiful and spacious.

As a frequent flyer - I started looking for hotels that were not part of a chain of franchises. I looked for hotels with local history and character of their own which at the same time provide modern commodities; after traveling for business to Buenos Aires and staying for a week at the Club Frances I found my second home for future trips.
I was not only surprised with the enchantment of the hotel, but a truly personalized staff, I was given an automatic upgrade even not being a frequent guest at the hotel. Location and safety for business travellers is important and I could not ask for a better location. Food is one of my key factors when I travel. Breakfast as well as the variety and gourmet food offered at the restaurant are amazing. We took advantage of this and decided to conduct our lunch meeting right there.
Thanks Ed,

Dear Ed, thank you very much for your great review! We work hard for people travelling to feel home away from home and it is very rewarding when we get such positive feedbacks. For your next business trip ask our front desk clerks for our offices for rent in case they come in handy.
See you soon!

We stayed here this week, including New Year's Eve and New Year's. The staff are attentive, especially Rosaria at the front desk. Breakfasts are gourmet quality, with fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, fresh fruit, scones and other delights. We were upgraded to a much nicer room and allowed to stay much later on the day of our flight at no charge.

The hotel is in a great part of Recoleta, on a quiet street, but close to the cemetery and other attractions. It was renovated recently, so the rooms are quite modern, though contain antique furniture. It only has 28 rooms, and the staff get to know you. A nice touch was having our room cleaned while we were at breakfast. You just don't get this treatment at larger hotels, which cost more, too.

We ate dinner there on New Year's and had a great time. Service was excellent, as was the food. We will stay here the next time we are in BA and will recommend it to all our friends.

Beautiful rooms in a central location in Recoleta. Breakfast food was delicious - best orange juice and coffee in Buenos Aires. Very friendly staff. Room was as nice as some of the much more expensive hotels we've stayed at.

Splendid location in Recoleta, near to other fine Hotels, to good shops; you can walk to the center of B.A.
Beautiful old building with classical decoration and style.
Totally renewed recently, with big modern rooms.
Friendly staff, very helpful (although not always very professional).
Reasonable price.

Dear Tomas, thank you for your comments, we are working strongly to meet the fine line between stiff staff and more homely staff, and from your comments we fell far from that line.
Thank you very much for letting us know so that we can make the proper adjustments and make you feel at home in your next visit.

We were there two weeks ago and it was a treat to be in a small 17 room hotel in the best area of BA within walking distance of Quintana street, other hotels, stores, food, etc. The staff isn't all adept at English but we were able to be understood, or someone else was called over. We had the superior suite which had a balcony as large as the living area. Breakfasts were fine. Everyone was gracious and helpful. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner.

Room Tip: Some floors have only one room on the floor, some have two or more.

bjjja97, thank you for your constructive review. It is true we have one front desk clerk that does not have a polished english, but she is fluent in french and portuguese.
We are working on improving her english, thank you very much and hope to see you soon back to try our fine restaurant.
