“Home away from home”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

We stayed here before our trip to Brazil and then returned. I can honestly say it was like coming home. We met several other tourists who had come back and I think they'd say the same. This is a clean and comfortable hotel, with interesting artifacts dotted everywhere, good and free wifi, a pool, places to sit and unwind... The highlights were the friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast. It was not a lavish breakfast with massives of choices. But what was offered was really good and healthy: fresh orange juice, the best banana bread ever, great cream cheese, ham and cheese, pastries, fruits and fruit salads, granola etc - a much better version of the standard fare you can expect in S. Americia. We really enjoyed it. The staff really helped us. We could not speak Spanish, so they booked places for us, called taxis, pre-booked our plane seats online, drew maps, gave us fantastic directions to places and so on. We have stayed at many hotels in our time, but we really found the staff here exceptional, especially the young men on duty at night. Recolleta and Palermo Soho also look like great areas to stay in, but I would go back to Patios because of the staff.

Room Tip: We loved our balcony, looking onto the street and being part of BA life. We did not find this noisy

We stayed here for one night after a long long flight. They upgraded our room after we found the air condition not working so good. Breakfast is great. Shower in the superior room was enormuse! The only fault is the location- we liked other neighborhoods...
Would come back again!

Very nice room (for BA standards), boutique-like, close to everything one needs to see in San Telmo, outstanding local restaurants in walking distance and very helpful staff
Very pleasant welcome and even a Marco Polo guide was offered for use during our stay - little things make a difference!
Breakfast served in the in-house deli and offers good selection and quality
Beds are large but on the "hard side"

Room Tip: Rooms to the patio certainly are calmer but also smaller than the ones to the street - have a look f...

Couldn't have wanted more - well located just on the edge of San Telmo district - lovely tranquil boutique-style hotel but at an affordable price including a good breakfast. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble always with a smile!!! We highly recommend it to all and would love to return some day.

Room Tip: Being really picky - The rooms fronting the street can be noisy in the evening - quieter at night...

I booked this hotel based on amenities and photos. When we saw the neighborhood we were worried -- but should not have been. It is rough looking, but in fact we found it urban-reasonable. The hotel itself is fantastic. Small but well appointed rooms are complemented by wide spaces outside your room with seating areas open to the sky so you feel as if you have a terrace outside your room. The front desk staff were fantastic and the area -- once we became familiar with it -- was in fact very interesting. Value for money, definitely.

Our holiday in Uruguay and Argentina ended in Buenos Aires with a stay at Patios San Telmo Hotel. It´s a very nice hotel with a really good communicative location in San Telmo from where you easily reach any part of Buenos Aires. The hotel is newly renovated with a good feel for the original building and the rooms and the public areas are all nicely decorated. The staff is very helpful and friendly and gave us excellent advice on good restaurants, attractions, etc. There is a small pool at the roof as well as some training equipment. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Try fo get a room with proper window towards the garden, like room 215 or 210

I was really excited to end our trip in South America at this hotel. I was slightly let down as I felt the place had more of a hostel feel to it rather than a boutique hotel. Our room was tiny and very dimly lit with no natural light. It was decorated awkwardly with little space for bags etc.. the bathroom was a disaster, small and constantly flooding. However, how much time do you really want to spend in your room in a city like BA?? none, so actually it was a let down but no big deal. The location is fantastic. Easy access to the rest of the city via foot and Subte. Within walking distance of the San Telmo antique market, many many pubs and bars as well as some great Parillas. The staff were friendly and helpful. Not a bad place to stay but I think given its hostel feel it was not great value for money and slightly disappointing..
