Stayed for four nights on a recent business trip. Some reviews mentioned location being a poor one but would not agree. Area around hotel is a little run down but its walking distance to Porto Madero, Avenida De Mayo, San Telmo and is very centrally located. Would much prefer this location to being in Porto Madero. Hotel staff have great attention to detail and this is really a quality hotel. One slight problem with a package delivered to the hotel for my attention but not received before I checked out. However, it was quickly resolved and the Front Desk arranged to send it on. In you are in Buenos Aires on business, would be hard to find a better hotel

this is an Intercontinental, so i can assure you it completes certain chain standars. I stayed here for only 3 nights with my husband during a holiday.
The bedrooms are great, nice bed, a whole bunch of nice and comfy pillows, the bathroom has a jacuzzi inside and a separate shower.
The buffet breakfast was ok.
Didn´t like the neighborhood though, but it wasn´t a big problem either.
This is not a new hotel, but you have to understand that in Buenos Aires almost all hotels are really old, so this one was Brand new compared with the other ones i have stayed in.
Nice staff, people from the door always give you good advices on security issues (taxis and what areas to avoid) .
It is walking distance from the San Telmo Street fair that has antiques and other things.

I just recently got back from a fabulous trip to Argentina that began in Buenos Aires. Everything about this hotel is awesome, from the rooms, to the restaurants, to the gym and especially to the Club Lounge and the awesome Club Lounge Butler, Nestor Posadas. Nestor ensured that our experience was over the top with his charm, sense of humor and accomadating our group to make us feel extra special.

You can't go wrong in selecting this hotel!

We chose this hotel as a pre-cruise stay. Arrived around mid-day, but were able to get room immediately due to arrangements made by the cruise line's transportation associate. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was one of the older ones, but perfectly clean, well-appointed, and had a comfortable bed. Another couple traveling with us got one of the renovated rooms, which showed a bit less wear and tear, but we had absolutely no complaints with our room's location, appearance or cleanliness. We had breakfast and lunch buffets while there, as well as dining room dinner. All meals were very good and service was excellent. Staff was consistently polite, friendly and helpful. We did not walk the local area in the evenings, so can't comment on security in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. No wi-fi in room, but free connectivity in the pleasant seating area off the lobby. We wanted a very good hotel with excellent service, and we got it.

Room Tip: renovated rooms are a bit nicer, but may be priced somewhat higher.

I work for a major airline and we were just moved to the Intercontinental and have stayed there three times in three months. The Intercontinental is in the San Telmo area near the Plaza de Maya. This is the financial district for Buenos Aires. Our previous hotel was in the Recoleta area and we were very happy with hotel and location. In a cost saving move, which I do not believe we now are at a hotel where we are given rooms near one of the loudest elevators and hear it all day and night. The location is not safe even in the day time. Pick pockets now throw paint in victims eyes so they can more easily steal. (Before it was mustard). There are no places to eat nearby so you must take a cab at night, The problem with this is if you do not have exact change the cab drivers will rip you off. It also seems there are many protests going on in this area and the airline crews have been advise they can not leave hotel. Do not stay here!

Room Tip: Do not take any room remotely near the elevators! Ask for room facing Church. Wear very practical an...

Clean and spacious rooms, well-furnished, classical style. Being an Ambassador Platinum member, I was given a business room. Friendly and efficient check-in, where all my benefits were clearly explained. Good wifi at the room, which is offered to Elite members for free.

Convenient location, two blocks walk to 9 de Julio avenue and Subte stations, but quite far from Puerto Madero or Calle Florida (although walking distance during the day). Nice breakfast - best served at 1st floor than on Club Lounge (located at 17th floor).

A plus: for corporate needs, they offer a free shuttle service to offices close to Puerto Madero. Just ask at the reception!

Overall, an excellent experience. I really enjoyed this hotel, staff were very nice and helpful and I would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Try to stay at Business Rooms at the corners, far from elevators. Free shuttle services to offices...

In an unstable country and city, this hotel is a very stable point to stop at: clean and spatious bedroom, international service standard (including breakfast in the middle of the night for jetlagged Europeans, free internet connection in the looby etc.), excellent local food and wine at the ground floor restaurant and perfect location for business in central BA.
I recommend the restaurant on ground floor and not the restaurant on first floor, which looks less modern and more "old style". The coffee bar on ground floor is good for a short stop during the day.
