“Great Location, good service”
Reviewed 11 March 2011

I spent three nights here in February as part of a small group of women and found the hotel to be really well located, clean with very good service, excellent free internet and a delicious breakfast buffet served in a beautiful sunny courtyard.
Recoleta cemetery is a two minute walk as well as several excellent helado shops, good restaurants of all types and good shopping of varied types - high end along Av. Avear as well as Ferias near the cemetery.

We were in this hotel 3 days in january (16, 17 and 18 january) en 1 night in february (6 february).
The hotel is good. The rooms and the lounge are very comfortable. All the facilities are sufficiënt for a hotel of this standard (4 stars).

The hotel lies at a superbe location, nearby shops and nearby by the famous cemetary, where Evita Peron is burried. You must see that!!! The taxis are very cheap. For 2 Euros you are in the center of Bueanos Aires.

The breakfast is sufficiënt, but not great. The dining is also good, bur pricy. We preferred an little restaurant nearby, where you can find honest food for a fair price (Rodi bar 100 mtrs left from the hotel). Very nice mashed patotoes there.

The problem is the staff of this hotel.
In the restaurant there is 1 person, who speaks a little bit english. Orders for the restaurant ends very often in an not ordered dish. Also is it very strange, that dishes who can order from the roomservice, were not were available in the restaurant or nearby the pool. We did not understand that at all.
The main problem are some staffmembers who are not helpfull at all. We arrived for instance om the 16. of january after a flight at 9 o'clock in the morning. We travelled totally 24 hours from our home in Holland to this hotel. The staffmember said, that there was no room available en that we must wait 2 hours. The promised we receive a sign, when there was a room availble. After 2 hours we inquired. De key of our room lies on the desk, bus the staffmember forgot to give us a sign. At the last stay in february we arrived at 12.00 uur. Because there was no room available, they gave us an upgrade. The most staffmembers ware helpfull. The bellboys and other receptionists (one man specially, who helped us with our e-reader) are friendly en helpfull.

First I'll start with the staff. You walk through the lobby and nearly every single staff member from the bellman to desk clerks are staring at their cell phones. I could run out the door with a planter and no one would notice. So when we asked for something to be brought to our room after tipping the bellman and nothing happened it was no suprise. We asked a total of five times, with no results. We will not tip another dime, since it's like throwing money out the window.

What's with all the good reviews? The place is severely worn. There's a 10" in diamerter spot on the wall behind the desk with paint worn off. The room carpets are beige and filthy, but replacement is what they need, not another shampooing. Hall carpets smell like urine and are disgusting. They look like patio carpeting. Not classy and not appropriate for a hotel.

Too much upselling. The mini fridge is crammed with abusively expensive items. They even charge for the instant coffee in the room. They must be refilling the amenities. I tried the lotion and it was a combination of shampoo and hand soap with grit. NO Dead bolt on the door.

The Exe. Studio is a decent size. We looked at a suite and my god, it is so chopped up and with no tv in the bedroom. Makes no sense they charge more for it. Bathroom is a tight corridor. No more than aprox. 5" counter space. One wash cloth, two towels and micro pieces of soap.

Lobby is depressing and the back patio area needs to be cleaned and painted. I would not eat there if you held a gun to my head. Wi-fi only in the lobby, which is a depressing place to be.

Loi should fire the manager, put some $$$ into the hotel and start over with the entire staff. I will never....never recommend the Loi to anyone. It's a two star at best.

The Loi Suites has lovely white decor, large and well-appointed rooms/suites, and is located in the midst of the fashionable Recoleta business district/neighborhood in downtown BA. We received excellent assistance and service from some staff, especially in the restaurant, but others were curiously unhelpful, in situations where a visitor paying for upscale accommodations might expect better, e.g., mailing a postcard, making change for a 100 peso note. And the fact that the air conditioning in the public areas is set low added to the feeling of coldness with which we left.
PS: If you expect to swim in the hotel's pool, be prepared to do so in off-hours...pool access is only through the restaurant.

This is a nice hotel, very convenient to Recoleta cemetary and adjacent restaurants, bars and cafes. The rooms are a bit small but they are very clean. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the atrium area for breakfast is very nice. This hotel was good value and Recoleta is a great location to stay in Buenos Aires.

Very nice medium sized hotel. Included breakfast in beautiful winter garden room. Good front desk staff. Rooms have bars and microwaves and the executive suites are really large, 2 full rooms. Very comfortable for longish stays. Decor is simple, modern, quiet. Good A/C. Bathrooms not super luxurious, but perfectly adequate. Location is safe, quiet. Plenty of good restaurants, cafes, bakeries, ice cream, etc near by.
