This hotel was clean and comfortable. a substantial breakfast is included. It is downtown in the heart of the theater district, within walking distance of many attractions and close to subway terminals. Staff was helpful.
Spacious, clean room. Quite central location near to the commerce, restaurants. Very good and varied breakfast. Free Internet. Need reform in the reception, it is ugly. Parking has not in the hotel, not even swimming pool, but the remainder was good. I think that it takes better options as the same price.
I spent 5 nights at Art&Deco Hotel togheter with my wife and teenager son. We stayed in a triple room, number 305, facing the street. It was a very bad choise as it hasn't got double glazed windows so it was impossible to sleep properly do to the noisy. To make things worse there's a reflector in the hotel's façade towards our window's room which make the light of the sun looks like a dim light bulb - the curtains were not long enough to cover the whole window. We managed to have it switched off in the second night there - we had to be persistent to get that. The room itself is average, two ordinary beds and the other was a little short for and adult. There was a built-in kitchenette where you can make a tea/instant coffee. There's also a sink and a minibar. The bathroom was ample with a shower with an adequate water pression, the downside was a slight smell of sewage. The breakfast was very poor. Limited choise of fruit, the selection of bread was not very nice, and most of them with the ubiquitous 'dulce de leche'. And if you dare to arrive late at the breakfast room, certainly you'll get lukewarm milk. The front desk personnel was very attentive in spite os the reflector's issue. The location is a must with cafés, restaurants, bookshops, theatres, an express Carrefour nearby. We booked it through www.clickhoteis.com.br and we paid US$ 97 per night for a triple. Summarizing, I wouldn't recommend it.
We were going on a cruise and needed a place to stay that was central to everything. This place is it. Subway on the corner(safe) bus out front, cabs all over the place. It is in the Times Square of BA. Restaurants all nearby etc. Hotel has 28 rooms. We had a suite on the top floor with fridge, stove, etc. Nice clean bathroom shower, bidet. Balcony had a table and 2 chairs. Free internet and breakfast was good too. No hot stuff but coffee and tea all day. There is a small bar on premises also. Staff cant do enough for you, especially Christian. If you plan on going soon bring him a NY Yankees t shirt. English is not spoken well but you can surely communicate and get everything you need. Cab to the cruise pier was about 5-7 US dollars. I always give a little tip to all. You can walk to almost all the good parts of the city from the place. Just be careful at night. Ask if you can pay in US dollars they will lower the price considerably. This hotel has the taxes built into the price and they dont nickle and dime you to death. Sorry I wrote so much but we really had a good time there.
