“Read reviews that the view of the city was amazing...”

Guess what, you can't take pictures inside the building... It's a library??? Front kiosk dude was rude, spanish only and didn't really want anything to do with tourists... Keep your spaceship library... moving on to the next attraction!

“Much larger than it looks in pictures.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2013

This place offers a decent view, a place to sit and read, and free guided tours. Not a must do, but a nice place to stop in for a break. You can also walk the area as it is nice.

“Not the european architectural masterpiece I was expecting!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

We went along to view this library (stupidly) thinking that with so much european influence in Buenos Aires the building would be grand and something worth looking at, and that the place would be filled with books waiting for us to peruse. Nothing doing! The building is hideous (think sixties architecture) but admittedly does have a good view from the 5th floor. Books cannot be accessed by the public though.

There is also a good cartoon exhibition on the third floor which is worth looking at for 20 minutes.

“Uhh...Where are the books?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2013

This place has kitsch value and is interesting architecturally but as a library it's a monumental fail. We were looking to browse the stacks and this is not an option-where are those dastardly books hiding? The floors you can visit have lecture spaces and along the wall closed off mini-libraries with really outdated furniture and a terrible cafe that could be so great if someone took the time. The interior furnishings have never been updated and look like they're 40 years old-which i think they are. The interesting thing is that this library opened in 1992! So it opened as an outdated monolith. My guess is that they bought all the furnishings when the design was approved and ground broke in the 60s and 70s.

“Great library, great architecture, great park.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

All about it is pretty awesome, the park on the outside (I hope it's still nice, I haven't been there for a while), the building itself it's great and the collection also!
