“Clean but basic in an excellent location”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

Properties like this meet my needs just fine, but it might be a bit basic for some. Rooms are clean and fairly modern, although you can tell the building is a bit older. Bed is decently comfortable. Two-bedroom apartments are spacious. A/C units didn't go as cold as I prefer (minimum temp is 20C). Bathroom a bit cramped (toilet right next to wall, which was a bit uncomfortable), and shower without a curtain/door left the bathroom a little wet. Bathroom also had no ventilation and got really warm, as hot water pipes left one wall hot to the touch. Elevators were small and beeped overweight when trying to carry both of us and our luggage. Staff was very friendly and accommodating (early check-in, upgraded room, directions). Two biggest downers were the super-early, non-standard check-out time (10am is unreasonably early, IMHO, especially in Bs.As., where people stay up late as a matter of course) and the charge (although modest--49 pesos) for wifi. Otherwise, it was fine, and I already have another reservation to return to this property later this week. Location is excellent and can't be beat--100 meters to the Subte, a half a block from the Lavalle pedestrian street, and two blocks over from Calle Florida.

We had made a reservation at the sister hotel Rochester M, but were moved to Rochester Classic without any notice whatsoever. In our book they lose their first star already at the check-in. Not one room is available until exactly 2 PM, but the check-out time is at 10 AM (not 12 PM as the international standard), so in four hours they still can't prepare a room for guests arriving early? On top of that, they won't let you use their wifi for free while waiting, so you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a service that should be complimentary in 2014.

During our two-day stay, there's a 45-minute power-cut and a drain blockage.

On the plus side, the location is excellent, and the facilities are decent.

Lets start with un-air conditioned lobby, Closet size rooms (open front door hit bed), cabinet size bathrooms (open door hit toilet), and no hot water pressure, non-working refrigerator, window air conditioning right below the window in the wall so that you can never close the blinds. My view out my window was of a shaft between the buildings (it always sounded like it was raining from all the air conditioning above), old window that do not close properly.

Centrally located, friendly staff that speak English and with a genuine Can-do attitude. The room was nice n cosy, hot showers n good breakfast. Tours to the city n outside can be booked by the hotel staff. Only downside is you have to pay for WiFi and the air con can be a bit noisy.

Room Tip: Located very close to the shopping square, a few meters from the subway, laundromat, convenience sto...

Travelled to Buenos Aires in November and loved my experience.
Great location with plenty of good restaurants and extremely close to many cafes and shops.
Fabulous staff and, most of all, great on-site resources like wi-fi, a superb restaurant and bar.
Very nice rooms, delicious breakfast with a fresh fruits and juices.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

I recommend it for a short stay in Buenos Aires.

I prefer hotels with a clean design. And that´s the case here.

The hotel was convenient for me, clean and friendly staff.

Good breakfast.

Rooms are very small. It´s hard to walk sometimes. The bathroom too. It wasn´t a big problem for me but i'm just saying in case of people who need more space.

Spacious bedroom and complete bathroom, hair Dryer, kit of gratuitous bathroom, Minibar
The hotel also counts with bar, restaurant and wifi.
The great good Place "Cafe Tortoni", it is a nice place for a coffee or a small snack, famous for its literary and art.
The location of this hotel is perfect, it's perfectly accesible by underground and bus :)
