“Best location ever!”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

If you don't want to spend your whole traveling budget in a hotel, this is your place.
The location is amazing - very close to everything in the center (which is undergoing a lot of renovations) and the best thing is - the usual downtown noise never gets to the room, so I had an amazing sleep.
Breakfast is very good and decent - the staff is always helpful and attentive!

I would stay here again and totally recommend it!

We spent three nights here following an Argentinian tour. We think we were reasonably well looked after by friendly and helpful staff. It has a good location and we found we could walk to local areas of interest and pick up transport with ease. The rooms have all the useful amenities but are in need of some refurbishment. Our room was quite small and had a window but absolutely no view.
The local restaurants provide a good variety of food and good, reasonably priced steaks too. The hotel breakfast was fine and available over a good time period.

Room Tip: This hotel has smoking rooms on request but it also allocates these to non smokers. Worth checking...

Hotel is rated 4 star hotel but it is far from that! The hotel is old and the interior has not been changed for 30 years. Breakfast buffet is poor. The cleaning staff has broken lock on our hand luggage and stole some personal items, and when we reported the incident to the reception, they told us that is not their problem. The manager spoke to us only in Spanish even he spoke perfect English. Short story long no body helped us, no body even pretended to help us. We went to Police for the report but that didn't resolved the problem.

Stayed here for 2 nights, the first room was extremely poor quality, water damage in the dressing area, electric cover fell off the wall, sudo tiles peeling off bathroom wall with consequent mould. Only room available after request to move was a smoking room for a non smoker!!!

However, the following day the room was changed for a cleaner much better room, with non of the previous issues. Upon enquiring, the older ?4 star hotels appear to be the standard of a 1-2 star hotel, so please be careful when booking in Argentina.

The staff were always courteous and helpful, a good basic breakfast was on offer until 12 noon. There was so much to do and see from this location and choice of restaurants amazing.

Hotel Bisonte Palace makes good use of mirrors to make space look larger, as demonstrated by the main photo on TA. This holds true for the dining area; there are actually less tables than what it appears, because of the mirrors. On some days, people had to wait for a table for breakfast, especially if they came towards the end of the buffet period.

I booked a single room through bookings.com but at the last minute, a family friend joined the group. Upon check in, I was given a double room at no extra charge which was brilliant. The room had a funny smell (industrial cleaner?) to it, but it went away after a while (or maybe I just got used to it), and was efficiently organized for two twin beds. The bathroom was small with a toilet and a bidet. Unfortunately the shower curtain was moldy at the bottom and tended to cling to you during a shower. This hotel could really use those curved curtain rods to give guests a little more room in the shower. Fortunately, I only used the room to sleep in, which was adequate.

The hotel staff were nice, especially Daniel, who helped us book a tango show at La Ventana and advised us on how to book tickets for Buquebus. The staff in the dining area were quick about refilling our hot water for tea. The buffet breakfast had hot and cold items. There was always scrambled eggs. During the weekend, they served scrambled eggs with squash, which was very nice. The same dining area serves sandwiches and tea if you are feeling hungry later during the day, but there is no room service or main courses.

Fortunately, the hotel is centrally-located, within walking distance to shops, restaurants (there's a great Chilean one around the corner), Buquebus, banks, and churches. It is also fairly close to Santa Fe and Florida streets.
