The hotel was very good. Clean, large rooms with very nic bathrooms. Very nice an filling breakfast included in the morning. The employees were very friendly and helpful. One complait was a missing coffeemaker in the room. Also for this price point the hotel should include the computers in the business center free of charge for those with no hardware of their own with them.

We stayed here two night after a wonderful cruise from Valpariso. Our room on the fourth floor was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately it was at the front and the noise from the busy road went on day and night. The window insulation left a lot to be desired so sleep was a problem. We were in the dining room early each morning and had a nice breakfast. Now a warning, DO NOT use the bar unless you are prepared to be ripped off, (21usd for two bottles of beer and a juice) Plenty of places just outside the hotel.
This is a beautiful old hotel with a wonderful friendly staff. The two girls on the front desk in particular were a delight, nothing was too much bother for them.
Shame about the noise, the only thing that would prevent me from staying there should we ever return to the beautiful city that is Buenos Aires.

Room Tip: Try a room away from the busy front street

We stayed here following a very enjoyable cruise. Our room was on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel overlooking a busy road. The room was gloomy as it had one wall which was black, a blackout curtain, dark wood floor and dark furniture. The room was a reasonable size and had a patio-style window overlooking the road but there were no rugs or carpet and there were no tea or coffee making facilities. The wardrobe was a reasonable size though shelf space was limited. The bed was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size and had the usual amenities though there was a fixed shower head and the controls did not allow much adjustment of the force of the water.
We found the breakfast adequate rather than exciting and there was a limited range of cooked food. The hotel retains many of its period features which while attractive do not compensate for the lack of atmosphere. We thought the hotel was more geared to business clients than tourists. That said the receptionists were very friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: Any room away from the roads at the front and one side of the hotel are to be prefered so as to avoi...

Outstanding staff in a gorgeous building. Location was perfect for us, with all the areas we wanted to visit a comfortable walking distance away -- don't be put off by some of the reviews here. The most beautiful building I've ever stayed in, and even our smaller room was clean, comfortable, quiet and CLASSY. Free wifi was restricted to the lobby only, but also available in your room for a reasonable fee. Front desk staff were quick to help us with great dining suggestions, assisted us when our booked tour pickup never materialized, help with money changes, and allowed us to delay out checkout. The bar was a little out of my price range, but there are a lot of other options in the area and simply sitting to soak up the beautiful atmosphere is free. Would jump at the chance to stay with these folks again! The building is so very well appointed and grand, but the people made the stay memorable.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of busy Buenas Aires. Great location to grab a hotel to see other parts of the city. The staff was more than helpful, rooms large, very clean. The best part of the hotel is the lobby bar with fresco on the ceiling and very "grand". Don't worry about reviews on the location because you will be visiting so many other areas of the city, you probably will use a taxi anyway.

The Savoy is classic style hotel with good amenities and ungraded rooms from a few years ago. We found the main drawback to be the location. With taxis cheap in BA I think it is better to stay in a nicer area like Palermo or Recoleta, a bit away from the dirtier main streets
