“Good food. Small room”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Classic building with large lobby. I was in the second floor, rooms could be bigger but good size bathrooms. Prices are fare. Breakfast was very good, nice location with subway connection very close. Casa Rosada, Catedral, Museum, Puerto Madero just walking few meters.

Our airline (United) compensated us for canceling our flight. They put us up in this hotel for the night. The front desk staff was impeccable. The room was very comfortable. However, it did have a strong aroma of cigarette smoke. Which required us to open this huge window on the fifth floor. Typical of Bs.As., the window had no safety features and with a precocious 7yr old in tow, it was rather scary.

Unfortunately, there were only two outlets in the room where we could recharge our electronics and the intenert was 3mb/s. Not good enough to be able to stream Netflix. They could also use a TV upgrade.

I could deal with all of the above. What I could not deal with is the general lack of attention at the restaurant. First of all, the airline compensated us 200 pesos (about 38 US at the time) each for a meal. The restaurant assumed that we would be satisfied with a day old milanesa (chicken fried steak for us mericans) sandwich and a bottle of water, and we had to eat them in our room. I said hold on there bucko. That sandwich cost you 50 pesos to make, you are not going to pocket the rest and send me to my room.
After talking to the manager, WE came to an understanding, She would provide everyone from the canceled flight at least couple of choices for a sit down meal.
They gave us a choice of grilled chicken and sliced potatoes in a creamy white sauce or "anything you can think of we will put on the bowl for you" salad. I ordered the first and my wife the salad. They were both absolutely delicious. Hence, why I gave them an average rating instead of terrible.

Everyone at the restaurant was polite and professional. However, it lacked a friendly atmosphere. It seemed that they did not want to be there. None of the 3 waiters/waitresses ever cracked a smile. I take that back. My wife saw one of them almost turned the end of her lips upward. It happened very fast, I missed it.

I know the airline compensated my stay and I should not complain. But, this review might serve someone in the future. Or even the management to improve things a bit.

the hotel is nicely located just a few steps away from Casa Rosada, the president's palace.
The spacious rooms are very nice with wooden floors, good size bathrooms and a wonderful smell which you actually can smell in all NH hotels.Prices are fare and for just a bit more you can have a junior suite. On Sunday you have just around the corner a market with local specialties and " wanna haves" , market starts from Defensa at Plaza de Mayo and leads to the San Telmo quarter . Be prepared and wear good walking shoes because the street does not really support high heels

Room Tip: I had room 923 and it came with a huge terras

Older, classic building with grand lobby. Nicely remodeled interior and extremely friendly, personable and competent staff. I was concerned by some of the negative reviews here, but found the hotel to be exactly what I needed on 2 visits to Buenos Aires this month. Basic business services (printing, etc) available. Good, no-hassle Internet connection everywhere on property. When next in BA I will stay there.

Room Tip: Upgrade to Junior Suite for quite a bit of space. Stayed in 2 different rooms, both unique in layou...

A few footsteps separate this historical art decó hotel from Plaza de Mayo, Avenida de Mayo, Florida st, and many other atractions in this beautiful city.
Also, just round the corner you have the metro line D which connects with most interesrting destinies within Capital Federal.
The hotel personnel is warm and very serviceable.
Hotel restaurant and room service has very good quality at a afordable price.

excellent! We spent quite a nice week here, primarily for business reason but also enjoying the traditional Buenos Aires microcentro. Service is performant and always available. Rooms are ok for good rest and, also, for preparing your meetings and presentations. Breakfast is remarkable. All in all, a next-to-top alternative when travelling to Buenos Aires

We recently stayed for 4 nights in this hotel, which has a A-location in town, friendly service and comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet with wide variety of healthy products.
We received hospitable help at the front desk to get around in BsAs and they really helped us out with all kind of questions.
