Owner description: The most celebrated Argentineans, including Eva Peron and her family, are buried at this elaborate cemetery, where mausoleums replicate chapels, pyramids and Greek temples.

A must see on the turist trail but never the less interesting. Narrow passage ways between tombs and monuments. Eva Peron's tomb is worth a visit.

Visited this a part of my tour to BA.

This cemetery was filled with the dead of famous people of Argentina.
Past presidents, hero's, or the very wealthy.

There is even a conspiracy theory that a famous "German politician" is here but not confirmed.

The cemetery is lined with massive statues and mausoleums.

A bit OTT for me but I heard some of the stories and it is definitely a place worth visiting.

It's currently free to enter.

For Finnish man this place was really strange. Huge gravestones and buildings. We at north have only small stones at cold country. This was something else.

This is after all just a cemetery with tombs.... I understand that it is part of the Buenos Aires tourist circuit so we did visit the cemetery. We wandered around and looked at the tombs. Maybe takes 30 minutes of your time. Definitely not a highlight of our visit to Buenos Aires.

This is probably unlike any cemetary you have ever seen. Small streets wind through a large collection of elaborate tombs and monuments side by side as if they were townhouses. Featuring a wide array of designs, statues, and historical bronze plaques describing the accomplishments of the deceased, almost all of the tombs would be considered impressive in a normal cemetary, but some are really amazing. There are free tours some days at 11 in English but these were cancelled both days we went. There are also guides hanging around who will charge a nominal amount for a tour. Regardless of whether you get it for free or pay, we recommend you take a tour. This sight is well worth seeing.
