“Buenos aires”
Reviewed 10 April 2013

Great clean and affordable accommodation in downtown Buenos Aires close to parks and major shopping street Florida.. Very pleasant staff who are helpful and who spoke excellent English. Central location. Breakfast and wifi included, .When in Buenos Aires save you coin pesos for local inexpensive buses to places like the botanical or Japanese gardens. Buses require bus pass or 3 pesos in coins, no change is given by drivers. Preferably get some coins from your hotel lobby since banks do not change foreign exchange only cambios. Coins are generally in short supply in Argentina.

Local taxis off the street (select taxi marked radio taxi for safety) are inexpensive. Taxis at stands at the ferry terminal to Montevideo try to fleece you three hundred per cent, go out on the street above the Ferry terminal and wave down a taxi.

Ferry between Buenos Aires and Montevideo is fast efficient and easy to take. Be sure to carry your Argentine entry visa or you will pay twice if Canadian, Australian or US citizen.

Stayed one night arriving late from an excursion and left the next day. Room was very comfortable, business center very convenient and a good breakfast. Location is convenient to Pl. del Mayo and Florida. Not great for venturing out late at night.

We were very satisfied with our stay. It was centrally located, about 3 blocks from Florida Street, we walked there safely. They picked us up at the airport (for fee) took us to the cruise terminal and booked our City Tour and Tango Dinner. Everything was as promised and Tango Show was cheaper than quoted. (the Tango show gives a discount for paying American dollars, even though they will take credit cards, they charge a fee to do so) One of their people speaks excellent English, however the dining room waitress spoke little English.

Room Tip: Elevator is very small, a little slow, maybe choose a lower floor

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Aspen Towers. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room (on the 11th floor) was a little dated but clean. There was construction noise during the day, but the room was quiet at night. The location is convenient to all neighborhoods - we were able to walk everywhere - from nearby shopping centers to the Recoleta, Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, and Puerto Madero areas. If you're in a hurry, a taxi is faster, but if you have time - it's walkable. Breakfast was OK - some days were busier than others. There are two computers for guests to use - a nice convenience. We couldn't figure out how to program the room safe - when we called the front desk - they sent someone up within minutes. We were impressed by their quick response.

I stayed at the above hotel for seven consecutive nights commencing 30 January 2013.The hotel is modern even though the two lifts are quite compact. The double bed room was clean and very quiet.
Staff were helpful in giving directions-no matter how many times I made inquiries. The included breakfast was cheerful -staff were very patient with an Australian who spoke hardly no Spanish or Portugese.
The maid was a bit tardy in cleaning the room
Overall worth the outlay.

Room Tip: Be nice and pleasant to the staff

I stayed at Aspen Towers for 3 nights due to it's location and affordability. It's located within walking distance to many attractions in BA including Plaza San Martin and Teatro Colon. The staff was very helpful, and the room was clean. My advice would be to skip the unappetizing breakfast and find yourself a nice medialuna and cafe at one of the nearby restaurants.
